Supper club -Sat, june 29
Good morning!
Still on the beach here but moving to Anchorage today for one night. Yesterday we drove down to the end of the Kenai Peninsula out onto the Homer spit. We had lunch, and a beer and a 100+ year old log bar called The Salty Dog. The tradition is to write something on a dollar bill and tack it anywhere you can find a spot. Every table sports a container with a few sharpies in a lot of thumb tacks. The walls, rafters, ceiling are covered with dollar bills and the occasional pair of undies. Even a bra was tacked up there. However, we kept all our clothing on and our dollar bills in our wallets. We’ve been here before and “paid our dues” then. Always fun place to visit on the spit. Then we had lunch and drove back to the trailer and Read and napped the afternoon away, listening to the waves . The Eagles have been keeping a much lower profile yesterday and this morning.
Irish, Sounds like there might be some travel possibilities for you in the coming year. I bet Tim and Kathy would love you to join them on any trip you chose. Or all of them! Life is short-go for the gusto!
Jana, Things are always hopping at your house! Is your batt-bath up and running? Where are you going to put all the Skinnies when you finish them? I Picture of them descending the walls of your staircase . I Meant to bring my New skinnie book along with me on this trip just to look at. But it sits, safe and sound, in my sewing room at home
I never made spaghetti last night. After lunch in town we were too full so about 7 PM we had a little cheese and crackers and called it good. So tonight will be spaghetti and meatballs.
What’s going on your table?

Good morning!
Mary - wonder if that tavern is insured extra for all the money on the walls. That could be quite a sum! I love exploring small quaint towns. In Berkeley, Ca, not small, was a hardware store that had a huge selection of model railroad stuff. The railroad stuff was in the basement, the hardware upstairs, right across the street from UC Berkeley. One of M8chael's favorite haunts.
I gave up on what I had planned for dinner in the past few days. I was smart enough never to take it out of the freezer, so it will come out another day. Stayed and played in the Batt Cave until way late last night. Layering three skinnies to quilt today. I would have layered more, but ran out of safety pins.
The Bathroom in the Cave is up and running. I have picked up a few essentials, towel holder and a free standing toilet paper holder. Michael is still making a alteration to the drawer in the vanity. Had to move the back of the drawer in, to allow room for the pipes. Only on one side and only a couple of inches. I have dark teal towels for in there too. Just hand and wash towels. Why buy a bath towel when there is no bath!
No idea on dinner - Michael is in one of his not hungry moods. We will eat.
Enjoy,
Jana

Good afternoon from a warm, sunny, SW. Pa...Another perfect summer day and also perfect for hanging sheets on the line..Can't wait to get them back on the bed and jump in tonight......
Mary, I really agree about life being too short, perfect example was our Cindy...In her short life, she did enjoy her time but there was so much more....Just makes me sad to think about it...But, I'm finding, I'm a quick packer and can be out the door in minutes if I get a good offer...My sister is already planning our trip back to Florida and told my friend who has the house in Naples, we'll drive down with her when she goes for the winter....
Just had a call from my sister and they are planning a surprise birthday party for my nephew...He thinks he's going to one of the kid's parties....Not sure if I'll make it or not...Terry is bringing Scout and that might include dinner....He and Theresa are headed to Lake Placid for the week....They keep telling me, they're looking for a retirement home up there....
Been a busy "ugly" day! Laundry is done, basement got cleaned and still need to run the vacuum...Finally got the winter curtains in the dining room changed to summer ones and might work on the kitchen...Next week will be the big bathroom, going from winter green to summer pink....
As for dinner, I can only hope it's an invitation.....
You all have a great rest of the day....
Happy eating.............
