Good morning!
We are camped here on the beach of cook inlet 40 miles north of Homer and 150 miles south of Anchorage. It’s beautiful here though still a little hazy from the wildfires. We can see the high snow-covered mountains across the water. And We have Eagles! Tons of Eagles! Adults and young ones. At least a dozen in the sky at any one time, swooping and soaring overhead. I have Never heard eagles talk to each other before but they kind of “chitter”, especially to the “kids”. This morning several are out on the beach with the seagulls looking for sweet treats left by the low tide. Several others are in a big field on our other side looking for goodies over there.
Today we are taking A drive down to Homer just to explore and revisit all places we’ve been before. One old favorite is a Quilt Shop. I think it is called the Bee Hive.
We are still thinking about dinner. It is pretty breezy here on the water for grilling outside so we will have either spaghetti and meatballs or meatloaf and baked potatoes. I made the meatloaves at home and froze them so they need to thaw. Will have to be making a decision pretty soon
Yum Yum!!

Good morning!
Mary - you are in Irish's paradise spot! All those eagles! Such a beautiful sight. All the wonderful things you see creates such wonderful memories from your travels!
Matt found a yummy new doughnut shop uptown. That is our excitement here in this neck of the woods! LOL! Sarah wants to go and try them out with us. Little boy needs a haircut as well, so in a little bit we will go off to do this traipse.
Then back to the Batt Cave to hide out. It will be getting quite warm here today. Above 95. We haven't turned on the A/C yet, the Batt Cave stays at 72 all the time, no matter what time of year it is. So hiding there, sewing is very nice!
Dinner - well, last night got moved, again! To today's is ready to go! Michael helped Matt solve a irrigation problem over at Matt's FIL's house last night. Here in many places throughout the state are irrigation canals with secondary water. Secondary water is recycled water used to water lawns and crops. They had to solve a water pressure problem, which they did.
Well better get going,
Enjoy,
Jana

Re: Supper Club - Fri June 28
Good afternoon from a very sunny, very warm, summery SW. Pa...Yep, summer has hit, not sure for how long but it super warm and wonderful......I even turned on the AC yesterday mostly because I thought Baby Girl was warm.....I have a big exhaust fan upstairs in one of the windows and it keeps the house fairly comfortable...But, Baby Girl is learning to lay on the floors that have no carpet or go to the basement...
Mary, you are indeed in my "paradise spot" as Jana called it.....And to think the eagles were almost completely wiped out a few years ago.....I might have to try to talk my sister into making that trip although she's been there...AND Kathy and Tim are planning a cruise/trip, I believe next spring/summer.....Wonder if I could be a stowaway....After the wedding, they're going to Hawaii and I'm hinting about that one., lol.....
Jana, a new donut shop would get me moving...We have Dunkin Donuts and normally the place is so crowded you can't even pull into their parking lot so I've given up on a good donut...I really should move a machine to the basement..Mine, like your's stays nice and cool but NO, like a dummy I go upstairs!
And speaking of dummies, you all will laugh at my latest antic...I knew I had an appointment to have my carotid arteries checked and thinking it was yesterday, off I went...Well, the door was locked, no one answered the phone so couldn't let it be a waste so went to Home Depot, got some more plants, stopped and got an animal print top for the wedding and on the way home stopped at the greenhouse and bought some more marigolds..(seems deer and groundhogs don't like marigolds)...Checked the calendar and appointment was for today...BUT, finishing up the Lion quilt and the belt broke..In a pinch, could use the other machine but would rather not...SO off I went for the appointment this morning, then to JoAnn Fabrics, then also stopped at Kohl's and found another top for the wedding...I've been having fun, spending money like a drunken sailor but having fun....Also did stop and picked up lots of doggie treats for Scout and then made a huge drop off at the Salvation Army store and boy do I feel good!
Hopefully, I'll get the belt on the machine and finish the quilt...Just need to finish the wedding sampler, if my eyes hold out, lol.....
As for dinner, I still have a tiny bit of spaghetti and meatballs from my neighbor, Donna.....
You all have a great rest of the day......
Happy eating................
