Supper Club. Mon, June 24
Good morning
We are in Wasilla right now, an hour north of Anchorage. Tonight we plan to be in Whittier, an hour south of Anchorage. There are a couple of other Arctic Fox rigs from our annual rally who are roaming Alaska too. Bill has been keeping up with them on FB and we may run into them today.
Jana, yay for the Big Toy being finished!! That Santa ornament sounds cute.
Becca, hope your back is better today.
Supper tonight will be spinach ravioli from the freezer. And salad. I will top the ravvies with a sauce - pesto or cheese or white flavored with dijon mustard.
How about you?

Good morning!
My Lila is down for her early nap. She was really tired, so went down early. She will take a long nap this afternoon. Gracie is watching her princess movie, Cinderella. Ethan will be here in a short while.
Mary - ferns in Alaska? They are so lush and beautiful. Sorry you missed your nephew, but there is the trip back. Your time there is going fast.
Dinner tonight - humm ... thinking... I have a corned beef that will do nicely.
Tomorrow we are meeting with a financial planner. We need to start the manatory withdrawls because of Michael's age and need to see what to do with it. And then our attorney to finally set up a trust. I have decided that getting old ain't for sissys! Not that I am old yet - don't laugh too hard now! The financial guy is my Ward Chorister, we were talking and found out that this is his profession.
Enjoy,
Jana

Good afternoon from a partly sunny, but warm, SW. Pa....The sun is once again playing hide and seek....I really laugh at the weather people, trying to predict because it's never right..I just wait until morning, look out the window and then, not even having a weather degree, can predict pretty much what might happen....
Mary, thank you so much for the post card, that was special...The eagles in Alaska are pretty big, aren't they? But, your card earned a center spot on my fridge...I've only dreamed about seeing the sights in Alaska and have heard it's breath taking...So, you know, you're enjoying all those things for me too.....
Becca, I hate to hear about the aches...I missed what you had done but hope you don't do it again and also hope it feels better quickly.....I've heard porch swing sitting is a good fixer upper.....
Jana, We'd never think of you as old and it's never too early to talk to a planner....We had a young fellow who ended up to be almost one of the family, help us and he really was a huge help...And when Jim needed to go to the Memory Care Home, he and Kathy advised seeing an elder care attorney who really helped....Our Kevin is meeting with his fellow also and he'll turn 60 in August but is ready to retire...
My heavens, not sure how my kids passed me up in age......
Went to the neighbor's funeral this morning...And speaking of age, my other neighbor, Ted, now has the honor of being the oldest on the street...I did tell his wife, Donna, to make sure she takes good care of him because I'm next in line for that honor and I'm not ready..... And speaking of Donna, she just stopped by with a container of her spaghetti and meat balls, which I will really enjoy.....
Nick stopped by yesterday and we did have Subways...He had stopped to see him Mom, then came here and then had to get home to finish packing....He was off for briefing today and then swearing in tomorrow....I just keep thinking how proud Jim would be...
Not sure what the rest of the day will bring...So many things I could get into but once again, that get up and go and really gotten up and disappeared...
You all have a great rest of the day.....
Happy eating..............

Hi everyone!!
I'm sliding into my seat, thanks for keeping my chair for me. We've had crazy things happening here! Friday 2 husky pups about 4 months old cane over chasing our chickens, sadly they got 1 and another 1 is hopefully going to be ok. We put her in the hospital wing for 2 days and she is doing better so now she's out in the chicken coop separated from the others but at least they can see each other so hopefully everything will go smoothly when we put her back with her flock in the next week or so when she's all better. The next day 2 bigger pups about 8-10 months almost took a calf down and then went after my chickens, thankfully they hadn't been let out yet. So the animal shelter has 4 husky pups to find good homes for now. Oh they did get the nephews chickens, killed all but maybe 6 I think he said, thankfully they didn't get to the baby goats.
We've been in the upper 90's and have been having a hot hot wind, yucky. I've been trying to keep my flowers, trees and plants alive through it.
Dad is coming for supper, I think we're having banned food and maybe coleslaw.
Tina

Good afternoon! When I walked the dogs today the sky was the most perfect sapphire blue overhead. It was like the star sapphire in a ring I once had. The temperature was only 73, but it seemed ever so much hotter—all sun and no shade, and high humidity and pollen counts. Well, afterall, it is summer here!
Yesterday was the family reunion. I took my basket of jam and a huge salad. There was only a smidge of salad left, and I ate it in the car on the way back home. The jam went over in a big way—more than I dreamed! I had 23 jars, and then DH’s sister and cousin came and got two more jars on their way back to Wichita. I have no cherry jam left and only a few jars of blackberry in my pantry. I’ll probably try to do it next year.
Mary—with your limited roads in AK, you may eventually run into your friends unless you are all going the same direction. Dinner sounds yummy!
Tina—hello! Oops on the chickens! That happened to so many of mine. That’s why I no longer have chickens. I hope your injured girl gets better! It’s so sad that people do not keep their dogs at home! You expect it with the wild coyotes but not dogs. And then there are the people who drive out to the country and dump their extra dogs because they are two cheap to take them to the shelter. I know, I have three rescue Hooligans that were dumpees. I hope the pups don’t find homes anywhere near you or your brother!!!
Irish—the weatherfolks blow the forecasts here daily. You just have to use a weather rock. Put it outside where you can see it. If it’s wet, it’s raining. If it’s white, it’s snowing. The heat “feel” of the rock tells you how hot it is. If it blows away, you had better take cover!!! We have a financial guy that I started with 20 years ago when I was working. I know what you mean about our kids passing us in age!!! So sorry you had another funeral in your circle of friends. I received the sad news that my friend subsumed to her breast cancer.
Becca—How fun to have a group to quilt with! I love baby quilts, too. There was the cutest little baby at the reunion. I got to hold him, but DH wouldn’t let me bring him home. He was sandy blonde, with a chubby peaches and cream complexion. I fell in love. I hope your company brings you energy!
Jana—They do love the princess movies, don’t they! Does she wear a costume when she watches? DH’s granddaughter lived in a princess tutu when she was little. Next year she will be in college. I don’t know how that happened! You are right that growing old is not for sissies! We have a trust and a financial planner. He treats us like his parents, who I knew from when I attended a church they went to. There again… everyone is younger than we are now!
Dinner tonight—we have choices… ribs or pizza. I’ll break out whatever sounds good to DH. I’ll also have a big salad.
Bon appétit!
