Supper Club June 6th

Post by gershwin64 » Thu Jun 06, 2019 6:29 am

Hi everyone! Thought I'd come check in :) I've been mostly enjoying my days off, I only have 26 more days till we start the new crazy schedule school year!
I almost stepped on a rattlesnake about a week ago, I was taking some top of strawberries to the chickens and I always watch the ground but this guy was laying in the dirt and blended in perfectly, I stepped maybe a foot from his head when I saw him! Thankfully he was more interested in sunning himself than to move, coil or strike! ^ days later we had a bull snake in the yard, ugh. This guy was skinny but a good 3 feet long too, Frankie went to get a 5 gallon bucket to relocate him and he turned mean and struck at Frankie at least 4 times! Even though they aren't poisonous, I'd hate to be bitten by one!
Dad is coming for supper, I'm trying to decide what to make, it's been in the 90's already and so hot and food just doesn't sound very appealing. What are you all cooking up? Maybe you'll entice me :)

Tina, that's quite a scare with the rattler. Glad you missed it.

Our weather has been cloudy and cool. Normal for this time of year. The marine layer comes in off the ocean, then clear out in the late afternoon. Today it is clearing early, so I'm on the patio enjoying the morning sun. Didn't get to sewing yesterday. I worked in the backyard planters a bit. I have spearmint, and it tends to take over.

We are going to the farmer's market this afternoon and taking Jack and Wrigley. I'll get some fresh veggies and fruits. Maybe bbq some burgers when we get home.

Have a lovely day. Lori
