SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, April 30th

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Apr 30, 2019 3:35 am

Good morning!

Today is my younger sister's birthday. I sent her a Red Lobster gift card. She loves seafood. (hard to believe we came from the same parents!) Plus tomorrow is her wedding anniversary so I'm sure she'll enjoy it.

I made good progress on Gypsy Dancer yesterday. I LOVE this pattern, but forgot how poorly it is written. It's not difficult, but it takes some head scratching to figure out how to put it all together. I also did up all the laundry. It was a purrfect drying day on the lines. Today - the sheets and pillowcases! and floors. And more Gypsy, of course.

JANA - sounds like your home was in nursery mode yesterday! Sweet! I never put sage in gravy either. True confession - I rarely make gravy! But I'll try to remember it next time I do. I hope your flowerbed turns out just how you want it! Thinking Vicki might be inviting our friends to a picnic is a nice thought because you are a nice person. However, you are really playing the pretend game there!

IRISH - oh, you HAVE been busy!! I always change the furniture around, even if there's only two ways it can go. Just doesn't seem like I've REALLY cleaned if everything is in the same place. Have to laugh at Jim's toilet comment! I will be doing a lot of purging when we empty our downstairs for our new carpet/flooring. Not all of everything is going back! You are quite ambitious to even consider painting. But I guess it will keep you out of the downtown bars! lol! Oh, I hope there's no fish hooks in your little eaglets or in their nest.

BECCA - I bet you are getting excited about your DGS's visit! And yes, our guests are very understanding. He is a retired preacher and extremely compassionate. Though he's realistic, too, and is concerned Vicki will turn violent. We assured him we keep a watchful eye and a locked door!

CHICKIE - your birds really put on a show for you. So do your Hooligans! the things we do for our critters! Scott and Fox run our lives. lol! I have to allow extra time to dress in the mornings for our walk. Scottie grabs my pant legs and tugs, almost knocking me over! And don't get me started on sox, shoes, and laces! He's a one-dog Hooligan show! Hope you enjoyed your fillets because you now have a check mark after your name!

No company tonite but I guess we still need to eat. Our poached eggs morphed into burgers last night, so maybe the eggs will happen tonite. I've got a few supper ideas but am saving them for when our company returns.

And you all? What's the plan at your house?

Good morning! Yesterday’s drizzle turned into severe thunderstorms and flash flood warnings today. The thunder and lightning have Tinker Bell reduced to 50 pounds of quivering, needy jelly. Yoga was interesting. I doubt very much she will want to walk and see Choc later today. They will not be happy when I lock them in the house and make my escape and keep my truck cleaner.

Mary—you might as well put another check mark by my name… leftovers! But, they were the best bass. EVER! I, too, love the Gypsy Dancer quilt, but I’ve hesitated because of all the critiques on the poor writing of it. She does a lot of patterns, and you’d think she’d get better. I wonder if she doesn’t have a good pattern tester/editor. I’m glad I got my laundry finished on Sunday! The Hooligans help me with my shoes and socks as well when it’s walk time. If they would just relax, I could get ready much quicker and be on our way!

Dinner tonight will be the aforementioned leftovers. DH really enjoys the creamed fresh asparagus. I’d eat it in any form, but he really likes the cream sauce. I’m hoping to get to my sewing room today. I am making scrappy pot holders. All the girls can use some utility pot holders.

Bon appétit!

Good morning!

Well with Daniel arriving on Saturday, the kids here have been calling to see when we are doing family dinners. So far, Monday is one of them, but I expect that I will have more than that one family dinner next week.

Sad news - Kate's dad is failing fast and so we are on call for taking the little girls. Kate seems to be handling it better than her sisters or mom. I think that maybe Kate's training is helping in this.

No idea on dinner for tonight yet, but banned has been requested. Michael went to his Dr, for a regular check and his numbers are doing really well, but he did gain a couple of pounds - which is good, as the last few checkups, he had been losing weight. Me - I am holding steady at my new weight with the loss I did earlier. That is good!

Down here in the Batt Cave - got the bookkeeping done for Michael - he does the budget - I spend it! Good trade off in duties! LOL! Now I can go to the grocery store and stock up for the family next week. I know that there will be tacos, spaghetti and pot roast, other than that, I have no idea. Maybe a banned noodle cassarole - all my kids love that.

Still working on the little wallhanging, that is if I would turn around from my desk to my sewing machine - they are right together, but I keep playing here instead - I just need to get it done!

Mary - yes, that was said, tongue in cheek. Hopefully Vicki will continue to behave, somewhat!

Chickie - I know all about that mud! I have mats infront of each door to slow down the tracking in from outside with the grands. Most are very good about realizing that their shoes are dirty, but I have a couple that just don't pay attention.

Becca - walks in early is what happens here too. Michael watches the temps in the morning if he is walking or mowing the grass - sometimes he is out at 7 in the morning, before it gets too hot. That will happen here soon enough.

Well, better get turned around and get something done!

Enjoy,
Jana

Aaron just called - he helped deliver a baby this afternoon on the side of the freeway. His first, and I will bet that it won't be his last! A healthy little boy that just couldn't wait until they got to the hospital. The EMT crew would have been Kate too, but she is off today. Oh the fun that my kids get into! LOL!
