SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, April 2nd

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Apr 02, 2019 4:02 am

Good morning!

Well, yesterday we got the upstairs cleaned and vacuumed. that's the living room, kitchen, dining room, sewing rooms, and office. Today we'll finish the downstairs (family room, bedroom,) and both baths. If I have extra time I'll make cookies and applesauce to go with the pork roast for tomorrow's company supper. Bill will be helping me plus he is going to blow the front walk and cement part of the driveway before the rain starts (I hope). We had another mouse this morning. I was able to catch him in a box and relocate him outside. He was pretty docile so maybe his 'ride' into the house wasn't first class . . Poor mouse. Foxy and I are going to have to have a talk.

LORI - I'm impressed! you wash windows once a month?! So many of our windows are so high that Bill has to bring in the Big Ladder to wash them. That means every 3 years whether they need them or not. I do the ones I can reach more often than that, but not monthly.

TINA - why did you move your shed? That cake sounds awesome! Great for a crowd!

JANA - Oh, I love it in the California Redwoods! We've camped there a few times, hiked some trails, and even driven through the drive through tree! I Googled F&P's magazine so I could check out your pattern. Pretty! You will have that whipped out in a day or two, easy! Where are you going to hang it? Will Sarah be using the same fabrics/colors? I really like jewel tones.

BECCA - sounds like Mark had the flu BAD! Must have been a rough ride home for them. Nice, though, that they had their own house to stay in while they were sick and not infect you and CA. So nice to receive that restaurant certificate! This is like the birthday party that never ends!

Supper tonite will probably be Minestrone soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. We're having a big dinner here tomorrow night with two other couples and I expect there will be lots of leftovers from that. So I want a simple, no leftover meal tonite.

Good afternoon! Just returned from walking Choc and Ava. This is a beautiful day—almost 60 degrees! No coat or hat today. So nice not to be freezing! Tonight is Audubon meeting. I can’t remember what the program is about, but they are always interesting and informative (and the refreshments after are never not delicious).

DH is out cutting brush from fence rows and fixing fence. I’m headed to my sewing room—still organizing and cleaning. I am going to be so happy when I can get back to sewing!

Becca—I love the pictures of you and your party! You are beautiful!!! That jadeite cake stand is lovely and such a compliment to the green and white theme. Your family did a wonderful job of party planning and execution. I think birthdays, especially those ending in zero and five, should last for weeks, months, and all year!

Mary—you are so busy! I’ve had lots of experience with those extra guests invited by the four footed kids.

Jana—that’s the prettiest project in the magazine.

Lori—you are amazing! I’m lucky to wash windows once a year (or less) depending on location.

Dinner tonight—either fajitas here or out on the way to Audubon. In that case, DH will opt for a burger, and I’ll get a salad.

Bon appétit!

Good afternoon!

I am finally here! The THEY got us again - knocked out the electricity yesterday, then when that came back on, the other THEYS got the phone line - AGAIN! It is finally all back on now. I am so ready to go up there and give them a piece of my mind, but I have so little to spare, I will behave myself! It will happen again, as the city is requiring the phone carrier to replace the entire stretch of line down the street they are working on, from one end to the other with new cable that will be buried underground and the street paved nicely and curbs and sidewalks added. Even the dirt stretch to my house will be paved this summer. No longer will be the directions to my house, have - turn off the paved road! LOL!

Mary - I saw three messages from you, but no message - how can I help?

Lori - the windows are going to be done around here - by the company that I hire! It is not too expensive and they will look good again. I had a friend in California that washed alll her windows once a week!

Chickie - Spring is getting here too - I took my jacket with me, just in case, but so far haven't needed it. We are getting rain here and snow up in the mountains.

Becca - love stretching out the BD! What fun!

Well, dinner is banned PNW fruit, roasted potatoes and asparagus.

Ethan will be here a bit later - he has misplaced his backpack and hopefully we will find it. Only has papers in it, so no great loss if it can't be found.

Off to sew - I am in the Batt Cave and just have to change the thread for the next color.

Enjoy!
Jana
