SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, March 19th
Good morning!
Today is St. Joseph's Feast Day and the day the swallows come back to Capistrano. And I finished all the hard work in the yard! so much to celebrate! We were 76* yesterday. And staying in the 70's today and tomorrow. I have to confess, I wouldn't mind a rainy day so I can rest! lol! Today I'll put out all my little woodland critters, gnomes, and cats. and we'll get out the patio table. Our seat cushions for it are so old that I restuffed them years ago. This year when I got them out they were dirty and covered in Riley's cat hair. So, after letting Scottie have a nostalgic sniff, I cut open the cushions, washed the covers, and spent TV time last night restuffing and handsewing them back together. They are clean and hair free, if faded. I also made a little bit of progress on my Alaska quilt. However, not enough to brag about.
Bill got the RV washed, though he was under hard scrutiny the entire time. We only got a few half-hearted clangs on the bowl. Disappointing. We expected more of a show.
Since I've been writing this, Foxy brought in a live baby mouse. It was on the stairway and he and the dog were chasing it. I got a box and the three of us put on quite a performance as we all tried to catch it. Bill stood out of harm's way on the landing, watching the show. Bill doesn't do mice. It finally got away from all of us and ran into our bedroom and now it's under my dresser. Sigh. I love cats. I love cats. I must remember, I love cats.
TINA - I can't wait to give your green chili sauce a try. Nice to have real help in the garden. All I've been doing is cleaning up fall and winter debris. I'm planting nothing new as we won't be home this summer to take care of it.
CHICKIE - even a slow day at your house runs circles around me! But sounds like you've been REALLY busy, even for you! I notice sewing wasn't on that list of your week's activities. How long will Tasha be staying? Is she still interested in sewing at all?
BECCA - oh, Vicki has taken a lot of our yard things. Some we've found hidden in the woods but most have never shown up. When we asked about them she just gave us a smug, knowing smile and wouldn't say a word. So we no longer put anything on that side of the house. Have fun with the kiddoes if they come by today! Is CA feeling any better?
IRISH - OMG! You do realize that Pentagon jail is a bit bigger deal than the regular jail you're used to, don't you?? And is D.C. that close to you? I thought it was about 350 miles. OH wait! You took that ILLEGAL shortcut! Well, anyway, I'm just glad you found your yarn!
JANA - You'll get used to your new table quickly, I'm sure. and I love how you described your lamps. I like rustic look. And I love impromptu parties the best! It's always fun to scramble and see what you can pull together at the last minute. And it's (almost) always a success! And tell us more about Stu's young lady friend . . .
This morning we're going to the Farm and Garden store (Wilco) and buy pet food, a new garden rake, and clippers. I've worn out all my tools! Then - on with the day! Supper is going to be pork chops on the grill, salad, and either rice or noodles - Billy's Choice. Last night it was so nice that we even ate out on the deck and watched TV out there for two hours before we had to come in. A taste of what's to come!

Good Morning Maryz. Sounds like you are having a crazy morning already. Molly used to bring in lizards. We didn't know she brought them in until they scurried across the floor.
I missed a few days. I come by and read in the morning, then go to post and get distracted.
Don't know what we will do for dinner yet. Maybe Teriyaki chicken and rice with some veggie. I could change my mind though, which is usually the case.
Have a lovely day. Lori

Good morning
)
I really love my enchilada sauces that I make, I can't do store bought anymore LOL I'm my own worst enemy ;o)
Mary, we had a beautiful day here too yesterday, I kinda over did it so think I'll try to not do any yard work today.
Frankie, ended up being off yesterday, he went to work and the boss and the other 2 top guys had an emergency to go to the night before up in the Northern part of the state and they forgot to leave keys with anyone, Frankie isn't sure what days and hours he's working for sure this week to make his hours....he has options LOL I won't know till he decides.
We're supposed to have a fairly nice week this week. I need to seriously clean my backyard soon. My Turtles are up a lot now and I love feeding them!
Lori, I do the same.....sometimes I think I've been here and haven't too LOL Other times I think a day or 2 has passed and it's been a week! LOL I'm a mess. ;o)
I think pork chops sound really good! Not sure what time Frankie will be home so not sure if they can be cooked outside....I'm just full of not sure this morning. ;o)

Tina, is the enchilada sauce hard to make? I make enchiladas in large batches and freeze them. We had some the other night and they were delicious. I bet homemade sauce would make them even better.

Lori, no it's really really easy to fix. I made the sauce while my hamburger cooked and while I heated the corn tortillas, total time from start to giving everyone their enchiladas was only 30 minutes.

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, March 19th
Good afternoon!
I have been fixing my dumb stupid sewing mistake! I sewed the knee lining of the baseball pants I am fixing to the back leg, not the front - you could not get a foot through, I had them sewed shut! Silly me! So with the mom due at any time, I broke out my trusty seam ripper and ripped out the seam - a serged seam! Well, I made it and they are fixed and ready to go. Should have stayed up last night and did them, not hurry this morning. My mom always said, " the hurrier I go, the behinder I get" - that was me today! Oh how mom's are so right!
Ethan is walking here today and may start doing so for the rest of the school year. Sarah can pick him up from here. She is getting quite busy with all the details of scheduling the sod cutting, orders, and delivery here in the northern area of Utah. Not only is she handling her company's orders, she is doing the wholesale orders as well. Grass only grows so fast! But there are many many many acres of sod on the farm in southern Idaho.
Dinner - I still want my corned beef, so will go to the store in a bit and buy one or two and freeze the extra one.
Not much else here - a few uglies are staring at me upstairs, but since Iam in the Batt Cave, they can stare all they want - I can't see them! LOL
Tina - thanks for the recipe - Sarah and I are trying all kinds of Mexican sauces - mole being one that we love. I also prefer the green enchilada sauce and have copied your recipe! A grocery store here in town get Hatch chiles, roasts them for you and you bag them by the bag - they are definetly going in the freezer this year!
Becca - what a fun party that will be - Queen for the Day!
Lori - we are getting your rain a few days after you. It will be a warm rain and start melting our snow. Your trip here may just be very nice, weather wise. If it does snow, it melts off right away. I don't know if you have ever found a quilt shop in Ogden - it is called Gardener's Quilts. When we went to Cache all the time, I would stop there and resupply my stash to take back home to California. Our parents lived in Cache Valley and in Kaysville at that time.
Mary - I am getting ready to start my outside decor as well. But no hex's here! Ethan will help me. Your Alaska quilt will be beautiful and I have no doubt it will be done long before you leave for Alaska.
Well, need to get going and get into trouble, I am good at that!
Enjoy,
Jana

I have been to that one - up the canyon on a shop hop a couple of years ago. Gardeners is in south edge of Ogden, not too far from the I-84 interchange in Riverdale - Wall Avenue - if they haven't moved again. My favorite is still The Quilter's Lodge - otherwise known as Thimbles and Threads in Draper. I can't remember the name of one in Bountiful, it had many fabrics that were Thimbleberries, styles and colors. It seemed like a very good little LQS.
