SUPPER CLUB - Friday, March 8
Good morning,
We are cold, but no snow this morning. I call that progress. After all, spring starts in less than two weeks!
Yesterday I cleaned my pantry, my overflow back pantry, and the fridge. Made a grocery list for events for this weekend and next week. Then I went for a massage, and after that, kind of just sat and read the rest of the day, letting the massage 'set'. I did wash and fold some fabric. Today - clean the laundry room. Bill replaced some ceiling tiles above the washer & dryer. To do that he had to empty out a lot of dusty stuff. So rather than put it all back, I want to clean first. It was on my spring agenda anyway. Then I will finishing washing fabric, go to hair appt, grocery shopping. Maybe I'll get into my sewing room later. Still haven't come up with a block for my Tea Party swap. I have ideas, but so far, none of them are clicking for me.
BECCA - I hope all your family is on the mend soon. Thank you for your comments on my quilt photos. The ISBS quilt only looks that big. It's 74"x88". There are no table runners. I suspect you were looking at the photo where I folded 3 different quilts. They are all from the same swap and very similar except for sashing and borders so I put them together in one picture. All three are about 56"x70". The black quilt is a little smaller yet. All of these quilts are from QIAD swaps. How did your DGD's presentation go?
TINA- I can get distracted by yard work, too, when the weather is nice. Did you get it all done yet? You are making great progress on your tea party swap block design! I'm still in a quandry about mine. I have a few ideas but can't seem to settle on one.
JANA - our kids have a large deck made of Trex. They had trouble with some of the boards warping in the sun. I think they replaced those boards and used a different pattern when screwing them down to the supports. Don't know if it makes any difference, but their deck is ground level. Men! They talk about women having eyes in the back of their heads but somethings I don't think men have them in the front, even! lol!! Though with mine, I have to admit, he only has one good eye, so maybe he has half an excuse for not seeing things that are right in front of his face.
CHICKIE - I know you and, hopefully, Odie, are off to Mom's today. Will this be a 9 to 5 day for you? Who takes care of Choc and Ava if you are at Mom's? You probably can't take EVERYBUDDY with you!
IRISH - how you doing? Feeling any better?
Our chicken noodle soup last night was good, but different. I added a few leftover bits of our fried apple/sweet potato/onion mix from the night before. The soup was good, but different. We have 2 servings left that will probably be lunch. I have ham and eggs for supper and can fry up a russet potato for supper.
What's your plan?

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Friday, March 8
Good morning! I have a few minutes to chat before I leave for my “Mom sitting”. I need to run by Fastenal and get some bolts for my truck. My skid plate was hanging by one bolt yesterday, and DH didn’t have any metric bolts to fit it. I’m also going to stop and get salads for Mom and me. My sister said she was eating better and might like a taco salad.
No, I don’t take everyone with me. I walk Choc for 48 hours on Mondays and Tuesdays (several times a day—don’t want ladies being in distress!). I walk Ava at noontime Monday through Thursday. Her mommy gets off work at one on Fridays. That’s why I kind of set up Friday as my all day Mom sitting day so my sister and brother-in-law can have a long break if they want.
Yesterday I went in and helped my sister give Mom her shower and hair wash. They have a real nice set up just off Mom’s bedroom. Still, it takes two to get the job done.
My sister is getting a hair cut today and they are going out for lunch. DH and I are going out this evening—to the annual Lenten Friday “Fry” at the Catholic Church. I always look forward to the dinner and getting together with friends we don’t see often since it’s 75 miles over there.
Oh, Mary—I put together an embroidery kit. Mom had transferred cat designs to make, and I put together some threads to make a variety of kitty colors. This will keep me occupied for a very long time. She used an extremely high thread count fabric (definitely not for embroidery or hand work), but I hate not to use it since the designs are all stamped for me. I also have a book.
Today’s “job” will only be several hours. I may go tomorrow after coffee with my friend if they want a longer day. Next Wednesday I will have a 14+ hour day so they can go to Kansas City.
Yesterday I spent over 2 hours on my floors only to have them a colossal mess 2 hours later. I think I swept them again 2 more times, and they were back to a mess this morning! It’s never ending here! I cleaned and cleaned then did an abbreviated yoga program to find my zen again.
You’re probably bored with hearing about me today. Mary asked… I think I gave her more than she wanted!
Anyway… you know what we are having for dinner! Mary is groaning. But, this event is just once a year. Mary’s soup is as experimental as mine. Sometimes they are winners… other times not so much.
Bon appétit!

Hello everyone, rainy here but sun pops out for a few minutes then gone.dGS come over & put some concrete pavers along drive down close to development. They don’t keep their road up & it will make pavement break.Their trucks caused the problem but they are long gone. The Bank owns the place now & wants to do no upkeep. So we take care of it.as we don’t want pavement breaking off.
Maryz DGDs Presentation went well. She attended a class on a robotics kit used in class teaching .From what she got there she developed a Lego robotics Kit that she took to her Children & teachers at her School. She developed a curriculum to integrate technology with science and math using the kit.
Your quilts were all beautiful.Sorry I thought it looked like a runner the way it was folded.
Chickie That’s great Mom is eating better.Youre such a great DD.And Those Hooligans Have no idea How fortunate they are.Oh the Floors.Thats my job once I finish here.
Jana Im convinced men only can see the front shelf & in closets what jumps out in front.
Irish Sure hope you are feeling better each day & the sun is reaching you.
Tina I get lost doing yard work & don’t want to stop unless my back tells me.
DGS visited with us while we had lunch.Hes on a special diet so he didn’t want to eat.He is running too for exercise so he watches his diet.
I got 3 little bears done for Police cars.We have soup left & baked sweet potato.Tons of goodies.DS brought us lots yesterday from his girlfriend. She Too looks after CA.lol

Good afternoon!
It has been snowing for about 5 hours now. The good thing is so far, it is not sticking!
Sarah was just here getting some stuff printed for the Home Show this weekend. The Sod Company has a booth and she will be working the crowds today and late tomorrow. She is very good at that. Early in the morning tomorrow, she, Ethan and Michael are heading to Ogden for a train show. I am staying home , watching Gracie and Lila.
No further word on Kate's father. The sister is getting worse by the day. No pictures with the parents at the wedding because her dad is in a wheelchair. One good thing, when she looks back on all the pictures, the evidence of her stupidity wil be recorded forever, no pictures with her family, especially her dad. Something she will live with always.
Sewing today. Dinner - soup I think.
Gotta scoot,
Enjoy,
Jana

What fun, I won a trivia contest on the Pioneer Woman website. A $100! It is a Amazon gift card, humm.... wonder what quilting stuff I need!
