Supper club. Sunday, dec 2

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Dec 02, 2018 2:46 am

Good morning,

Last night we went with our friends to the little town of Hildalgo, about 15 miles east of Mission. We caught a tram that drove us through the town’s light display, said to be the largest in Texas with over 5 million lights. It was pretty neat. However, please don’t tell Texas, but both Bill and I prefer our Zoolights display at home. Plus, i was starting to feel better, which is why i decided to go along, but the 30-mi tound trip, the 10 block walk to/ from the tram, and the very bumpy half-hour tram ride while sitting on hard wooden seats re-activated my leg problems. Two of the other three ladies in our group are nurses, too, and they’ve “diagnosed” my problem to be possible sciatica. Maybe. Anyway, after a rough night I’m feeling some better again. So thankful that we finally ditched our oh-so-uncomfortable couch last Wed and bought two rocker/ recliners at Lazy Boy here in town. MUCH more comfy. I will be spending most of the day in my chair, hopefully watching Seahawks.

Supper here will be mini-meatloaves “baked” outside in dutch oven with mashed potatoes and spinach salad.

Good morning!

Mary - good to see you and happy to hear you are doing better. I absolutely love my Lazy Boy rocker recliners! When my leg and hip are bothering me, it is one place that I can sit and not hurt.

Dinner - Ethan will be here, so it might be chili. He likes that. Well, he likes everything! We will make rice krispy treats for afters.

It is snowing hard. So far we got 6 inches overnight. And it is still coming down. Matt borrowed and returned our Solara, but parked it too far over towards the middle of the driveway, so Michael needs to shovel and move it to the proper spot. I need to be able to back out the Highlander from the garage. The driveway is able to handle both the car and Highlander, but barely. The young men are over at the church shoveling so we can get in the building safely. They are good at doing that. Might needs be that Santa brings Michael a snow blower. It is looking like it will be a snowy winter this year. Santa will have to file a EIR first - environmental impact report - how and where the snowblower will be put. I did even file a EIR for the new freezer. LOL! It is a huge joke here, but necessary.

Becca - saw that you got the weird weather. On Friday, a plane landing here at SLC was struck on the wing tip by lightning. It landed fine. Once in awhile we get thunder snow, but that is rare.

Well, time to get ready for church,

Enjoy!

Jana

Good morning! Mary, so glad you are feeling better!!! I was going to check on you in a few if you weren’t here yet. Sorry your outing was uncomfortable, but it does sound like a fun time. It’s been ages since I’ve gone to a big light display.

Jana—SNOW! EEEK!!! Hope it doesn’t reach me anytime soon! Although, it would keep me inside and sewing. Save me some rice krispie treats! Chili is always good, and always welcome on a snowy evening. We had thunder storms the other evening, and we have had thunder snow. That’s really a strange phenomenon!

Sorry this is short! We are going to leave in a few to go “look at” another piece of woodworking equipment about an hour away from here.

Dinner tonight… I have chicken fajita breast thawing, so will make a chicken taco salad or chicken fajitas. They both sound awesome now!

Bon appétit!

Hi all! I am late to the table. Got sidetracked with opening Secret Santa package. Lyn and I opened together. So fun!
Then I sewed for a little while, too. Supper is in Crock-Pot and the smells are delightful. Thick pork chops. Will make mashed potatoes and veggies to go with.
