Supper club wed Nov 28

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Nov 28, 2018 1:19 am

Good morning. I am dictating on my phone so this will be short. We have limited Internet and cell here in South Texas. Still better than Padre Island where we had nothing for a few days. I posted in the sew-in if you want to catch up with other doings. Too much effort to dictate AND CORRECT it all twice. We will be in Mission, Texas for a week, going back to Georgetown next Wednesday, December 5. Where we will stay put until time to leave texas in January. It should be about 80° here for most of the coming week

I read everything y’all posted yesterday. I was especially anxious to hear how CA did at Thanksgiving, Becca

Chickie, love your decorating idea but the tree actually blew out of your truck?

Irish, it has never occurred to me to change my bathroom decor for the seasons other than to put my little outhouse Santa on the back of the toilet in December. 🎅

Other Mary, how soon until your new sewing room is done?

Jana, nice to have those elves come calling to help decorate your tree!

Velda, do you decorate the inside of your RV? We have lights and Garland at the top of the slide. Christmas quilt over couch, and 3 foot tree on the table. But the tree won’t go up until we get back to Georgetown

We are with our friends and yesterday his sister and DH flew in to spend the week with them. They hadn’t eaten all day and our friends had nothing planned so we and our other friends pulled together an impromptu taco feed with rice, beans, and lots of fresh veggies . Turned out OK if not Wolfgang puck quality. ( and I sure hope my phone doesn’t mess with Wolfgang‘s name when I hit send on this post! ). This supper challenge was complicated by the fact that the visiting sister is vegan.

As for tonight, the friends brother-in-law said he was buying dinner for everybody at a restaurant. But didn’t say which night. So we may or may not be going out. Otherwise, we will be grilling chicken outside, with potatoes and spinach salad on the side .

WhAt’s bubbling in your pot tonight

Good morning! We are overcast, but it was 30 degrees this morning! That’s so much better than teens! I have Ava walking today. She went with us to walk Choc yesterday. Since she had been to the doggie beauty shop on Monday, she wore her cute little red coat with brown “fur” lining. What a cutie! She loves her apparel! She had so much fun that she did not want to go back home.

I found my sewing room and completed a table runner top and have two more ready to put together. I’ll do marathon quilting when I finish all the tops.

Jana—I lived in a new development, and the contractors were ALWAYS cutting off the electricity—on purpose or accidental. It was pretty frustrating at times. What was the kitchen store you went to?

Irish—I’ve heard of shoofly pie but not shoofly cake… divulge, please! I definitely think you should test the recipe again! YUM! And, I do love tortellini—I want to come to your house! I know what you mean about needing others to see what the care entailed. DH’s siblings had no idea what I went through with their mother. After our house fire, one of them found out; then the daughter lasted 3 days when she was supposed to have her mother for a week.

Becca—LOL! Yes, I do seem to be the mint machine. It’s how I can contribute to the wedding process. I used to volunteer to do the wedding cake, but I haven’t for the last several GKs.

Mary-RN—How exciting to be planning/constructing your new sewing studio! Enjoy your space!!! I had some problems uploading my posts, too. Some days I want to chuck the whole computer into the pond! Hope your DH is feeling much better with your nursing attending to him! Don’t want to deal with sick husbands—at least not in this house.

Vel—I really enjoy my yoga. I just tape programs and play them. I think I’m old enough to be the grandmother to all of them, but I try to keep up. There are definitely the head/handstands I cannot do and will not try. I’d hate to break my neck! As klutzy as I am, it would happen! I fall off some of my poses as it is when my balance fails me.

MaryZ—yay! You have some internet for a bit! I’d sure like to have your temperatures! My sister lived in Corpus Cristi ages ago when one of the hurricanes blew through. Yes, the cedar tree blew completely out of the bed of the truck and is on the ground. I’ll have to get DH to help me put it back in today. It takes two people to load it! I had a turkey quesadilla last night for dinner—definitely not vegan, but yummy. Enjoy your dinner in or out!

I received a package yesterday from my cousin. It’s a corduroy quilt my mom made him many years ago. The backing and batting are shot. Guess what my job will be after the holidays…

Dinner tonight… I have just a little bit of the leftovers, and I’ll make them into something to be determined later. That quesadilla I had last night may be on repeat!

Bon appétit!

Good morning!

Good to see you Maryz and that you are having lots of fun. Foxy is expecially happy to be there too! Lots of birds! Perry would lay across a tree branch just outside the office big window. Flatting his body on the branch, as to hide from the birds, then chirp like a bitd, hoping that he could entice one close to have a bit of a snack. He was a birder!

Dinner - turkey something concoction. I frose most of the rest, but kept out some for a meal or two. I still have some gravy as well.

After yesterday's interruption, I have laundry going and the kitchen cleaned up. I worked on creating my garland for the two outside front windows. Sarah will be over this afternoon to attach the command hooks and then the garland. I saw this window decor on Pinterest and knew I could copy it for here. Even though I have brick, which the command hooks won't work, I have a smooth section on my shutters that they will. Then we will add a piece of wire to hold the garland to the hooks. We have lots of wind and I don't want the garland to end up at Maryz house!

Well, washer is singing it's I'm done song,

Enjoy,
Jana
