SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, Oct 6
Good morning!
Wild night here! I went to be early, was sleeping soundly, when Bill woke me about 10:30. Foxy had brought in a baby bunny and turned it loose. And the chase was on! With a lot of 'help' from Scottie, and Foxy, of course, Bill was getting no where by himself. We locked the kids up and then started upending furniture as the bunny ran from couch to chair to end table. Finally he ran into the garage (we'd opened the door for him) where Bill caught him in a box and took him out into the woods to turn him loose. This kind of thing goes on a LOT around here! After that I was awake until after 2am. I finally got up and cleaned my sewing room, then had a snack, then read several chapters in my book. I have to keep reminding myself sometimes how much a love my pets. Hard to remember at times like these.
Today - 2 more loads of wash, vac'g, mopping, dusting, bathrooms, and plan some food for our friends' visit. She said she is bringing something for tomorrow night's supper. And Monday night we're going out. But we'll need some snacks and lunch things.
We picked up my new Bernie yesterday afternoon so I set it up and finished 6 lotto blocks. Today I hope to have time to play with some of its features. It's a model B-480.
IRisH - congratulations on your little Lena Rose!! Love the name Lena, but Rose is one of my all-time favorite names. I've often wished I'd given it to one of my girls, Lara and Autumn, for a middle name. I'm so happy you have a wonderful, sweet, life-affirming event in your family!! I know Jim is looking down and smiling on you all! I did have to laugh about you unloading your car at Goodwill's back door and then driving around to the front and going in to shop! haha! You sound just like me!
CHICKIE - you had such a fun day with your DD! Nice finds at the thrift shops. Doyal really dodged one yesterday if you didn't kill him after he walked on your clean floors. I think I'd start locking the door so he'd have to knock to get in. Then you could monitor the dirty shoe situation. We'd be having war at our house if that happened more than once.
TINA - happy wedding day!! I know you're busy. Hope you get in a rest before the ceremony starts.
JANA - I was really feeling for your poor head the other day. Then yesterday morning I was on my knees cleaning the trailer shower and when I lifted my head I hit it on the outer latch that holds it in place while trailer is moving. You don't want to hear my first thought (though you probably know what it was!) but my second thought was of you and YOUR head!
VICKY - long time no see!! I think of you often and wonder how you and all your family are doing. It's like reading a good book and then losing the book before you finish it! Emily? Tia and babies? Caleb? Congrats on your DGD's marriage! That sewing injury sounds bad! OUCH! Hope it all heals eventually. What kind of painting are you doing? House? Portraits? Rocks? Watercolors? Come back again!
LINDA - welcome back! Sounds like a nice, relaxing camping trip. So was ours except the last morning (yesterday) was pouring rain. It rained all the way home and into the night. Good thing I like rain! Sorry about the losses in your circle. Especially your friend's hubby. How was the fair?
PAM - sometimes you have the most interesting meals. Are they actual recipes or do you just "concoct"? I would never think of combining coleslaw and salsa
Tonight we're going to have some mini meatloaves that I made and froze a while back. I also have some leftover mashed potatoes in the freezer so they're going into the oven, too. I'll toss a salad and maybe we'll have cooked carrots, as well. Not our favorite but we have them, so why not?
What's your supper plan?

I usually make up my meals as I go along. But I didn't put the coleslaw and fresh salsa together. Dan likes lots of little offerings like a buffet.
I will tell you all about lunch, because dinner is too far away. We are having a sew dy at Mom's house with a friend. I brought butternut squash I have baking in the oven. I sprinked it with pepper and cinnamon, and threw a couple cloves of garlic in the bowl of the squash to bake with the butternut. I will blend it with beef broth and swirl in greek yogurt at the end. It won't count for any WW points! Mom made blue berry pie. I ate zero point foods for breakfast so I could have a piece of pie. It costs half the points for the day! Our friend brought cold cuts and bread. I will check the bread out, but I may just cut up some cold cuts and make a salad out of it.
My brother is doing well, and is home, again. My husband is having a weekend in, this weekend. The dogs will enjoy that. It is starting to get cooler, so my Uncle is getting itchy feet to return to his son in Florida. He has been staying at Mom and Dad's and likes to do a lot of helping out, when he is here. He tiled their upstairs bathroom floor, this year.
We havent been doing as much camping as we used to. So, Dan bought a small tent and has been camping out in our yard, sometimes. He is so cute. He tried to get Daphne doggie to stay with him, but she got scared of the dark and ran for the house. I lay out in the tent with him for a few minutes. That isas long as my body likes laying on the ground.
Have a lovely day, and enjoy your sewing!

Good afternoon!
In between sessions of General Conference. Heading into the kitchen to stir up a large batch of white banned chowder. Some for dinner today and I will be freezing for dinners I don't have to cook! Also picked up some sourdough bread yesterday to serve with it. It will simmer in the crockpot.
Mary - ouch! Mine is still tender where I smacked it. Bunny chasing in the middle of the night is not a good idea.
Pam - glad to hear your brother is doing so well. His idea that he is going to succeed is paying off! My boys often would pick their tents in the backyard and camp. I drew the line on open bonfires. We gad way too many big trees and the city frowned on such things.
Irish - congrats on little Kena Roses's arrival. She will be a cutie, of course, she is your grandbaby!
Tina - tomorrow is put up your feet and rest, it is all over! Know it was a happy day!
Becca - know family is there and that is a great thing!
Enjoy,
Jana

TINA - how did the wedding go?
