Supper club, Friday, sept 14
Hi there! In Ely, NV last night. Definitely not a destination place but a good overnight stop. Will be in Richfield Utah today It’s been nice making short travel days. I even got to sew yesterday and started my second Gypsy Dancer.
Irish, What a bummer about the carpet! You can pretend you’re camping until the new rugs, and hopefully correct , come. And you won’t even have to leave home or the kitties! Please give your sister a hug for me. It’s a rough row she is trying to hoe. As we know. Gosh, it sounded like a really bad poem.
Linda, sorry you didn’t like Tahoe. It is one of my favorite places. We haven’t been there in several years though.
Jana, snake river is really pretty. Just be nice if it had a different name though, wouldn’t it That’s a LOT of groceries!
Pam, so happy to hear your brother is making progress. I suspect if he went home at this stage progress with slow greatly. And would be a huge responsibility on his wife . I know he wants to go home. Who wouldn’t!
Becca, I hope the storm is passing you bye!
Got to hurry, my phones battery is almost dead. I have no clue what dinner will be tonight. Maybe we will grill a steak and share it.

Good morning!
Mary - the only thing in Ely is the steam train that you can pay for the opportunity to drive it. Anyone can rent time to be the engineer, with another real qualified engineer and drive the train out on the rails. I have even operated a diesel engine up in the Feather River run by the Western Pacific Railroad. Scary, but fun! The big fire is up in the Spanish Fork Canyon and merged with another, so it has grown huge. The Pole fire has closed several major roads.
Dinner - Ethan will be here. His favorite meal is tacos, but will pretty much eat anything.
Ethan will be spending the weekend. He loves to have dleepovers at Grandma's house.
I am making a pillowcase and two totes today. One Christmas and one halloween. Everything is cut out and waiting for me.
Becca - prayers for your safety!
Enjoy,
Jana

Good morning! I missed yesterday, but we didn’t starve. DH came home early from geezer coffee, and I got side tracked. The baby quilt is progressing—sandwiched and started quilting yesterday. I’m so pleased with it! It is such a happy little quilt. The Hooligans and I had a quick road trip to the LQS (as quick as a 60 mile round trip can be) for a bit more fabric—I miscalculated and needed more for binding. I got enough to do the backing for my sister’s birthday table topper and also another piece to make a baby quilt from the leftovers of the charm pack. I’ll be ready when the next baby comes—hopefully it’s a boy as I got blue because I used all the mainly pink pieces for this quilt.
Irish—glad you stood your ground and are getting the carpet you really want! Even if it means a delay—you’ll be happier with it in the long run. Those fur babies sure can talk even if they can’t say words. They do make you understand them. It’s so funny around here, too. So glad you are spending time with your sis and that her card club is also occupying her time! I know the business is difficult for her and will be good to wind it down.
Linda—sorry about Lake Tahoe. Seems like everywhere we go is under road construction with lots of delays. Never trust a GPS! LOL!!!
Pam—congratulations on your continuing weight loss! It’s so difficult, but rewarding. My big problem now is maintaining. There’s a fat lady in my body trying to get out!!!
Jana—thank you for the Snake River lesson! It is a beautiful river. I think one of my favorites is the Truckee in California. I remembered it from the train rides to Kansas in the summers, then I got to drive next to it when Mom, DD and I took our road trip. It was still so beautiful and full of special memories even 30 years later! You are so organized with your pantry! I admire that!!!
Becca—so hope all is good with you and you aren't washing down the mountain. That rain expected is just mind boggling! The most I’ve ever seen here in one night is 10”. More than that is just incomprehensible.
Mary—have fun with your new gypsy quilt! The other one just dances with color, and I’m sure this one will as well. Safe travels to you!
Dinner here—DH will have the last of his Chinese takeout, and I will have squash “noodles” with maybe Alfredo and mushrooms. Or, it might be something else with squash noodles—stir fry over rice. I’ll wait for inspiration just before time to eat.
I’m off to quilt on the baby quilt, then the Hooligans and I will walk down to see Ava, and back to the quilting projects. We are back to almost 90 degree days here, but the nights are cooler (upper 60s), so Fall will be in the future…
Bon appétit!

Hello everyone,Here just barely. Its been a wild week.DS moved his clothes in today & lots of other things in basement.Oh my ,plus all his food from frigerator & freezer.
But so glad to be able to help him after the horrible divorce he has been thru.No words to describe.
Maryz I loved the picture of your set up.Very pretty place. Thanks for the Prayers & concern. My Heart goes out to those displaced people.Homes lost & cars .
So sad to see the people & their faces.it is supposed to be here by Sunday. The most rain we ever had at one time was 20 ins but that wasn’t here. When we get lots of rain here trees come down & power lines go.Just what is happening at the coast.
Jana Cannot imagine driving a train or being in control of one.Enjoy Ethan .I know the joy they bring.
Chickie Those hooligans are so lucky they found you.And you can keep busy with your sewing plus all your other duties.
Irish Stand Your ground.Cannot imagine someone getting a carpet order wrong. My DH was in the business for years & that never happened.Prayers for DS.
Glad she is getting out wth Friends.
Pam Good for you withm WW.Slow is the best way to take weight off.
I have the mumbo dance going with more to go.DS took his laundry upstairs but After he left I got it.Knew it would be sheets towels bedding from stripping the house of everything.CA said he could never move.He would have to leave & let others do the work. Then you realize just how much Stuff you have.
May be burgers or chicken.Something easy. Becca

We had portabella pizzas and salad for dinner, with salad. I made ranch dressing with fat free greek yogurt and buttermilk. For dessert, we had
with yogurt and peanut butter powder and cocoa. I added sugar to Dan's. I am feeling tired, today. May head off to bed early. Daphne doggy wouldn't mind. She especially loves bedtime.
