Supper club, Thursday, sept 13

Good morning!

Short note today. Typing with one finger in tiny phone keyboard is limiting.

Becca I pray you have no “storm issues”!

Jana, so glad that fire is out! Let it be the last!

Tina, how you feeling today? Hope no one else in your household is sick.

Chickie, your baby quilt is adorable!

Velda, what did your DH do to his arm that he can’t fish?

Irish, have kitties forgiven you yet? Glad we can take ours with us. Not sure he is though. 😾(Foxy) 😸 (us)

Pam, how is your DB doing? How goes WW?

Carole, we love any day you stop by! Is Ken improving after his shot?

We’re in Jackpot, NV at the moment. Heading for Ely tonight. Have been traveling only about 250 miles/ day. As my driver gets older he gets crankier with longer days. So we drive for about 5 hours and have long afternoons to read, walk, play games, and he naps. I put a photo of one if our Oregon campsites in todays sew- in.

Not sure about supper. I have mini meat loaves in freezer so might do that with baked potato and stuffed little crookneck squash. Though I’m not sure what I’ll stuff it with. Limited ingredients on board. Maybe just butter and brown sugar.

Good morning!

Mary - I think that the Snake river got it name from Lewis and Clark, from all the twists and turns that river makes on it's journey. When I lived in Idaho, just north of Idaho Falls, in Rexburg, never saw a snake. I.F., got its name from the sideways falls of the Snake river. Those falls are quite beautiful, right in the middle of downtown IF.

We have class tonight, so don't know what will be for dinner.

Still working on putting away all the groceries we got yesterday. About half finished. Takes a bit to adjust my inventory list and put the new in the back of the old, to keep it rotated. Then some sewing.

Be Safe!

Enjoy,
Jana

Morning everyone.

We are back from our mini vacation in Lake Tahoe. We were checking out the area to see if we wanted to take the RV there for camping. We stayed in an old historic hotel called Camp Richardson and the campground was just across the street. We liked the area but there were way too many people!! And they called this the "off season". We drove all the way around the lake, as well as did some hiking and taking in the sights. The biggest problem was so much road construction going on and having to stop in long lines of cars waiting to use the single lane. And one part of town had a mile of one whole side of the street torn up. Then our GPS took us a "new" highway route home that meandered all over the mountains and foothills. It was slow, windy going and there was even a large part of the road that had no dividing line in the middle because the road was only 1 1/2 lanes wide. Fortunately we passed very few cars. But we won't go on that road again! The ultimate decision is NO, we will not take the RV to Lake Tahoe.

We are really cooling in the mornings now, down in the 50's, but it still climbs into the high 80's and low 90's by afternoon. It is clothes layering time.

Nothing else scheduled for the rest of the week. House cleaning and gardening are all the usual chores. I will continue to work on my projects, both donation and promised.

Have a great trip Mary. We will probably just run up to Kings Canyon with the RV to our usual spot one of these weekends. Think our RV will remain "our cabin on wheels".

DH hasn't said what is for dinner tonight. He was messing around in the freezer this morning so we shall see. Gotta go catch up on all your doings this past week. Have a great day.

Hi, everybody. I have been running around a lot, lately. Was up to Buffalo, yesterday, after work. DB was able to walk 60 feet with a walker and minimal assist. So much progress. He is thinking about putting a bed in the dining room, tempirarily, to be all on one level. Wants to come home. DSIL says no way. They have a discussion to have.

I weigh in, tonight, expecting to be down a couple more pounds. I splurged on some Ruby Red, today. Lots of sugar in juice. Have been staying with the program, but I need to get my knee better so I can add more activity.
Have a great day!
Supper may be leftovers.
Love, Pam.

Good afternoon from warm, sunny, SW. Pa...We are having a gorgeous day so far but I'm learning not to get my hopes up too much, lately...It seems, our weather can change in the matter of moments and with that storm looming, you just never know....

Mary, so glad to hear from you, whether it be one finger typing or not...Hey, I know exactly how Bill feels...When you reach 39,(ok 49) you do have a tendency to get tired...I think the fur kids have forgiven me but they still give me the eye when I actually put my shoes on and head for the car...I keep promising, one of these times, I'll take them with me but I'd really have to be stoned out of my mind to do so...Just getting them in a carrier takes about 3 people each...2 mile trips to the vet and back is a nightmare....Kelly still talks a lot and BabyGirl still won't let me out of her sight..She is funny at night, when she wants to go to bed and I'm not, makes a big thing about yawning and pacing....Enjoy your travels, where ever they take you......Will make sure I check out your picture (and dream).....

Becca, did I read where your DS will be staying with you for awhile? That's wonderful, I love it! I always teased and said, as soon as the kids moved out, their room was "mine" but if they needed to come back, I was thrilled to death...(as long as it wasn't for too long, lol)....Enjoy ever minute.....

Linda, reading about Lake Tahoe brought back very good memories...Each time I go to Reno, Kathy and Tim try to take me to Tahoe and we always have breakfast at a place called the Log Cabin...Kathy's DH grew up in Tahoe, the lake was his back yard and he loves to show us around...But, sorry you won't be RVing there...But, I have a feeling, no matter where you go, it will be special.....

Jana, thank goodness the fire is out and no one lost their home...After seeing some of those fires out west, I just can't imagine being nearby....

Chickie, I have tried to spend time with my sister, she's really having a hard time...But, her card club started up again and she called me to fill in so that was a fun day....We are going to plan a few more day things, hopefully before it's gets colder....I think the thing that's keeping her awake nights is trying to take care of her DH's taxidermy business, getting people to come and pick up orders, get some animals/fish finished and then sell the equipment and close up the shop...One day at a time......

I've had a very interesting week....We had rain all weekend and that always means a sort of damp basement...This time it wasn't too bad but I did burn up a shop vac, lol..But, all the roads coming into out little town was blocked. we were surrounded by water...Mostly everyone had water in their yards and basements and it was a real mess...BUT I was to get my dining room carpet on Monday so had taken everything (that I could move) and put it in the living room...The men came before the floods hit and were working on the floor, got the padding down and then opened up the roll of carpet and asked me to look at it....OH NO, that's not what I ordered..I had beige plush and wanted something darker...They got on the phone, I got on the phone and I almost told them to go ahead and put it down, had a little cry and told them to take it back....SO now, I have to go pick out MY carpet and do this all over again...The stuff is still in the living room and at this point, I don't care....So maybe later today, I'll take a ride, maybe not....

As far as dinner, really not even thinking about it....I'm back to eating soft so we'll see what happens......I honestly don't need this drama in my life, lol......

You all have a great rest of the day.......

Happy eating..............

won't be long before it will be eagle time...Did anyone see the eagle that had landed on the crane (I think in NY) as they were getting ready for the 9/11 ceremony? It was quite a picture.......
