SUPPER CLUB - Sat, Sept. 1
Good morning,
We hit the road this morning, Only a few last minute things to put into the trailer, house windows to lock, timers for a couple of lamps, and forward the house phone to my cell. We want to get on the road early and over Snoqualmie Pass before traffic gets heavy. We don't normally travel any place on holiday weekends but when we signed up for this event, we didn't realize it was Labor Day. But we'll be fine. I never leave home without my St. Christopher medal and my Blue Line Cross. We're covered! Our friends are leaving early, too. We usually travel separately and meet up at the campground. They prefer to get up much later than we do.
We are going to do supper tonite at our campsite. Grilled steaks, baked potatoes, broccoli, salad, and lemon pound cake.
Y'all will have to nibble along without me for the long weekend. I should be back here Wednesday morning. Happy Supper Time!

“On the road again, on the road again…” Happy trails, Mary! Hope all is quiet at your home while you are gone!!! Have a great time!!!
I’m on the road, too—going to visit my DD and go to the annual Little Balkans Quilt Guild’s quilt show. It’s always Labor Day weekend with the city’s Little Balkans celebration. It celebrates the heritage of the Balkan immigrants who came and established communities and worked in the coal mines. The famous fried chicken places are all descendents of the original lunch providers to the miners. Can’t beat fried chicken in a lunch bucket! I’ll be bringing chicken home tonight and probably drop a dinner off to Mom as well.
The quilt guild always puts on a nice show, plus there are vendors—enough to warm the cockles of my credit card (whatever cockles are). Sometimes I see people I know from when I lived in Missouri, so it’s a fun trip all around. Of course, getting to spend the day with my DD and maybe DGD is priceless!
Not much else has been happening since I was here yesterday. Mom and I had a nice visit yesterday. I stopped and got a cherry limeade at Sonic and took her some chocolate chip cookies as well.
Happy Saturday!

I am on the road, today, too. Shuffling off to Buffalo to visit DB. He is back in MRU. Today is my second day on weight watchers. All I think about is food. I have an app that I can use to scan upc codes, and it will tell me how many points to use. Thank goodness cucumbers are free.

Good morning!
All my travellers arrived safely. Karlie is a little pixie! She found the toys upstairs and played with Ethan. It won't be long till I get a hug. I am making doughnuts this morning and she loves doughnuts. Grandma's know the secrets for a hug!
Dinner - pulled pork sandwiches, watermelon, potato salad, corn on the cob, coleslaw and who knows what else. The girls are bringing everything, but the pork. I did that Thursday, so it is already to go.
Daniel is finishing the Batt Cave bathroom, so, I will be down there, watching.
Enjoy! Be safe!

For all you travelers...safe trips! For all you visiting family, lots of hugs. And for the rest of us, enjoy the 3 day weekend.
Our weather should be nice. It will reach 90 but it will take all day to do so. Not much going on for us. Just finishing up the last of the dehydration...picking season is over. Then I will clean the unit and the trays and it will be put away until the apples come in.
Still working on samples and projects for my EPP class and finishing up my donation quilt. It is my turn to host our TLQ (Tender Loving Quilters) on Monday, so I have to do a deeper clean this weekend, get those webs off the ceiling and the dust out of the corners. DH washed windows for me yesterday.
Picked out new tile for the shower floor that has to be redone. Here is a warning: do not put stone on the floor, use porcelain. Stone shows and retains the wet, looking like the floor is stained. Now that it has been decided to redo the floor DH is settling down some. We have a plan.
Dinner tonight will be left over eggplant parmigiana we brought home after eating out at our favorite restaurant last night. It always tastes as good as the first time.
Have a good weekend.

Bob was standing using the parallel bars. With just the pt locking his knees against Bob's and holding his waist. Last week, they were using the overhead lift system. They did a new trick, today. The pt held the knees and waist, the assistant stabilized the shoulders, and Bob took one arm at a time off the parallel bar. He is sitting with better balance, and moving his head better.

Supper is baked mac n cheese with a yogurt mustard sauce on top. I also made a nice salad with chick peas, arrugala, mushrooms, radishes, cucumber, and green onion. I used up bunches of points putting enough ranch dressing on my salad. Everything else was free.
