Supper Club - Thursday August 30

Post by FarmChick » Thu Aug 30, 2018 3:15 am

I'm starting this early, but I'll be back... I wanted you to have the link to my Henry Glass projects. I also posted it in Sew In. Hope you will check them out. Thank you for looking!

We had a good trip to Joplin yesterday. I thought it might be my last dental appointment, but I go back in two weeks. I never mind going. My dentist's wife is a former department head at the university, and we got to know each other well there.

Dinner tonight will be left over Chinese take out. I'll try to get back here today and answer your yesterday's posts. But first... yoga! Followed by coffee. We had a thunderstorm, and Tinker Bell is pressed close. She will be fun with yoga!

Good morning!

CHICKIE, thanks for starting the thread! I went to the HG Blog and was blown away by all you've accomplished in such a short time! And all so beautiful! But nothing so lovely as you, yourself! and your mom, of course. Amazing photography! Kudos to Meagan! Thanks for sharing it all with us! Poor Tinkerbell. Maybe she should come live with me. We rarely have Thunder here.

PAM - glad your DB's spirits are good. It must be hard to keep his morale up.

BECCA - you get more chores done in a morning than I do all week long! You take that break - you've earned it!

JANA - haha!! (about the joke you told. Wish I knew a lawyer to share it with!)

TINA - I love your new term: "future projects". Your new turtles sound like good additions to your pond! I don't know one turtle from another unless one is big and one is little! what are their names?

Yesterday I got all my saved patterns organized in binders and then labeled the binders. I was left with some empty shelving and this, of course, called for some rearranging. I got laundry done and I also had a couple of hours to work on a tablerunner. This morning, after my walk, I'll do a little more packing in the trailer. Then we're meeting my brother, Al, for lunch at Denny's about 30 miles away. DH has a few errands to do in town as long as we're going so I'll take a book. Hopefully my new BLOCK magazine will arrive so I have that to look at while he 'errands'. Tonite's supper is going to be bacon and either pancakes or eggs. I found the bacon in the fridge and it needs to be used up sooon. I'd make carbonara but we just had alfredo. But, as usual, DH will tell me what sounds good to him.

Good Morning everyone,
WOW Chickie ,Im blown away by what you accomplished in such a short time. They did a great job picking you.And the photography is very professional. And I love your truck.Perfect for the article.I loved it all.Great job by a super Lady.

Maryz Morning is always my best time although I still get a lot done in afternoon too.?you too accomplish a lot each day.I like to feel I make a difference but so much of my time anymore is spent helping DH .He loses things or just misplaces them.Such is life.

I changed both beds , did the laundry ,dressed the beds. And some deep cleaning in Kitchen.I think it gets dirtier than any other room.
I bought some steak for DH.Will add fries. For me a banned salad. Becca

We had our entertainment this morning. The Mama & her Fawn was here Plus another doe that kept her distance.I think she is the one that had the tiny Fawn.Im just hoping nothing got it.The other Mama didn’t want her close to her Fawn.Ive read they will do that to other doe.

Good afternoon! DH had to go to Mound Valley and pick up his car that overheated when I went to Edna a couple of weeks ago It was ready to be picked up. Of course, since I was already on my way to Edna (The Quilters Patch) when I left DH at the garage, the Hooligans and I went on south. Well… a few fat quarters (more than a few) jumped into my bag for current and future projects. A good road trip was had by all!

Tina—I like “future projects”, and I have a bunch of those that haven’t been started. However, I definitely have UFOs! I’m so good at starting!!! We have turtles in our ponds. They sun themselves on partially submerged logs and branches. So funny to count all the ones lined up in the spring. They even pile on top of each other!

Thank you for all your kind comments about the Henry Glass challenge! I’m humbled. Meagan did an awesome job with the photography! It sure enhanced my offerings!

Mary—Tinker Bell would love to live where there is seldom thunder. Poor thing, she’s such a fraidy dog. I need to take inspiration from you and try to organize my patterns… some day!

Becca—Thank you! The Hooligans and I saw several deer on our road trip today. It was overcast and had been showering, so the deer were still active and hadn’t found their daybeds yet.

Pam—I swear by that cleaner! It’s so easy to use and keeps me from scrubbing time. I need to make some cobbler after the cake is finished. How sweet for your dad to do a care package! I always send care packages home after dinners. Often I get them from the DDILs and DD.

Jana—thank you for the comments, too! How cool to see the dolphins! We saw some when we went to Florida. I use the gluten-free lasagna noodles when I do lasagna. I also use red rice pasta for spaghetti. One of the DGDs is gluten free.

Tina—it’s getting darker so much earlier in the evenings here as well. I miss the long days! Love the lawyer joke Jana told!!!

Dinner—the Chinese take out, but I’ll also make some zoodles for veggies for me and maybe a salad if I don’t eat a big salad for lunch.

Bon appétit!

Good afternoon!

The road to you know where is paved with good intentions - then DH's get in the way! I had my morning planned out and then Michael needed to drop off his suit at the cleaners, but didn't want to make a whole big traipse out of it and I needed to stop at the store. So I went with him, and planned to go back out to the store, but he stopped anyway. That was a good thing! But I had scheduled to do the bedding in the guest bedroom and spruce up the bathroom before I went. Well, now that is in the washer and I am in the Batt Cave! Michael needed me to post all that we have spent so he can do the budget for next month. I usually hide when it is budget time! LOL! Now Sarah called and I need to get Ethan from school this afternoon - busy around here!

Mary - yes Gracie is growing up fast. She will be 4 in February. Lila, who literally was just born is now almost 5 months old!

Becca - since the neighborhood has grown and most have fences that the deer can't see around, we don't have many in the yard anymore. The deer still cross the horse field in my backyard, but not nearly as many as we had.

Chickie - love the old truck too! Just the right color - orange - but in this house we would call it Kobota Orange - that is what Michael's Dad had for his tractor. My kids, all of them, loved that tractor and could operate it too.

Well, need to get going - the washer sang, I changed it over to the dryer and those sheets will be done quick - they are microfiber and are almost dry when you take them from the washer.

Enjoy!

Chickie, I know people call you Miriam, but you will always be Chickie to me. Such pretty pictures. I will check out the link, again later, when I have time to read. You are a very busy lady.

I am at WW, waiting to start. Supper will be after. Mac n cheese, cucumber, stripey tomato.. Maybe a peach.
