SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Aug 29
Good morning!
Yay!! I finished my magazine project! Now I only have 2018 issues. and all my BLOCKS, of course. I won't get rid of those. They aren't really magazines but quilting books. I use them all the time. Even back issues.
Today I'll clean up the sewing room mess, run some errands, and then start packing the RV for our 3-day weekend. We're going to a wine club party in Eastern WA, about 230 miles away. Our friends, Gus & Claudia are going with.
LINDA - I'm SOO sorry about your construction woes! it does sound like you'll be tearing up the floor. When we go south we stay in Georgetown, TX at a Corps of Engineers Park. Really nice campground. Lots of trees, large spaces, picnic tables on cement slabs with solid shelters, firepits, power and water at the site. We do have to go up to the dump station at the park entrance about once a week to dump the waste tanks. there is also security. There are many Corps parks around the country but lots are in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and I've seen them in Montana, too. We have a book, Camping with the Corps, that gives locations of them all and descriptions, directions, and lists amenities. We camped at Lake Tahoe once, about 18 years ago. the campground we stayed in, on the CA side, was large, lots of trees, and beautiful woodsy sites. I don't recall if there was power and water at the sites. Probably was. But we carry enough water for a week and have a generator so we really didn't need the utilities anyway for a short stay.
CHICKIE - I hope things are quieting down in your world, if not cooling down. I can't wait to see how it goes with HG and all of yoru hard work! Will they display your projects on-line on their website or ????
BECCA, like you, I usually finish every project before I start another. All my UFO's are swaps. And silly me, all of them are double sets! So I guess since I have 2 sets of plaid lodge blocks that means I have 2 UFO's instead of just 1. Sigh. Glad you have the bear bells on order!
JANA - you are really mowing through your UFO's! Mine are in a 14x14x3 tote. Not so many. It's just DOING them is the thing here. There's always something else more interesting on my machine. lol! But I did clear out some closet space and 2 shelves by getting rid of all the magazines! Thanks for the flour lessons. I'm going to be reading labels on flour now, too! Seems anymore, I spend more time reading at the grocery store than shopping!
IRISH - Yesterday morning was your DBIL's memorial service and last night you flew to Vegas. What a day it was for you! Have a good time with your Kathy!
Tonite we may finally get to those burgers that I never made the other day. and I'll make seasoned jo-jo's in the oven. Some folks call them ranch fries.
Is there a plan yet at your house?

Good morning! We are to be cooler today! In the 80s!!! Yesterday was super high humidity and just miserable. I only have Ava to walk today on our way to Joplin.
Oh! I wish my UFOs were in such a small pile! I’m such a sluggard!!! I need to quit looking at new fabric and make up what I have and complete the UFOs that are still waiting for me to give them attention they need. As you can tell, I do not finish one project before starting another. I wish I did. My attention span is way too short is my only excuse.
Irish—I was thinking of you yesterday. Enjoy your time with Kathy!
Mary—when I lived at Lake Pomme de Terre, the café served JoJo potatoes. They were so good, but I’m sure they were not oven “fried”. The projects will be on the Henry Glass blog. They aren’t up yet. You can bet I’ll let you know!
Becca—My friend carries a golf club with her when we walk. It’s not for bears, but one day she got startled by a human when walking by herself on one of our roads.
Rose—so sorry about your tile! Hope your hamstring is feeling better! I have loads of humming birds. One tries to watch each feeder, but it’s futile when there are 30+ around each feeder especially in the evenings. They are fun! Ours are ruby-throats—the only ones we have here.
Pam—I use a homemade shower cleaner after every shower. I don’t scrub mine. It’s amazing. It’s ½ Cup rubbing alcohol, ½ cup hydrogen peroxide, 1 TBSP Jet Dry (dishwasher dry liquid), 1 tsp Dawn. Put in a 1 quart dark colored or opaque spray bottle and add water to make a quart. Spray shower, glass doors and/or curtains after each shower. I swear by it. You need the opaque to keep the peroxide active; they are sold in brown bottles for a reason. Sounds like you are super busy at work! Hang in there! How long is her baby leave?
Jana—You go, Girl, on your UFOs! Chili and rice sounds good. I like “spaghetti red”—chili over spaghetti with chopped onions, dill pickles and parmesan cheese. Hard to believe snow is falling anywhere when it “feels like” 100 here!
Dinner here will be Chinese take out!
Bon appétit!

Good morning
I've been MIA, been trying to get my snowmen all done by yesterday's deadline and I made it, woohoo! Now back to what I was working on. I've been so busy that I didn't get a chance to post, I tried reading most days but I know I missed a few.
We went last tonight and picked up 2 more turtles, I have 4 now
these 2 are huge! I guess they never saw grass before and we sat them down in the patch of grass by the pond and they were soooooooooo happy and started twisting and turning their big heads right down in the tall grass. 1 is a red eared slider and the other is a yellow slider, they've been together since they were tiny babies and have only been in a smallish tank....they totally out grew it. The people intended to put in a pond but never did and they decided to give them away to someone who had a pond for them but would still take care of them and feed them. They came right up to me this morning when I was feeding. With getting them now they'll be able to acclimate to the water as it gradually cools to very cold for the winter, so that's perfect for them.
I made chicken Alfredo last night and that might be supper tonight, not sure yet. I'm probably going to make soup for lunch, Easton has strep and isn't feeling to good and Preston is sick too, not sure if it's the same thing because he didn't get to theDr yesterday for them to do the culture on him. I hope he doesn't have it, plus he's not a medicine taker at all.
That's all I've been doing.

LOL we won't discuss my UFO's LOL I prefer to call them future projects
that way I'm actually ahead....blocks just waiting to get put together as opposed to jabbing to start from scratch blocks
Chickie, it was 65 when we walked this morning. It's getting hard to walk in the morning....It's starting darker for longer, I don't like walking where I can't see. We saw a rattlesnake 2 nights ago on our way home, Frankie got out to make sure what kind it was with help from the headlights, when he saw it was for sure a rattler, he ran it over.
I'm ready for Fall ❤

Good morning!
Beautiful day here. I can see the mountains and we are warming up to mid 80's. Summer isn't quite over, and we won't see over 100 until next year!
We pick up the kids at the airpost late afternoon and then hurry back to Herriman for Kate to do her test. Gracie found a pod of dolphins yesterday while she wss out on the deck of the condo they are staying at. Gracie was very excited and showed her parents what she saw. She knew what they were from the dolphins at Seaworld.
Getting the house ready for all the company that will here starting Friday. Daniel arrives, and that means the rest do too! We will be busy for a week. I do know dinner on Friday - spaghetti. I know that is a Karlie favorite. Saturday will be pulled pork sandwiches, potato salad. Those are two foods that are gluten free for Sandee. They will be over as well.
Tonight's dinner - probably pizza. We will see.
Mary - that sounds like a fun trip and not too far of a drive. Hope the smoke clears out. It is not fun!
Chickie - I will be checking out the Henry Glass site looking for your great artistic talents on dusplay!
Tina - your Frankie story reminded me of a joke I know. What's the difference between a dead lawyer and a dead rattlesnake? There are brake skid marks by the rattlenake. I too would have killed it!
Well, need to get going,
Enjoy!
Jana

I went to Mom's. We had sloppy Joes, corn on the cob, cucumbers, and blackberry cobbler. Daddy packed a care package for me to bring home to Dan. DB is in good spirits.
Chickie, that cleaner sounds like a good idea. I may have to try it.
My coworker is coming back in early Oct, hopefully.
