SUPPER CLUB - Sat. July 14

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Jul 14, 2018 3:09 am

Good morning!

Yesterday was a full day - 2 hours in the yard until it got too warm, 2 hours on our back deck, cleaning, sweeping, rearranging furniture, plants, decor, etc, 2 hours doing inside chores, and 2 hours in my sewing room working on Gypsy Wife. If you haven't seen what that is, and if you want to, you can Google it. It's a pattern by Jen Kingwell of Austraila.

Today, more yard work, maybe a load of wash, and more house work. And, of course, more sewing.

TINA, at least you were in your sewing room! Ironing in hot weather. UGH!

PAM, I'm not much into sweet drinks of any kind and rarely drink pop. I like LeCroix (pronounced La QUAH) Sparkling waters - my favorite is coconut. Just faint flavoring is all. Do they have it in your area?

LINDA - LOVE your photo! You are so pretty! And don't you just love the flowers in Leavenworth?? They are so brilliant and simply everywhere! I had a star jasmine in a big pot on our deck. It flourished one year, merely survived another 4 years, and then we had a strong freeze one winter when we were gone. End of my jasmine and my story. :o(

BECCA - I have a smooth rock that my first husband, Mike, and I found someplace back in the 70's while we were camping. Can't remember where. About the size of a squash, kind of flat. So I painted eyes on it and named him Pet Rock or P.R. for short. He lived on our doorstep, was stolen once, we got him back, and over the years I repainted his eyes a few times. Somehow he survived our fire and life upheavel in 1985 and then lived on the doorstep of this house for 30 years. I finally presented him to my son, young Mike, last year and he treasures P.R. and it now sits on HIS doorstep. and it was then that Mike, at the age of 42, was surprised to learn that P.R. is P.R. for Pet Rock and not Pierre! lol! And that's my big rock story.

CHICKIE - I would love one of your flat Kansas stones! Mike and I also scrounged building sites near our first home for rocks for our yard. We also transplanted ferns and wild columbine. We loved our yard better than if a professional landscaper had done it all.

JANA, you are a well of interesting trivia!

IRISH, what's going on at your house today? How is your tummy doing? How is the baby quilt coming? Or are you crocheting an afghan instead?

The pizza last night was really great! My new favorite way to make it. Kind of rustic and more flavorful than using a conventional oven. I covered my pizza pan with foil and put it right into the barbie. Yum! I just couldn't envision putting raw dough right onto the grill. Best part is we have enough left for tonite so no cooking here tonite.

Is there any cooking at your house?

Good morning!

Mary - I knew the trivia of the movie Up because of a friend of ours in California was and is a animator for Pixar. He did work on Up and the Cars movies. Love the rockery! I have gathered smaler rovks to line the outside edges of my window wells. They are in a pile on the side of the house. People pay big bucks for large boulders here. One of the cash crops of Herriman!

Becca - I never got into painting rocks, but anything else that didn't move I did! LOL!

Michael is out gathering a newspaper and gas for the tractor. He should be back any minute. It is getting hot.

All is well here. The baby kitties are hilarious! Climbing all over each other, never wanting to be the bottom of the pile. And always wanting to be in momma cat's face! She just shoves them back. Won't be long before they are climbing out of their box.

Dinner tonight will be either fajatas or a steak with corn on the cob.

Enjoy,
Jana

Mom and I went on a shop hop bus ride, today. We got to our first shop at seven, and got back there to come home at 9:30. We went to 8 shops in North-western PA and western NY. We had a great time, and stayed fairly close to our budgets. We budgetted $15 per shop. Had to spend at least ten to get a stamp on our passports. Although we had fun, we both agreed that the day lasted too long. We could have been done after the sixth shop.

I got everything I need for my snowmen for the swap. I couldn't decide, so I have three options for the WOW. One is paisley, one is snowflakes, and one is swirls. You can't have too many WOW's. I also got the stuff to make a project out of the stars I won from block lotto.

After dropping Mom off, I got home around 10:30, and grabbed a cucumber and rye bread sandwich for supper.

Mary, we have that water, but I didn't see coconut. I will keep an eye out.

Becca, the girls were very happy, when I got home. They tried to coax me into a second supper, but I was wize to them.

Jana, I bet the kitties are cute. I love cats, but can never have them. I just won't do a litter box. Uggg.

Have a good night!
Pam
