Supper club -July 4!

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Jul 04, 2018 4:14 am

Good morning! Happy Fourth to us all!!

Here is a photo ( I hope) of project I am helping Annette with.

Image

The block is 11 x 13. There are 12 blocks and I think she plans to make a bed scarf with them for their arctic fox trailer. Foxes are all in bright colors. A fun project and she is a quick study.

We will work on it some more this afternoon after spending the morning at the beach. We will split up tomorrow morning and they will go home and we will drive up the Oregon and Washington coast and spend the night near Bill’s sisters house and visit with them. Home on Friday morning!

Tonight supper will be hotdogs roasted over the campfire. And watermelon and baked beans. I would make a potato salad but we just finished one that we ate on for three days.

I hope we all have a great Fourth of July. God bless America

Good morning :)
Cute fox Mary :) sounds like you've been having fun :)
I'm going to smoke a brisket, make coleslaw and corn on the cob for supper and then we'll drive out and get a blizzard and go to the fairgrounds for the fireworks show :)
We're over at Dad's right now, Frankie is helping him with his porch roof, soon he'll have shade!

I made this great post, but the thunderstorm knocked the internet out! I lost it. Oh well. That'll teach me to compose on the website instead of in Word.

Dan got on Facebook for the first time in quite a while. He is dissapointed in all the people who don't agree with him politically. He is into political science, but says there is no longer any room for debate, without people getting angry. I told him a couple friends of mine he could befriend who would listen to his studies, but I think he is just going to stay off FB. He likes to talk science, too, but that becomes too easily diverted to the same political arguments, these days. Poor honey.

It was thunderbooming here earlier, and we got a little rain. At least it was after the parade, not that we went. We were lazy at home this morning. This afternoon, I will do some strip piecing, color Mom's hair, and maybe cut out the 5" squares for a swap group I am in. This evening, I will go home to be with my honey and doggies, and forgo the fireworks. I think they will still have them, if it doesn't rain any more.

Tonight is chicken noodle soup for supper.
Have a great fourth!

Happy Fourth!

Mary - that fox is adorable!

Pam - many times here in the summer we get some good storms. Most of the time I can leave things plugged in on ourvsurge protectors, but the are times the lightning is too close and Michael is off and running shutting it all down. Sorry about the post!

Tina - I have a brisket in the freezer and will do it in the oven, long and slow. Shade in this heat is a good thing!

Becca - Happy Birthday to CA! Hope he has a great one! He deserves it!

Dinner here is a grilled ribeye and corn on the cob. I have a hankering for Red Lobster's cheddar bay biscuits. I have the copycat recipe, so will whip out a small batch. Then will watch the fireworks here in the neighborhood.

Enjoy!

It is almost 11pm and there are still a few fireworks being shot off. We went out on my deck, that overlooks a great deal of the south end of the Salt Lake Valley. I am on the west bench and can easily see over to the mountains on the east side. About 20 miles away. We had a 180 degree view of all the fireworks being launched. A constant stream of fireworks in the sir. It started at about 9 om and just ended. No professional show goes that long! Beautiful aerials, right over me and out to the east. So far no fires near me. One more night and then a break until the 24th of July, Pioneer Day. Then we do it all over again.
