SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, June 23rd
Good morning!
Nice morning here. Still some puddles around from the big storm last Wednesday night. Turns out this was the biggest storm ever recorded in our immediate area and it was centered right over our RV park! No wonder several folks still need bridges made of boards, pallets, bricks, etc to get out of their trailers. Our site is on sightly higher ground so we were saturated, but no 'lakes'.
Yesterday was lots of time for sewing. I finished my table topper and four blocks of my Gypsy Wife. Then we had the social hour. Lots of appetizers of one sort or another with lots of "choice beverages". Bill made a short video and put it with music and special shots of various events and people, and everyone loved our category prizes.
Today, a few hours of sewing in the morning, though I won't drag my machine and all the other stuff that goes with (iron, pressing mat, cutting mat, and tools) to the sewing tent today. I'll just take a small tote with fabric to cut some more G.W. blocks, and maybe a bit of hand embroidery. Then the Main Event, the big BBQ the factory puts on for us. After that, is the prize giveaway we all look forward to. We might win a $10 prize or we might win a Traeger! Or anything in between. The factory is VERY generous
Tina, glad you are home. Sounds like you have been very busy since you got back. Sit back and take it easy, girl!! Save something for tomorrow! The kids will have fun at S.D. Zoo. We took our kids in 1984. They got to ride a camel there.
Pam, dinner is always fun and interesting at your house!
Becca, you sound as busy at Tina! I feel like such a slacker sitting here in my jammies and robe. I've done nothing but drink a cup of coffee!
Chickie, glad you got a day off from the rental! Good news on Doyal. And how does a laser help you make HST's?
Jana, I would like old fashioned screen doors, nothing fancy or modern. they just close as you let them go. Great for fly-keeping-out!
Irish, what's the word, girlfriend??
Today is no cooking since we're having the BBQ, though I will be putting more ham into the crockpot tonite for the farewell potluck breakfast tomorrow morning. Since it's going to be breakfast ham this time, I was thinking of adding maple syrup while it cooks. Never done it before but how bad can it be??
This might be my last post for a bit. Busy morning tomorrow - and early. We'll be on the road by 9:30, meet other friends in Baker City, and off to camp in an area where we've been told there is no internet or cell service. Just simply down time - for two nights before heading for Sisters, OR where we'll be for 2 more nights. We will just miss the big quilt show there. We tried to get in for that but the whole town is booked up that weekend. But the quilt shop is still there! ;o)

Good afternoon!
We are having a family party tonight here. No particular reason. The city is celebrating it's cityhood with fireworks tonight. So before we will have a BBQ and hang our projector screen off the deck and watch a movie. Everyone will be on the lawn in the backyard. I think we will watch Tangled - the Disney remake of Rapuntzel. Crenda is making caramel popcorn for our afters. Matt bought a outdoor projector and is bringing that over. We have had the screen, before I was even married to Michael. He has tons of slides of, what else, railroads - engines, cars, and some scenic shots. It is usually in the Batt Cave for train nights.
I am finishing some uglies and sewing in the Batt Cave.
Enjoy!
Jana

Good afternoon from warm but now dreary, SW. Pa...We've had drizzle, then sunshine and now, it's overcast....
Mary, sounds like you're really have a super good time...Love to hear about your adventures....And I agree, what harm could a little syrup do, go for it!
Becca, as Mary said, you sure are busy...BUT, that's what is keeping you young....I can imagine how proud everyone is, 35 years is fantastic, quite an inspiration....
Spoke too soon, the sun is now shining brightly but probably won't last too long, lol....
The days are flying by and I'm not sure I'm accomplishing very much...Yesterday, I did meet with the organist about the up coming wedding and I think we have things under control...10 bridesmaids, 2 flower girls, ages 2 and 4 and a ring bearer age 4, and what is bad, the mothers of the kids are all in the wedding so the kids will probably want Mommy! Oh well, I just tell them how it's supposed to go, not promising anything on this one.....
Last night I went to the Pirate's baseball game...I am not a follower since they traded my favorite player but Terry's wife was given tickets and what tickets! We almost sat on the field, lol...But, we did leave in the 10th because it was starting to sprinkle and score was tied...But, when I got home and turned on the news, was so glad we had left early...As some of you probably have seen on the news, we did have a shooting in Pittsburgh and now we are having protests and those protests are turning violent...It's very, very tragic when anyone is shot but I firmly believe, protests are not going to help..I think let those in charge do their job....OK, get off that soap box, right!
I just had a text from Nick asking if I'd like him to make me dinner....What a silly question! He wants to make Alfredo and Terry's wife doesn't care for cheese so he'll come down here...Who could ask for anything more.....Might have to bake something for afters....
Other than that, not much is happening...Got the uglies done and now I might just get my book and sit on the front porch (after I bake something).....
You all have a great day..........
Happy eating..................
