SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, March 29th

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Mar 29, 2018 3:39 am

Good morning!

Still camping here, near Moses Lake, WA, halfway between Seattle and Spokane. But yesterday we heard that the park we really wanted to go to in Yakima, 100 miles SE of here, is now open! Yay! So we decided to move there this morning. We'll be there for 3 nights before we have to go home. The good news is that it's in the heart of wine country! So we'll be doing some more tasting. We are members of two wine clubs there so we can taste for free, and buy at discounts, should we opt to purchase anything. haha! Who am I trying to kid? I'm sure we will find something we like well enough to make good use of those discounts.

Yesterday I got out my sewing and made blocks for the April Lotto - star blocks in Red, white, and blue fabrics. I brought along my FGV book and a tote of 30's fabrics, but I don't know if I'll get it all out again. In the trailer, it's more work to get out the machine, fabrics, tools, pressing mat, iron, etc and later to put it all away again than it's worth for just a day or a few hours.

JANA - I'm so happy that Michael's shoulder is improving, especially without surgery! I fear many doctors are quick to jump right to the OR. Do you use the Young Living products? I like some of them. Especially the lavender essential oil and the Thieves hand soap. Just can't afford them!

CHICKIE - I'm so sad about the little cows that aren't making it. I wonder why the mortality rate is so high this year. I didn't realize Doyal had decided to go ahead with his surgery. When is it scheduled? Wishing him the best of everything with it. Cooking will certainly be different for you from then on. You know I'm offering prayers for your DD. I hope they figure her out soon and that it's nothing too serious.

TINA - sounds like things are busy at your house, but the eatin' is good! Are you getting any sewing done?

BECCA - Maybe, if your son remodels his house and gets new furniture, it will not only look different but it will be HIS, with all the work and decision making he is putting into it. Maybe he will be happy in it once again. Saying a prayer for him as he moves forward with his life.

LINDA - wow! Lots happening with you, girlfriend! Congratulations on your class! I bet you are looking forward to the next one. In fact, sounds like lots of things to look forward to in your near future! enjoy all your travels. I've forgotten just where you will be going in WA. And the Oregon Coast is a drive no one should miss. Breathtaking views.

BECKY - I'm sorry so many in your family have dietary problems. Makes it difficult for the cook. I thought of you yesterday. I made a comfort call to a friend in Olympia. They had just lost their 14 yr old sheltie. Because their dog was so sick for so long, they had curtailed their social life, so I invited them to supper after we get home. And she proceeded to tell me all the things that she's not eating now. Arghhh!! Almost everything we serve for our company meals! Guess I'll have to get creative.

IRISH - thinking of you! How are your eagle families doing? Have you set a date to go visit your FL friend yet? The warmth does sound enticing, doesn't it. Is your family making plans for Easter?

We had a campfire yesterday in the late afternoon, but the wind kicked up so we didn't grill the burgers we'd planned. We had leftover chicken noodle casserole instead. So hopefully tonite will be burgers! It will be 5* warmer and not so windy in Yakima. Here we're parked on a big lake with no hills around. Very windy. We might have fried potato and onions on the side, or pork'n'beans. I'm already getting hungry!

What sounds tempting to you tonite?

Good morning!

Mary - more fun - glad your favorite park has opened and you can move over there. You will come up with a scrumptious menu for your dinner party!

Not much here - class tonight, so will stop and get something after that.

It is opening day of baseball season. m taping the game to watch when we get home.

Will finish up my webinar blocks this morning. Ethan will be here in a little while. Then will start Lila's quilt - it will be 38 weeks tomorrow and so I better get busy.

Enjoy!

Good afternoon from a very dreary but warm SW. Pa...(I have a feeling, Jim must be really busy not to be sending sun but I'm sure he'll get working on it)....

Mary, your trip is sounding better and better, especially with those wine tasting side trips...You and Kathy would get along so well! They have something planned for later this month and it has something to do with wine, what else.....She's also going to Vegas to teach and then meet up with Cari who will be in Utah on business and then fly down to Vegas..I can't keep up with this family...

Becca, your weather is much better than what we're getting but I'm not going to complain...All this rain is making everything so green and I'm sure, in the end, it will be good for the farmers....The "swatch" in the kitchen brought back good memories...Our kids all grew up in the "big" house and we too had a swatch...I did feel so sad when the new people decided to paint...Every family should have those kind of memories....Enjoy your pizza....

Jana, I wonder if little Lila knows how much everyone prayed for her to stay put and how, now we're anxious to meet this little lady.....You better get working on that quilt! But, if you're like me, you work better under pressure...

Chickie, it is strange about the newbies that haven't made it...But, thank goodness there are a bunch that have...Nothing sweeter than a new calf or any new born, right? I must have missed it but didn't know your DH was having surgery...Will be sending good thoughts and prayers his way..And will also include you in those prayers, wives seem to need them more, lol.....

My week seems to be getting away from me and I'm not accomplishing too much....It seems, every day, I need to run, not only run to take care of Dan's fur babies but other errands....Had a doctor's appointment this morning along with blood work, which meant, fasting and pulling into DuncanDonuts for coffee and a goodie...Then I finally stopped at our local bank and applied for a new credit card, which will be here next week (thank goodness)....I also have the car packed with stuff for GoodWill but came home...Next trip out, I'll take care of the cats and then maybe drop off this stuff...
Cari and her DH will be here tomorrow and her sister, Jackie and her SO will be coming on Sat. Their brother Dan is in Costa Rico and won't be home until Tuesday so he'll miss out on the waffles on Sunday...But, it will be nice to sit and visit with these guys...Then we'll probably go visit Kevin and then maybe my sister...

Not sure what I'll have for dinner, usually don't think about it until about 9:00 and then it's usually a bowl of cereal...

You all have great day........

Happy eating..........

Eagle Update:
So far the 2nd egg hasn't started to hatch and it could be the egg isn't viable..But, we haven't given up yet and the parents will sit on the egg as long as it's there...They would even sit on a wooden egg if it was in the nest, this is just eagle instinct....But, the 1st fuzz ball is taking advantage of being fed by both parents and pretty soon will look like a bowling ball with feathers....But, so darn cute....
