Mar 29 devotion

"And the LORD said unto Joshua, Get thee up; wherefore liest thou thus upon thy face?" Joshua 7:10

Roadblocks to prayer
Joshua 7:1-13

At least Joshua had come to the right place. In despair over the nation's recent defeat by the little city of Ai, Joshua and the nation's elders performed the proper rituals of repentance and remained there until evening. Gut the Lord was not impressed with their weeping and wailing. "Stand Up!" God commanded. The problem was sin, and one the sinner was found out and the sin removed from the camp, the problem would be solved.

When you pray, you have come to the right place. But that is just the beginning. As part of your conversation with God, you will "hear" His words speaking to your heart. He will reveal sins to confess, actions to take, changes to make. As you read His word Hell make you aware of what He wants you to do. While its good to keep reading keep praying and keep seeking we still have to take action, especially where sin is concerned.

Hugs and prayers

There are steps in repentance. It is a act on our part. Not just saying the words alone, but physical actions that we do. Repentance is a constant daily way of life - we are human and make mistakes. Our physical actions witnesses to God our acceptance of His grace. By taking advantage of this wonderful gift of the atonement Christ gave in the Garden of Gethsemane, we can gain forgiveness of our wrong doings and learn to be more like Christ, learning His traits and actions, by doing.
