SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, March 22nd

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Mar 22, 2018 3:45 am

Good morning!

Looks like we're going to do this again - Becca's birthday! Don't know why I was so certain yesterday was March 22nd, but for me, it was all day long. I can't believe I was in that much of a hurry for my own birthday! lol! So, BECCA, happy birthday today! Again!!

Yesterday I posted the photo first, then went back and 'edited' to add text. I was sleepy. :o) So that's why you all saw only the picture. that's all there was for about 15 minutes.

JANA - Hope Ethan gets through his pink eye OK. I think every little kid has had it at least once. I didn't know about Sarah's first husband. How scary that whole event must have been for them.

CHICKIE - Now I'm crying! Poor babies and poor mamas. I feel so bad for the mamas, bawling for their babies. You are very artistic. I bet if you took a few art classes, you would be turning out some really nice paintings.

BECKY - Oh, I hope they find out what's wrong with your little one and it's an easy fix.

Word from my niece & nephew (Jeff & Carmen) is that Albert is improving - again - and if he doesn't 'backslide' again, he will probably go home Friday or Saturday. His surgery was 2 weeks ago today. We're going up to visit this morning. Al & June plan to leave on Saturday and we made rezzies to go camping in Eastern WA for a week, starting next Monday. Albert's family has got this now.

Bill and Al mowed our lawn yesterday. This set Vicki off and she did some yelling, screaming, and gesturing. And then started dragging things out to make a wall again on the property line. She told my sister that we turned on her and are trying to take her property and that our shop and woodshed are on her land. And so it begins again. We wonder what we'll find when we come back from camping.

June is making supper tonite - mac and cheese! One of my very favorite dishes. REAL mac and cheese. I'm looking forward to it. I haven't had it for a long time.

I hope your supper is as good as mine is going to be!

Good morning!

Tonight is our class, so dinner will be out.

Mary - no pink eye! Ethan is experiencing allergies. Just some allergy drops for his eye and he is doing fine.

Spring is coming - so I hope! Our lawn company came and plugged the lawn and put on the pre-emergence to keep the dandilions under control. Those pesky dandilions are Herriman's most productive crop! LOL! We wanted to do this before the rain, good timing - it is raining!

I have the uglies going - laundry, kitchen, vacuuming, etc. Then I head to the Batt Cave.

Happy Birthday Becca!

Enjoy!
Jana

Good late morning, early afternoon from sunny but snow covered SW. Pa...Oh my, we are snow covered and then some...It is supposed to get close to 40 today so with the sun, hopefully, some of this white stuff will leave....

Mary, you really had me confused with the date, yesterday...AND you know, it doesn't take too much to get me loopy....So glad to hear Albert is back on track and it sounds like you and Bill are on track also....Will be good for you 2 to get away, you sure deserve it....Just keep positive thoughts about Vicki while you're away...
I too cried when reading about the new born calf, one of the reasons I couldn't live on the farm....

Becca, Happy Birthday, dear Friend! Hope your day is super special....And hopefully, you have better weather than we do, lol...You're celebrating this weekend, right? Will there be cake and ice cream?

I had great news, bright and early this morning....Nick will be here for the summer doing an internship with Terry's company...It's going to be extra good for him because he'll be getting paid and super good for this old Gram, just to have him near....

The sun shining in the windows is sure helping to get me motivated...I've started cleaning closets, getting rid of my seldom worn stuff as well as some of Jim's...

Also, been weeding out the quilting magazines/patterns...I would love for someone to have these so if there's anyone interested, just let me know and they're your's...I also have years of back issues of McCall's quilting that I will probably never, ever use, so just let me know.....
I just think it's time for me to maybe start downsizing and I'd hate to have someone come in and just pitch these things in the trash.....

My dinner tonight might be a meatloaf sandwich and since Mary mentioned real mac and cheese, that just might happen here as well....Of course when I make something, that means, I'll be reheating it for a few days, lol....Jim always teased me about cooking for an army but when you have 5 kids, you do cook, lots...And then when it was just the 2 of us, I still always had left overs and NOW, this is tough! But, there's always that bag of chips or popcorn on non cooking days, lol......

You all have a great day....Spring is here!

Happy eating..............

Eagle Update:
Both our eagle nests were completely covered with a few inches of snow and both female eagles snuggled deep in the nest bowl and kept those special eggs warm...We are expecting a PIP at any time in the nest closest to me...If the eaglet was smart, it would wait until warmer weather and the snow was gone, but you know kids!

Hello everyone from sunny Carolina.Beautiful day but still cold.

Thank you for my Double Birthday wishes. Its been a busy productive day for me.Had a long long list & most of it is crossed off.Still Den to dust & do floors.Got Bathrooms done.stripped 3 beds ,washed & dressed the beds.Got upstairs done ready for Denise. And made a big meatloaf. And Cleaned the microwave & stove.A real relaxing day.lol

Maryz So glad Al is doing so well. But bad about Vicky on the warpath again.Too bad she can’t be placed in a facility that would care for her.Glad you get a camping break.

Jana Glad it’s not pink eye.And your lawn should be beautiful.

Irish I think you are oh so wise to be weeding out.Better than it being tossed.I try to keep at it all the time bec of Denise. She would be the one to do it all here unless the DGRands help.

Becky I missed out on what is wrong with little one.Hope it’s not serious.

Denise will come Friday & leave Sunday. The Rest will only be here Saturday. And did I say it’s supposed to rain.Oh well it’s what it is.
We will have meatloaf ,salad & potatoe Baked. Becca

Good afternoon! It is, indeed, the 22nd by all of my calendars, clocks, electronic devices. Happy Birthday Becca!!!

Ah! So I wasn’t crazy! I did see only your photo with the decadent cake. That’s when I posted that it said it all.

We had another live birth yesterday. So far 4 live ones—3 gray, one black. I’m loving the cuteness of them all!

Yesterday instead of comfort quilt making, I made a walker caddy for my sister. She will be having hip replacement next week and staying with my other sister. At the same time my sister called, she said Mom had fallen in her bathroom. She wasn’t sure how it happened, but Mom kind of scratched her face when her glasses hit her. She was taking Mom’s glasses for an adjustment of the nosepieces. Mom’s fine—just shook up of course. I really wish she would do assisted living in a facility or care center, but she is adamant that she stay in her home. (This woman put her aunt and her sister in care facilities, and friends have lived there—not her!!!)

Uh, oh! Sorry about the Vicki saga’s new chapter. It had been too quiet for a few weeks…

I do love mac and cheese! You are a lucky woman!!! I’m not sure DH really likes it very much. I have a steak thawing for him. I have soup. We have asparagus, baked potato, salads and cake. It will do.

Time to hit the sewing room… Odie is at the door trying to get in, but the Hooligans are all locked out until they dry off and get rid of some of their dirt. They are all black and not black and white. I don’t know where they were, but they are total mudballs. Odie is NOT happy, but neither am I when I look at any of them. LOL! I’ve done my yoga practice, walked down to see Ava and walk her, and now it’s sewing time…

Bon appétit!
