SUPPER CLUB - Wed, March 14th
Good morning!
I woke up early this morning and laid there for half-hour before crawling out. Why is it, if I'm laying in bed awake, everything starts hurting before long, but if I'm sleeping, I don't usually wake up achy.
Yesterday was lightly filled with walking, cutting bargello strips and hexie squares, chiropractor, and then June and I went for spur of the moment pedicures. That was fun! we got home just in time for happy hour. Then I made supper and we all settled in for an evening of TV. Well, my sis settled in for a 2-hour nap in front of the TV but the rest of us enjoyed our shows. lol!
Today June is going to a mini-high school reunion. She graduated in 1961 and hasn't seen most of the class since then. My SIL, Terry, was also in their class so she is going, too. But my DBIL is going to Seattle with us to visit Albert. Al is making slow progress, has had a few small minor roadblocks, but given the scope of his surgery, I'd say he is doing very well.
CHICKIE - Yes, we are VERY impressed with the care Al is getting at Virginia Mason Hospital. I told them so, too, and I'll be writing a letter after he's discharged. Our 70* weather is but a memory now. We're back to 50* and soggy. but it was so nice to feel that sunshine on my face!
JANA - glad you are happy with your new arrangement in the Batt Cave. I keep trying to rearrange my little sewing room, but I always end up going back to the same thing. It's only 10x10 so there's not a lot of room. How is Kate? We're coming up on 35 weeks soon.
BECKY - if you have a warped sense of humor, you'd sure fit right in here!! It's a requirement in my family!
TINA - thanks for posting photos of Irish's quilt. If anyone wants to see other comfort quilts that have been given out more photos are posted in the PFTH thread.
BECCA - your little ones sounds so sweet! How far away is the wedding? I hope you find the purrfect dress! I still have the fabric I bought to make my MOB dress for Autumn's wedding. Then she changed her plans, suddenly had a very small ceremony at her house with only a couple days notice. She's been married for 15 years now and I STILL have the pattern and material in my sewing room.
TINA B - hi! Thanks for stopping by! you're welcome anytime!
Supper tonite is going to be tacos. I have to stop at the store for sour cream, tomatoes, and an avocado, but otherwise I think I have all I need. It has been really challenging to come up with menu ideas night after night. Usually Bill and I eat leftovers several nights a week, but with four people, especially with DBIL's big appetite, there is seldom anything left. So I'm cooking something new every night. I still have a pot roast and pork chops in the freezer and after that, I think it's going to be poached eggs! At least I'm getting my freezer cleaned out!
How's suppertime shaping up at your house?

Good afternoon ladies,
Kids did really well in their respective bands last night. I enjoy those shows, they are much, much improved from when they started! Ha.
Glad to hear I would fit right in your bunch Mary. Not so much in JR's family, but who really cares? He loves me, most of the time, anyway!
Becca, I think it is a case of the kids killing me, doesn't appear to be keeping me young! Last night, they all decided to come home with their mom, which is strange, usually we end up with one or two of them, so, JR said, now is our chance to go out and get wild and crazy. So I asked him if he wanted to do that on a night we had to go to work the next day, and he decided no, probably not....This morning he told me that we aren't even able to do High school band night without it hurting the next day! So, no, not staying young.....
Tonight, I have some chicken breasts in the crockpot, with BBque sauce. Will fix some veggies and a salad, although, may have to make some sort of pasta dish to round things out for JR. Nope, he can eat cottage cheese with his! Should be fall apart soft for him.
The quilt for Irish is beautiful ladies. You did a great job, and I am sure that she will feel a hug every time that she looks at it. You all are very special.
Have a good evening....Becky

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Wed, March 14th
Good early evening!
Cloudy, raining, snowing and thunder and lightning - couldn't make up it's mind! Anyway, it is cold! The heater is on and so is the fireplace.
Found a stash of fabric I have had for many years to use with this year's webinar with El. Creams on the gold/yellow tones and burgandy reds. I will use a touch of green too. Just need to press what I have and get a piece or two to go along. Totally forgot about this set of fabrics, until I was looking for something else.
Love the quilt that you wonderful elves did for our Irish. It will be loved!
Kate is still doing well. I made two covers for the bassinette mattress last night. Little Lila will stay in that for a time, before moving in and sharing a room with Gracie.
Dinner is leftovers.
Mary - even having Ethan for the last few days, I was cooking more than usual. But he is good at eating leftovers, as long as it is a pasta of some sort.
Becca - a wedding? I must have misseed that.
Off - the thunder and lightning is getting a little too close!
Enjoy!
