SUPPER CLUB - Sat, Dec 2nd

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Dec 02, 2017 3:43 am

Good morning!

I got most of my list accomplished yesterday, Found a really nice set of drill bits, complete with nylon/canvas carry bag for Bill for Christmas. I got the last one! So happy I went to ACE before my chiropractor appointment or I might have missed out. I also got binding on two quilt, washed them, and now we have 8 quilts in gift bags. Bill decided he's going to do one more for our donation project, so he's loading that this morning. So I guess if I have time today I'll be making yet another binding. After this, he only has 4 more tops to do - and they've all been sitting there for a bit over a year - draped over a quilt rack - waiting . . . And they are for us.

This morning I have to make a diabetic friendly dessert to take to a noon luncheon with my former NICU co-workers. and this evening we're going to dinner at friends' in Olympia, an hour south of us. So it's going to be a full day for us. Tomorrow we're meeting our two grandsons for breakfast in Silverdale - an hour north of us and then going to the younger one's new apartment. That will take up the entire morning, but can't wait too see the boys. Though at 20 and 24 they are hardly boys any longer.

BECCA - prayers for "our" twins. RSV is a common virus, very contagious, and almost everyone has had it in childhood, thinking it is just a cold. But it's harder on babies, the elderly, and people who have chronic illnesses. I'm sure mom and dad are keeping a sharp eye on them.

CHICKIE - you know, by hap-hazard watering and feeding of your Christmas cactuses, you might just be doing what they need. I believe they like to get good and dry before a good long drink. We have no south windows in our house (that's the garage side) and only one east window in the kitchen where I can put plants. Would love to have a sunroom like yours or Linda's.

IRISH - So sorry Jim's world is shrinking. It must be heartbreaking for you. But at least you know he's in very good hands and getting the best care possible. Even if his stuff tends to walk off. And lucky you to have a sister who is an awesome and generous cook! I'm sure she loves having you share her wonderful food. I want to be her sister, too!

JANA - I'm an official cat person, too. I even have the Crazy Cat Lady Action Figure that comes complete with 9 cats. But I love dogs, too. I need both in my life. And if Bill wants to keep me as his wife, he does, too! lol!

We'll be in Oly tonite for supper so no cooking for me! We'll just take a bottle of wine, a poinsettia, and Scottie Dog.

Got supper plans yet?

We will probably have take out pizza. Kids are marching in the holiday parade at 2, so that will take a big chunk out of the day, but so fun. It will be Brytt's last parade of her high school career, so she is bumming.
I usually check in to see what you all are having, but with the baby brats living here, so much they won't eat, so am looking forward to cooking when they move out. At this rate, may just be never though!
Hope you all have a great day...Becky

Good afternoon from a semi sunny, pleasant, SW. Pa...Going to be a good weekend, weather wise, so they say.....

Mary, off and running, sounds like in all directions....But, always good to visit with the "boys" no matter how old they are....So what's going to be the next project after Bill and you get all those quilts finished? Not like you not to have something in the works....AND for sure, you can be a sister...Oh my, you would fit right in...Besides being a terrific cook, she's also built low to the ground and she has a cat, lol.....

Becky, you brought back so many good memories of the parades the kids and then grand kids marched in...And it was very sad when that last year came around....I had always said and also heard, kids that were in the band and music orientated were much better students and seemed to do well after school and I do firmly believe it! Enjoy your day and of course, you can never go wrong with pizza.....

Becca, I know you're out there some where, probably got your walk in already...Hope your day is good...And also hope and pray, as Mary put it, "our" twins are doing well.....

Not much happening in this neighborhood, everyone is either still in bed or out somewhere enjoying the nice weather....About all I'm going to do is finish running the vacuum, fold Jim's clothes and then go visit with him....I go every day but there are times when I miss a day and it bothers me...But, I don't think he realizes when I do miss...He still gets quite a few hugs from "his girls"...On my way, I do have to stop and pick up some candy or cookies or maybe I'll just whip up a batch of cookies...My cupboard is bare (must have been the cats)....Terry told me, he'll be here tomorrow to help with my "to do list" so I really should have some goodies in the house......

And once again, I have no idea what might be on my plate for dinner...I had a hard time coming up with a cup of tea and crackers for lunch, lol...The other night, Jim was having sauerkraut and hotdogs and the aroma coming from the kitchen smelled so darn good, I stopped and bought some sauerkraut..Just might have to put that in the crock pot for tomorrow, I'm sure Terry would like it also.....

You all have a great day, do something fun......

Happy eating.................

Good afternoon!

Tonight will be snicky snacks as it is the gender reveal party for Kate and Aaron's new little one. Sarah is frosting pink and blue snowflakes as part of the goodies. We are both hoping for a little boy, but are pretty sure that this one is a girl. I already have some darling little girl flannel for receiving blankets that I make. Baby is due in the middle of April, that is if Kate doesn't go early again, like with Gracie.

Finished up Gracie's gift and will do Emma's next. The boys will go quick.

Well, back to the uglies, the decorating crew will be here in a little while,

Enjoy,
Jana

Hi all :)
I made green Chile chicken enchilada casserole :) we have enough leftovers for tomorrow night and for mom and dad :) I did their laundry up again today, sewed, took the furrkids to the groomer and went grocery shopping. ... it's been a little busy today. I'm trying to take it easy because I hurt my knee last night. Kevin made Zuppa Tucana for supper last night, it was yummy! He got a promotion and a 2% pay increase! He's very happy. Oh and good news, there's a moving date! The week of December 17th! We're going over tomorrow to empty the freezer and I think shut off the power and gas and water. I'm hoping this will be the last trip there.
I hope you all are doing good. And babies are getting better.
Tina
