SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Dec 6th
Good morning,
We are starting a week of cold temps (low 30's at night to 50* during the day) and DRY! We even have sunshine! I had to wear my sunglasses yesterday! But I do see that not everyone is as lucky as we are in the weather department.
Yesterday we had a busy day delivering gifts and quilts to childrens hospital and nursing home. Then we had to pick up a few things, and finally we had to pick up our pick-up from Dodge! That meant 2 trips to Tacoma with 2 vehicles ($5 toll each trip, each vehicle). We were so glad to sit down last night for the final time! Whew! In between all the running around, Bill got Drew's Christmas quilt finished and I got a good start on Alec's tree skirt. Hope to get both ready to give by end of business today. Which means we'll go out delivering again tomorrow.
IRiSH - I guess I'm a purist. I like nothing but nuts (double helping, please) in my cookies and cinnamon rolls. But B likes raisins (though now we use craisins instead) so that's usually how I make them. that way I eat less! I hope Jim's URI isn't serious. Didn't he have one not so long ago? I grew up on a farm, too. Everything was a pet, until it was dinner. We had chickens that chased and attacked. We kept a baseball bat near the door to beat off the chickens when we went outside. Mom knocked "Ceasar" cold once and felt bad, knelt to revive him, and then rethought that. We had chicken & dumplings for dinner that night!
CHICKIE - Liver is by far, worse than fish. Even shellfish, which, for me, holds a particularly high ick-factor. This seems strange to me that you like it so well, when you're not much of a meat eater. You are really working hard on that comfort quilt for Nate. It's going to be beautiful! I wish I could help, but it's hard to quilt there when I am here.
BECCA - I would love to see that christmas play with your little Adalynn! well, maybe I could! It's only about 1.5 hours from me!
TINA - thanks for the validation on my Christmas decor! I enjoy it all! haha! I'm not short! I'm merely vertically challenged.
LINDA - I send lots of cards! I love 'em! Though for some reason two of our cards keep coming back to me. Not sure why. I even took them back to the P.O., they couldn't figure why the destination P.O. returned them, and they re-sent them for me, marking out all postmarks. And they STILL came back! the same two! With no reason indicated. Yet one person in the middle of the country got hers with no stamp at all! Not sure how it got through my double-check system, but I guess it did.
We are still working our way through a big dish of chix parm. I didn't mean to make so much but the package held 3 chicken breasts instead of the usual two. Since I cut them in half, that makes 6 servings - or 3 dinners for us. Hope tonite is the last of it.

Good morning
Mary, that's so strange about those 2 cards. I had 3 chicken breasts last week. ..I usually desperate them and freeze individually but for some reason I didn't with these so I baked 1 with rice for supper that night and boiled the other 2 that night and made a huge bowl of chicken salad out of one for the next day and then shredded the 3rd one and put it in a container with the broth from them boiling so it wouldn't dry out and then I made green Chile chicken enchilada casserole. ... we had chicken most of the week but it was in different forms
I managed cutting 3 quilts out, had to run into town twice to the LQS for that perfect color and yesterday I finished 1 top, I started the 2nd one this morning but the boys are here so instead of 1 day this will take a few during nap times. I have the queen size quilt cut out and I keep looking at the cutout pieces and it just doesn't seem like enough. .. funny....I sure hope it is. I forgot to wash the FQ's that I have for Matthew's quilt, so I'll do that today hopefully.
We look like we could be getting snow but so far nothing. ...I swear when I was out yesterday I saw a couple flakes. ..... snowflakes that is. . Frankie's boss said the same thing. Tomorrow is Frankie's retirement party and I get to go and the boys too
and then Friday night is the City- County big Christmas party that's catered and dancing and door prizes. Tonight were having leftover lasagna.
Tina

Good morning! We were 23 when I fed the calves this morning. I am really not a cold person, although I like wearing sweaters and my flannel lined jeans. Some days nothing keeps me warm. Tomorrow, our high will only be 37, and I have all three dogs to walk… Choc and Maggie several times. I prefer to stay inside and sew!
Mary—that’s a lot of tolls and trips! WHEW!!! I think one trip to town is a lot of running for me. Sometimes we might have to go twice. I think the liver thing was from when I was extremely anemic. From the time I was 13 to my surgery, my hemoglobin level was barely above 7, and it was below 6 at the time of my surgery. I think I craved iron. I wish you were here to quilt with me! I knew you had a lot going on there and didn’t want to bother you with it. I had an epiphany last night on what foot to use with my ruler and not have to do free motion, so I’ll be on a tear today! I admit to picking out stitches yesterday on two blocks.
Ha, ha! DH tells about Zipper the rooster. It used to chase the kids, but when it went after Anna Mae… chicken and noodles for dinner!
Irish—I put raisins and pecans in MY cinnamon rolls, too. Most of the family like them boring (plain), but I like mine gussied up.
Becca--there's just nothing like kids in Christmas programs!
Linda—I still send some cards… mainly to friends I only hear from once a year, but we love to keep in touch. I haven’t had time to write anything yet and get them going.
I would eat your chicken parm if I was there and take care of your leftovers. Tonight… well… last night DH thought grilled ham and cheese sounded really good, so that was it. We had burgers at the corner for lunch with our hunter (yep, he’s baaaaack—so far, all deer are safe and accounted for!), and I didn’t want a lot for dinner. I’m not sure what tonight will be, but maybe it will be los camarones with rice, broccoli and salad… works for me!
Bon appétit!

Good morning!
Sorry to have missed y'all yesterday. Was out busy running around the valley with my cohort in crime, Sarah. All came out well.
Oh, here nothing has raisins in them! They are banned in this family. Sarah's DH loves our fudge, but he hates nuts, so Sarah leaves them out. Not me - pecans is the nut of choice at my house.
Dinner with the new recipe was fairly good. Made for a quick dinner.
Dinner tonight - humm, we will see what falls out of the freezer.
Enjoy,
Jana

Hi gals,
Boy, I have good intentions, then I get behind!
The request for dinner tonight was hamburgers & fries....I think I can do that. I know what they think, Grandma will forget the veggies, but I think a nice big salad will make at least me happy!
Have a great day....Cold here too. Becky
