SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Nov 27
Good morning!
No rain this morning, so it looks like I just might get my walk in! I will walk in drizzle, but not in steady rain. I like to think I'll melt!
Never got the tree up yesterday. but today is the day, or so says my hubby. It was so wet that we pulled it, water bucket and all, into the garage to dry out. So I put out a few other things instead and cleaned some messes before settling down in front of the Seahawk/49-er game. I also finished up a sewing project, and the last Christmas cards. We love cards, both sending and receiving. It's a big deal at our house, choosing our cards. And we're sending them out early this year because we had a mailing address change. We still get mail at the house, but are gradually changing it all over to a Private Mail Box at the UPS store. I warned our neighbor across the road several times about mail theft (the reason we switched) but she still kept mailing her husband's company checks from her mailbox. The very day of my last warning, 4 checks were stolen, altered, and presented at different banks for a total of $20,000. All covered by banks' fraud insurance but what a mess! Now they have a PMB at UPS, too!
So today will be tree and rest of decorating. I have nothing else on my agenda.
BECCA - what a nice day you had with your DGS and his GF. And you really pulled together a feast on short notice! I love making doll clothes! But Autumn was done with baby dolls by age 6 and Barbies by age 10 and I have no grand daughters so I've made no more clothes since then.
JANA - I love your turkey/noodle tradition! And i love your method of making them. It's how my mom did it and how I do it, too. No fancy pasta machines here! Gosh, now I want noodles! You and Chickie have whetted my appetite for them.
TINA - watching that scene in Christmas Vacation was a little too much like some of our past tree quests! Frozen eyes and everything! lol! and we always did take a picnic and there was always a big bonfire that someone built and people kept going throughout the day. It really was fun. But the tree farm is fun, too, if more expensive.
LINDA - are you home yet? How was Hearst Castle??
IRISH - no cats running through your paint trays? Where's the fun in that?
CHICKIE - I know you've been busy as always with your crew, plus decorating.
I made a loaded homemade pizza last night. Maybe it was too loaded. We have 3/4 of it left! so that will be supper again tonite. And a salad. I'm craving greens.
What's the story in your kitchen tonite?

Good morning!
Mary - what a treasure to have the natvity that you made. I have one that I did of children that are dressed as the parts of the nativity. Only lost one of the pieces, the most important one, the baby Jesus in the manger. I have searched shops for a replacement, but never found one.
Dinner was yummy last night. After dinner I taught, Emma, Ethan, Andrew, Logan and Tanner how to play Agravation. We helped Emma count and they alk ganged up to get Grandma. As time was called, because they had to leave, Grandma was declared the winner, by a non playing Crenda. They want a rematch!
Sarah's family pictures came out so so. The photographer was not very good, but the big family group shot of all the parents, kids and grandkids did turn out well.
Dinner - the last of the turkey something cassarole. I will wing it! There is no soup left, that was gobbled up, down to the last drop. I have a hankering for just plain old yellow cake with chocolate frosting. So will make a batch of cupcakes and freeze them for later munching.
Enjoy!

Good morning! We are going for 70 here before it starts dropping later. I could do 70 year around! Mary, I don’t like to walk in any kind of rain—I swell up like a sponge! I keep trying to melt it off, but it just soaks up. You are so busy! I need to work on cards, but I’m making the comfort quilt first.
I did what little decorating I do. I was thinking of doing more, but when I checked storage I realized that my favorite things had been lost in the fire, so that really dulled my decorating fervor. I had a sad little pity party all by myself, shed a few tears and pressed on.
Jana—I make my noodles the same way here, too. I even measure my water by the half of an egg shell like Grandma and Mom. Get busy, Mary!
No more doll clothes here, either. I did some American Girl for DGD, but those are now put away. I have to say, AG was certainly more pleasant than Barbie outfits!!! I did tons of those for DD. She still has most of them, and DGD played with them as well.
It’s just been my usual running around here—town on Saturday, dogs yesterday and trying to cook and sew and take care of calves and my dogs in between. I need to sweep floors today. But I WILL be sewing!
Dinner tonight—I made some chicken fried steak last night, so DH will have steak sandwiches. I’ll have some noodles and dressing with cranberry sauce… and some greens.
Bon appétit!

Hi ladies. Left overs tonight.
I am glad too. We ended up having sewing at clubhouse. Carpet people didn't show up yet. I am working on a quilt handed down to me, a UFO from a friend's mother who passed and left these thing not finished. Hope to make this quilt for a special friend dealing with recent news of lung cancer.
