SUPPER CLUB - thursday, Oct 19th

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Oct 19, 2017 3:56 am

Good morning!

Today is the 15th wedding anniversary of my DD, Autumn, and her hubby Aaron. Happy Anniversary to them!

My SIL, Barb, received her quilt yesterday in the mail. It was fun for us to find her putting two different posts with photos on FB. I think she was very grateful. She's a quilter and knows the value of a quilt, but had never had a quilt just for her before!

This morning we're taking our pick-up into Tacoma for some warranty work. Bill received 2 different notices to bring the truck in but each time he did, they said they didn't have the parts! Finally Dodge called him for a survey to ask how satisifed he was with the work that "was done". So he told them what happened. They put him on hold for five minutes and came back to say he had an appointment and there WOULD be parts this time. sure hope so!

BECCA - holding good thoughts for Denise. how is your DH doing?

IRISH - glad your visit with Jim (and your leave-taking) went so well! I know you're happily busy right now visiting with your Kathy. Emjoy!!

TINA - thanks for explaining gorditas to me. They sound like Taco's in pita bread! lol! I don't understand how your mom, in the condition she is in, can 'make' anyone do anything that they know is wrong. I would be so fearful in this sue-happy age of losing everything I own if she causes an accident.

JANA - your JN is really a labor of love! Love of what, I'm not exactly certain yet. LOL!

CHICKIE - how is your knee??

LINDA - are you done painting yet?

Tonite we are having 2 couples for supper. It's going to be tricky cooking as two are diabetics and one is on a strict NO salt diet.
I'm planning on making lemon/artichoke/parmesan chicken, a recipe I found in Taste of Home. Baked sweet potatoes, brussels sprouts, and salad will also go on the table. Seasoning is challenging but it should all go OK . . My diabetic friend is bringing a dessert - pumpkin pie, I think.

I hope your supper is less tricky and more treaty!

Maryz: your dinner sounds so yummy!
I had my post all typed here and pressed a wrong button and lost it all.
Now to remember, oh yes,
Becca: prayers for Denise.
Hugs to all.
Dinner here tonight is to use up left over veggies from Crock Pot meal from Tues.
Last night we had pizza. So tonight I will get some pork chops to cook on the grill. And then use the veggies as side dish.
Hope you are all enjoying the fall weather. I am trying to clean off flower beds for my son for winter. He so happy that I am willing to do this. He said if you wait until spring, it's just such a mess.

Good morning! This is a quick in and out... My knee is MUCH better! Thank you for asking. I'm not quite back to normal--need to watch twisting motions, but I'm getting there.

Dinner tonight will be something with burger... maybe burgers. We had baked sweet potatoes last night. I also have some broccoli. Hummm... quiche might be good... It's still early, but I'll thaw burger. I can always go for veggies.

Sorry this is quick...

Bon appetit!

Good morning!

Today is brisket day. I will put it in the oven later. It has marinated for almost 48 hours.

I got bag #2 done. I am getting more confident in my hybrid method. I didn't have to rip out any of them ! Will do bag #3 today.

Stu will be home for a visit. It is Fall break for all students in the state.

Need to get going,

Enjoy,
Jana

Hello everyone:

Quick in and out. Am finally at the small touch up stage of painting the inside of the sun room. All that is left is for the contractor to come back and dye the concrete floor. Our furniture and rugs are arriving in pieces daily and collecting in our family and living rooms. It is making it difficult to walk around in the main house and my quilting is relegated to a tiny space among the wicker. But it all looks really, really nice!

DH has been doing projects daily, so he is busy. And he is happy when he is busy. So far he has painted the whole outside and trim of the sun room to match the house, replaced rotting boards and painted the big white arbor over the back gate, sanded, primed and painted a re-purposed corner plant stand for the sun room, sanded, stained and re-screened the wooden screen door for the French doors of our bedroom and weeded and trimmed the front yard for winter. As I said, he loves to stay busy.

I still have to finish my Asian Jasmine trimming for the winter as all things stop growing in November. It is too cold in the mornings to get out early now so I have to wait until the sun is good and up. The valley air is starting to clear out from all the smoke of the fires us north, and there may even be a bit of rain tomorrow. It remains to be seen.

Dinner tonite is Chicken Marsela with noodles and peas and corn, with pumpkin pie for dessert. DH is cooking!!

Have a great rest of the week...prayers to all those in need.
