Sept 28 Devotion

Psalm 79

Israel had been defeated and laid to waste, obviously, the consequences were pretty severe and the situation had been going on fairly long, maybe for generations. They realized their suffering and defeat were due to God's anger and punishment, but the situation continued until they finally realized that it wasn't about them. It was all about God's glory and His reputation among the nations. We too experience times of trouble and stress when we are overwhelmed with problems that seem to have no solution. We plead with God to intervene and deliver us because we want to be set free and relieved. Perhaps God's blessings are withheld until we realize it is not for the sake of our comfort and convenience but for "His Name's sake." He is the ONE who should receive the glory when He forgives our sins or brings relief from our trials.

Hugs prayers and God bless.
