Supper club, Saturday, September 23

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Sep 23, 2017 1:04 am

Good morning, everybody!

Today we start for home. We go north, my sister goes east. She has been sick most of this week here in Utah and slept for three days solid. I think today she will start to turn around a little bit

Dinner was good last night-barbecued beef baked potatoes. We didn't win any big prizes which was just as well. Didn't win any small prices either! LOL

Jana, what is with the snow business! It is chilly here! We had our dinner inside the big community hall at the fairgrounds here in Richfield. And then for the prizes, they made everybody go outside and sit on cold chairs for an hour. We were all freezing!

Velda-you just drop in when you can. We are glad to have you at the table. When do you plan to leave for Texas? We are 1100 miles from home. In the past, we have always done it in three days, but Bill has discovered the comfort of driving only 250 miles a day so now it takes us a little longer. But this trip he may drive a little faster. I have chiropractor appointment wed morning.

Tina, I hope you find some sewing time this weekend. I know you have about a gazillion projects waiting for your attention. Don't know how you find time for it all

Chickie, that's awful about the builder you had! And if he left town stealthily, I guess you probably had no recourse I love your little calves. They are so cute!

Becca, I would feel a renewed energy to get all the good news you have gotten lately about your health. So glad things are going well. You need your energy for your DH

Linda, Are things back on track now for your sunroom?

Irish, have you been back to take care of the kitties lately? I have one sitting on my lap at this very moment. He rarely sit on laps so this is indeed a big honor

Tonight will be supper on the road. I have chicken stroganoff that I will put over the Rice or noodles. And a salad Not sure where that dinner will happen. when we are headed for the barn sometimes travel days can be longer...

Good frigid morning!

Down to 33 last night!

Sorry Mary for our cold welcome to Utah. This cold snap took all of us by surprise. Usually the temps just drops slowly until the middle of October. But again, next weekend is General Conference and it always snows on Conference weekend. One way, not winning the big prize made it easy to head home without trying to tie it to your roof! There is no place like home! Be safe on the road!

Becca - that same burst of energy hit here too - gone too fast here! Things are well on this front.

Aaron did the call back interview and we are waiting to here from the city. They took Aaron on a tour of the facilities and a whole bunch of other stuff too. They told him that there were 40 who applied for the job, but only 10 had the qualifactions the city wanted. He was one of the 10. We are praying!

Dinner - soup of some sort - need all the warmth we can get!

Enjoy,
Jana

Good afternoon from another warm, sunny, summery day...Can't believe the great weather we're having and afraid when Mother Nature figures it out, we'll get hit with you know what.......My DSIL sent pictures of the snow they are having out in Tahoe and the mountains...Hard to believe!

Mary, sorry to hear your DS has been sick but hopefully, she'll bounce back for her ride home..Is it Foxy on your lap?...My Kelly, the one no one ever sees has been wanting more attention and sits at my side and "demands" it...I keep telling her, my lap is a good place if she'd like to use it....I've had chicken cooking so she's extra attentive today, lol....And no I haven't been back to take care of the kitties but will get back on the schedule as soon as the doc tells me, all is well...DOCTORS and RX!!!!! Years ago, our friends in Florida would travel, all summer, and there were days, they might only drive for an hour...Ginny would pick out all the back roads, find something along the way, she might like to see and they'd stop...It might take them 6 weeks to get up here but so what....Always wanted to travel with her, she did indeed see the sights.....

Becca, wish that spurt of energy would come my way...Although, I did go through my clothes and packed away some of the summer stuff...But, have so much outside stuff to do and I'm afraid it will be next year and I'll still be working on this year's stuff, lol...Terry sent me pictures of some of the scenery from Western Carolina University (where Nick goes) and I thought it might not be too far from you...That part of the country is absolutely gorgeous, hoping I can get there one of these days.....

Chickie, just loved the pictures of your "babies" and kind of makes me miss living on the farm, just a little.....Also can relate a little on the builders...It seems everyone I've gotten to do work has disappeared....Just really can't trust too many people any more, which is a darn shame....

Jana, SNOW and Furnace, hate to hear that....I did tell DSIL, Tim, to keep it out there but didn't want it to come to your house....Guess I shouldn't brag about my clothes hanging on the line and temps in the 80s....

Today is ugly day, not too much but enough to keep the Board of Health from stopping by, lol....I'm going to try to get up to see Jim again today...The last time I stopped, we found him in another fellow's room, sound asleep...And there's always a problem with his shoes, they're always missing...They tell me, other residents like to "shop" in other rooms, lol....So, I keep a pair of shoes in the car just in case we want to take a ride or just a walk...He was so happy with his "new" shoes, said, he might sleep with them on, lol....

For my dinner, I had cooked some chicken and made gravy...The other day, my sister had chicken, biscuits and gravy and it was so darn good, I had to make some..Of course, as I said, Kelly also likes chicken and she'll be glad to help eat it....

Hope you all have a great day.....

Happy eating...............
