Supper club -September 22

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri Sep 22, 2017 1:07 am

Good morning everybody

We have rain here today after a lot of wind yesterday. A few branches fell down in our campsite one on the steps of the trailer and one on top of our ATV. No riding today, the last day. It is chilly and rainy here and snowy a little higher up. Some of the braver soul's might do it but not us. Today we will be loading our buggy up and getting ready to make a daylight get-away tomorrow.

Jana, your floor cleaner sounds great, what does it do about carpeting?

Linda, sorry about your leaky sunroom. I hope things got cleaned up OK. You and water don't seem to mix well do you. Bill and I have helped to set up a quilt show of about 600 quotes. We were simply grunt help along with about a dozen other people hanging quilts and at the end taking them down. The organization was way over our skill level! And we did recognize how much work that was. All we had to do was keep them in order and that was difficult enough.

Becca, such great news to hear! Scary to go through stuff like that.

Tina, so sorry you can't see your oldest brother. I had forgotten that he lived in Germany. I do hope he recovers well from his surgery. D o you have your chores all done now? The thing about those kinds of chores is they are never truly done are they.

Chickie, I know you were busy yesterday helping Doyle build an extension on the fishing dock in your pond. Such a pretty view the pond is out of your sewing room.

Irish, what's happening in your neighborhood? Is Jim doing better today?

Tonight there is the last big event-a dinner put on by the OHV association. I hear it will be chicken and so far any food they have served us has been really good. They give away a mountain of prizes and one of them is a new ATV. I am not sure how we would get it home. Someone said they would make a deal and you could get it from a dealer at home. Otherwise, it would be a second trip back to Utah. Maybe it's just best if we don't win the big prize

What will be on your plate tonight?

Hi Maryz and all the other regular people at the table.
I know I hit and miss a lot. Some days I just don't even get on the laptop. I read posts from my phone and it's so different trying to post with a phone. Small screen and big fingers. LOL

I fixed a fast left over supper last night because of dancing night, so tonight, I better do more. Thinking maybe a batch of spaghetti.

Mary, you ATV event sounds like everyone has a blast. I hope you win some nice prizes. For you to travel to Utah, you said it's a four day trip. That's quite a distance! Safe travels. Enjoy your final day.

I will peek in later and read everyone's dinner ideas.

Hugs

Good morning! I was having a terrible time trying to figure out what day it is. I seem to meet myself coming and going.

Mary—hope you didn’t have any major damage from the wind! I’m not a cold weather rider, either, and certainly NOT cold and wet at once!!! That takes all the fun out of it. Hope you win a big prize! I keep telling DH that I need my own ATV as I never see the one we have as he uses it all the time. He didn’t think we needed one when I was looking at them and he was looking at tractors. He uses it constantly around the farm. I hope you win a new one!!! I’d try to convince DH to buy your used one for me. Maybe I’d just have to buy it myself!!!

Vel--I have the same problem posting from my phone. It has a mind of its own with spelling, too, along with my fat finger messes. Always good to see you. I'm hit or miss it seems as well. I just get busy and forget to get to my laptop.

Jana—I think I need to look at your floor cleaner. I vacuum, mop and polish in three or four different processes. It wears me out real fast!

Linda—What is it about remodeling/construction that brings out more problems than it fixes? We have been real fortunate with this house. I built a house after my late DH died and used a contractor that had been a friend of his. He said he would take care of me, and oh brother! He did!!! And NOT in a good way!!! It was a mess—plumbing not connected under the house… fortunately, I worked and went in to exercise early and showered at the gym about every day… The whole thing was a nightmare! The contractor left town under darkness, and I was stuck with the repairs as were a bunch of other householders and people who only had part of their construction finished.

Yes, we added 12 feet to the dock. The pond is down so much from no rain, and DH could wade out and set the posts. It starts dropping fast not too much farther out, but this was a good opportunity for the extension we wanted to add. Now, I need to find time to drop a hook… There are bass and crappie in the pond.

Tina—that has to be so hard for you not getting to see your brother. So glad you can have phone visits. Do you skype?

We went out to dinner with DS2 and his wife. They invited us for my altering her MOG dress. The wedding is next weekend! I told her I’d make desserts for the rehearsal dinner for Friday night. We had a fun visit. When we got back, I was feeding the little calves in the dark. I took out a flashlight, but it didn’t have a good charge and went out soon after I got outside. I had to call the little ones as they weren’t in their pen and had gone around behind to the watermelon patch area. They heard me calling and came trotting around with open mouths and licking their lips.

I need to work on my floors before DH returns from coffee, so best get busy… Dinner tonight will be leftovers—fiesta chicken for me and sirloin and baked potato for DH. I also have green beans to fix and salads. There’s pumpkin spice cake for dessert.

Bon appétit!

Good frigid morning!

We gave in and turned on the furnace this morning - inside the house was 63 degrees! No sun in sight to warm up the house. Last night Michael had to go out and clean off the DISH receiver from collected snow, as the snow totally block the signal. This is September!

Dinner is unkown as we may go out, uptown in the big mall at City Creek. They have a huge food court and a group from the Ward are meeting there and then going across the street to the new Church History Museum for a tour.

Got to scoot,
Enjoy,
Jana

Hi, I'm extremely late! It's almost bedtime.
I'm glad I get to talk to my brother, we do Skype and some other video chat every so often and I try to set it up so we can when Mom is here our I'm there, I can only do it when he's feeling up to it, he had a very rare blood disease that does like leukemia and Parkinson's at the same time. They're giving him chemo and it seems to be helping but he has bad bad days. Thank you all for your kind words.

We went to Si Senor tonight and had Mexican food, I really enjoyed it. Then we went to the store. Mom and Dad aren't coming down this weekend so I'm not sure if we have any plans. Maybe I'll get to sew? ! :)
