SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, Aug 19
Good morning!
We're going to about 74 degrees today. Purrfect! But we have a cloudy morning first. Our big project of the day - wood! I bet you're getting is tired of hearing that as I am! lol! our woodshed has 4 sections and each section holds about 2 cords. Today we're going to move the oldest, driest wood into the garage so we have space to stack the last of our green wood. When we get the dry moved, we'll finish up splitting/stacking the green. It should all be done sometime next week! While we were out there yesterday I got some weeding done, too. Hope to get a bit more done today. And yes, I even managed to get in a wee bit of sewing! But I ditched the vacuuming. I manage to talk myself out of that almost every day! lol!
BECCA- I hope your DGS's business comes to no harm during the frenzy. you made me think - we should also fuel up our car. We'll have about 92% here, but there's still a lot of traffic - mostly trying to get to Oregon. I'm glad your son is taking over the mowing. It's a big job, even on a riding lawnmower. Are you trying to lose weight? Or did it just happen? I'm glad you got some response at least but I wish it had been faster and that you actually had an appointment much sooner than "September".
LINDA - the business is done, you found your old restaurant, and you have a new Featherweight! Life is smiling on you! Sorry you have dental woes now. They do a lot of procedures differently now. Our dentist does the same thing with crowns, only he has dispensed with the labs and makes his own crowns - all in one visit. I haven't done one like that yet, but he says it's pretty slick. I didn't ask if it was cheaper . . . afraid to!
JANA - enjoy your ride! Taking a day long ride used to be the entertainment of the day when I was growing up. Most Sundays found us exploring mountain passes, the ocean beaches, or taking the Olympic Loop. Hope you get home for the fiesta! Thank you for the invitation. We most likely won't take you up on it though because we will be in a time crunch. I can't believe when we made the plans and reservations for our ocean trip that we forgot about the Utah trip! Since the ocean outing involves lots of other folks, there is no changing it. We just have to make it work.
Tonite we have been invited to a small gathering at our friend's art studio. He is a glass artist and gaining some national attention this past year. He was working out of the back of his garage but now has a beautiful new studio in the woods on the back of his property. About 4 couples will be there, all our friends. We all take a bottle of wine and an appetizer. (I'm taking tiny pesto cheese tarts). He does this about once a year and there is always enough food to call it 'supper'. It's fun to see the business end of his art, but there are always some finished pieces to admire, too.
What's on your menu for tonite?

Good morning from semi sunny, warm, pleasant, SW. Pa....It's going to be about 80 but we might get some rain later.....
Mary, you really do have an exciting life....Playing in the wood pile, sewing, camping and visiting with special friends, did I mention, playing in the wood pile......You really don't let much grass grow under your feet do you? I am always amazed at some of the glass objects that are hand made...We had a display at the flower show in Pittsburgh not too long ago and it was unbelievable....Enjoy your 'supper'......
Becca, Sorry to hear you have to wait until Sept. for your appointment but good to hear you've leveled off....I guess gone are those days when you can call a doc and them tell you to come right in, lol....
I have the sheets on the line and hopefully will get them back on the bed before I leave to visit Jim...I hate coming home to an unmade bed...Also, just trying to do the Sat. uglies, make the house look presentable....
Kevin and Cindy picked up their new baby yesterday and stopped on their way home...She is an adorable 2 month old English Bull Dog who has lots of wrinkles to grow into...She is also a snuggler and Grammy didn't want to give her back...They're trying to come up with the perfect name but so far, it's Baby....Cindy said, she would be crated but guess who slept on Daddy, Kevin's chest all night......Not saying she's going to be spoiled, heaven forbid!
For my dinner, it might be a burger or it might just be a toasted cheese with tomato..........
You all have a great day.....
Happy eating............

Home. Stu is at college, sans his wallet which he forgot here in Herriman. So it will be another run down to get it to him. The school let him in his dorm and his food card, so he is OK for awhile. His car will be ready this week, but his parents are gone for the entire wweek, so it could be another week after that until he has his car. Do I see a soap opera in this? LOL!
Then the quilt shops were closed!
Mary - we were headed to Richfield after leaving Stu off. We went in on I 15 to Nephi, then through Fountain Green. A very nice easy driving road. It took us to Ephraim. But the road we came home was fabulous - very easy and the quickest way to Richfield from I 15. You turn off at exit 222 in the south end of Nephi and it takes you to Gunnison, then on to Richfield. Gentle grade - rather flat - two lane road. No canyons to have to traverse. It may be a quick way in and out for your trip. I can get you the hwy numbers, and Bill can use google maps to see. Very easy for your rig to pull. The road goes through the little towns of Levan, Fayette, and Gunnison, then on to Richfield. No mountain passes! Hope this may help.
Dinner was the Ward party. Yummy mexican - my neighbor did all the cooking - authentic, she is from Mexico. Homemade mole sauce!
Well, it is bedtime,
See ya tomorrow.
Jana
