SUPPER CLUB - Sat, July 22nd

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Jul 22, 2017 3:24 am

Good Morning,

Another pretty day here for us in the PNW. Purrfect for our BBQ today. Friends from Bend, OR will be here later this morning in their fifth-wheel (Arctic Fox, of course) to spend two nights. They know everyone who will be here today. In fact, while it's not an Arctic Fox 'do' or even an RV party, we all have Arctic Fox RV's. Just happened that way.

Yesterday here on Supper Club I posted from FB, a photo of us at the restaurant we went to for Bill's BD. I was experimenting. The first try failed, the second worked (and I forgot how I did it!) and the third was supposed to be a different photo. But I will keep practicing. Also, QIAD is working on a new method of posting pix.

BECCA - will say prayers and hold good thoughts for you for your next blood draw.

LINDA - Happy Birthday tomorrow!! Enjoy your trip to San Diego. thanks for the FEatherweight info. A few years ago Bill took Nova's 8-hour class at Houston Quiltfest on maintaining our little babies. It's a huge deal just oiling them!

MARY ROSE - happy you are joining us at the supper table! Did you bring Tina along? You girls enjoy your time together!

JANA - are your 'skinnies' the same as the ones in the Quilted Skinnies book?

CHICKIE - I can just see 50 grown cattle crowding into our babies' pen for a snack! Yikes! your pond is beautiful! you have a new little relative and they named her "Chickie"?? Adorable! ;o) You should make your bibs, or blankies with chickies on them.

Today we are doing burgers, dogs, and brats on the barbie. There will also be watermelon, chips, dips, and a layered Mexican dip. And I have some jars of bean salad from Costco if we run short. friends will be bringing side dishes (I hope!). If not, we also have half a birthday cake and ice cubes we can serve! lol!

Come on over! There's plenty for everyone!

Good afternoon!

Mary - love the centerpiece on the table! He is so ready for the party! Thanks for the email on posting.

Becca - that knee better hurry up and stop hurting! You deal with enough without that too!

Gracie is here. So different with a quiet little girl rather than a noisy little boy! Instead of trucks, we are watching princess movies.

Dinner is my baked parmesan chicken with fresh corn.

Sarah will give me her code to her server that she has her blog on and I can use that too if I want to post pictures.

My skinnies are not from that book. They are from the Ribbon Candy Quilt Company. Really fast. Last night I almost finished the popciscle one. We pieced the five different flavored pops. Ethan had fun going through my scrap baskets to find the fabrics for each flavor. Ethan loves to play in the Batt Cave and when I need a button pushed on the sewing machine, he runs over and does it for me. There are so many buttons on my new machine, one to lower the foot, one to raise it, another to cut the tbread, one to start the pattern at the beginning and still I haven't found the maid button! LOL

Grandma needs to bring down my t-shirt knit basket and see if I have any that will work for school shirts for Ethan. Kindergarten starts the end of August. I have all the old Stretch and Sew patterns to make shirts from. I even have the little girls underwear pattern. I made those when Sarah was little. Back then, about the only thing I didn't sew for the kids was their jeans!

Well, time to go, naptime for my little princess,
Enjoy,
Jana

Good late afternoon! We are 100 degrees with a feels like 114. It definitely feels like it!

I had a nice visit with Mom today. She was having a better day than she had all week. In fact, she went to the doctor yesterday and had her arthritis medication changed; already she feels better. I made the label for her quilt and sewed it on the quilt for her. We had lunch, and she was ready for her nap.

I think I’m going to make baby bibs for the two new babies. They will probably take as long as a quilt, but I think they are fun. I wish I had some Cat in the Hat fabrics for the little boy. I just need some scraps for bibs.

Not much else is happening. I’ve been trying to find the recipe for lime pickles that Mom used to make. I find similar, but not sure they are correct. My niece sent a recipe, but it has no lime in it. I definitely remember rinsing the lime off in the grass outside. It made the grass beautiful!

Dinner tonight will be steak for DH. I’ll clean up the rest of the taco meat, and there is some rice-a-roni to heat up. I’ll add a salad. It’s too hot to cook much.

Mary—is that a bag of chips or catnip? Looks like Foxy is ready for the Fox party and is hoping that is a sack of catnip!

Jana—I remember looking at your skinnies, and I loved the popsicles! I remember when my little guy (who is now 18) would help me “sew”! Enjoy!!! Let me know if your Pfaff has that maid button; don’t think mine has one, but I love the scissors!

Becca—If I don’t have aches and pains, I’m probably not living. My neck has been really stiff. Must be how I’m sleeping.

I’m going to to out and check on DH—working on his truck outside! Hope he’s o.k.! I’m sure he is, but it’s crazy hot out there. Then… back to my sewing room to look for bib fabrics. Don’t have to check…

Bon appétit!
