Wed, JULY 19
Good morning,
I am up earlier than usual this morning. Bill scratched his eye yesterday - his only eye - while cutting dead branches from some shrubs. It kept bothering him, though of course he refused to go to an urgent care or his doctor. Finally I gave him an IBU-PM. Which of course, meant an early bedtime here. So kids and I were up at 0400.
I read where Chriss was evacuated yesterday evening because of fire. she is staying at her dad's house. I think she could use some prayers. I would guess her gramma, who lives next to her, probably went with her, too.
I got a good start on my four Seahawk window banners yesterday. I'm trying to decide if I should use batting, a stiffer fusible, or a thinner 'stuffing, like flannel. They will be about 20" square. I'm taking ideas . . .
CHICKIE - your day was like a page from a horror story or a comedy. Still trying to decide. . But a brown recluse is serious business. Worse than black widows. My DD's MIL was bitten by one a few years ago and 6 weeks later she still had an open wound in her leg the size of a grapefruit. She was really sick.
TINA - You've been keeping busy, I see! That's too bad about your mattress. That company head would be receiving a letter for sure! Do you flip and turn your mattress regularly? Ours is over 20 years old but I know new mattresses aren't made like this one anymore and we still sleep comfy, so we're sticking with it!
IRISH - Maybe you could take some kittens on a field trip to visit Jim . . . Or better yet = ME!! Have you decided on how your new wedding quilt will look? colors? You said sampler so I believe you mean every block will be different.
JANA - sounds like bad days were going around! Poor Matt! They are really breaking in that trailer!
BECCA - aka, "That girl". LOL! Don't you just love 'little kid isms'?! So sorry your hubby was down and out for a few days. I hope he was able to enjoy your friends' visit.
Supper again . . . Well, we never got to the chili relleno casserole yet, so I think today's the day! Along with refried beans and sliced tomatoes and cucumbers. Oh, and we have one ear of corn to share.
p.s. Bill just woke up and said he eye is much better. Thank goodness. He hasn't got a spare.

Good morning
I saw where Chriss was evacuated, I forgot about her grandma living so close. I hope everything will be ok. Prayers for her family.
Mary, I hope Bill's eye doesn't have any after affects. ... you'd think with it being his only eye that he would've been the one asking you to take him to get it checked out before you could even form that thought. ... men. ...
These new mattresses that they make aren't flipable, you can turn them in a circle but that's it, only 1 side to sleep on. .... Crazy!
I went and picked up Holly and the kids because Adam was a grouchy. That way he got to sleep and clean the house all day undisturbed. When we took them home though he was nowhere to be seen, I don't know if he was asleep or gone. Holly said he was there but I'm not sure if he really was. We didn't want to leave her alone with the boys and Jazmyne came home with us.
We have Dr's appointments this morning. .. me for my elbow; it's not getting any better
and Holly for a follow-up. We're wondering if they put the wrong stitches in her because she seems in too much pain still.
Supper last night ended up being tacos and rice, requested by Holly and I was cooking whatever she wanted, plus I baked her cookies
I think her tummy was happy yesterday.
Tonight will be the chicken. Mary Rose should be here this evening! We get to play! ! My older brother invited our sister to supper. .. She hung up on him because she didn't know who he was she said and then when he called her back he said that's not nice to hang up on your brother and I think she said which one I have 3 and he didn't say so she hung up on him again! He called her back with directions ..... I'm surprised he didn't tell her off! Then she called me and told me about it and asked me if any kids were over there and I told her or SIL sent me a picture that morning of all 5 of their grandkids together so I said I think they're there and she said. ... just great, I don't want to be around a bunch of loud brats! She said she might turn around and not go. I haven't talked to our SIL yet to see how the evening went.
Mom is doing pretty good still and Dad is keeping busy outside so I'm thinking there must've been a talk about that.
Tina
Oh Chickie, I think Doyle should go to the Dr. ... don't want to mess around with that note for sure!

Good morning!
Mary -good to read that Bill is douig better today. That scratch would indeed be scary!
Tina - hope things still quiet down and your elbow gets better quick! What fun to have Mary Rose for a visit.
We are hot and windy, but lots of cloud cover, which means thunderstorms. A good thing and bad. The lightning is bad for starting fires, but the rain, drops the temps so fast. Smells good too!
I finished another skinnie yesterday. So made up a couple of them into kits for Sarah and me. But made a big boo-boo. Cut the backs too short by forgetting that you add borders to the skinnie. But alas, only you guys will know my mistake, as where that seam will be for the mistake, is right where you add the sleeve for hanging. So it will look like it is supposed to be there! LOL
Dinner - breakfast still awaits here, as Ethan will be back with Grandpa after they drop off Stu's new to him car, at the mechanic's for a fluid change and check over. I need a run to the store for fresh veggies and milk, so will see what looks yummy to go with chicken.
Enjoy!

Re: Wed, JULY 19
Good early afternoon from warm, sunny, SW. Pa...Today they are saying it's a day to have on the AC, stay indoors and a "do not use the mower" type of day....So, I guess I can't get the mower out and attempt to cut the grass, gosh darn!
Mary, I think I'd still be taking Bill to see someone about the eye, although, eyes do seem to heal very quickly...The quilt I'm doing is an Irish chain in red/black and white...Weird not using green but it is turning out nice...The sampler is a cross stitch pattern with quilt blocks all around the edge and then in the middle has the couple's name and wedding date....
You know after reading about all the happenings that are going on with you gals, I lead a very, very quiet life, thank goodness....With worrying about Bill's eye, Chriss being evacuated, Tina with her sister problems and trying to take care of everyone, Chickie running non stop and having Doyle bitten by a nasty spider, I'll stick with my boring life, thank you......
Today, will be a visit with Jim and then meeting my sister and her birthday DH for Chinese...Knowing them, most of the family will show up so it should be a fun time....AND speaking of my sister, she called about a kitten the neighbors had found...How come, as soon as word gets out that you help with an animal organization, you start getting phone calls????But, the neighbor is hoping their landlord will let them keep it but if not, I have a feeling, I'll be fostering until we can get it vetted and up for adoption...I know, how hard can it be, 1 little kitten BUT, I'm the one who can't give them up if I've fostered! So, we'll see.....
Being I'm eating out, I don't have to come up with a dinner plan.....
You all have a great day.....
Happy eating.................

Purrfect Lady - I would not linger about your hubby's eye, problems could show up later and with only 1 eye, it might be something to think about.
I worked for a large eye clinic in St. Louis, as a travelling receptionist.
Keep us posted.
AND the rest of you dear ladies, with my CFIDS and recovering from Pneumonia, I can only write a shot note and wish you God's blessings and have a gread day. So please forgive me.
Hugs to you all,
Helen
