Psalm 68
Let God Arise! that should be the passion, the desire, and the cry of our hearts; that God would arise and manifest Himself and His power among us. How we need God to arise and intervene in our nation and throughout the world! We need God to arise and restore our families. We need Him to assert Himself and His lordship in our lives that we might walk in holiness and live in a way that glorifies HIM. Three general themes reflected when God arises and manifests His Presence and Power.
1. He rebukes the rebellious
2. He rewards the righteous.
3. He restores the rejected.
When we stop and meditate on all the wondrous works of God, as the psalmist did, we are reminded of His strength and power and majesty. He brought his people through the wilderness, brought rain to the parched land, scattered forces of opposition, and revealed His holiness at Mount Sinai. When God arises, His strength and presence are like myriads of chariots. He rides upon the highest heavens, and all the kingdoms of the earth will recognize His power and sing praise to His name.
