SUPPER CLUB - Friday, June 16th
Good morning!
the rain is letting up! Yay! We hate to travel in rain. We did pull the trailer out yesterday though in the middle of a downpour when we knew Vicki wouldn't be outside, haranguing us. But we've made enough major changes to our property that we were able to turn that rig around in our back yard and head out to our "launch pad" in the front. And nary a tire touched her property.
Also, we locked Foxy in the house yesterday afternoon so he wouldn't be able to pull his disappearing act on us again. So now all we need to do is shower, make the bed, and pack the fridge. We are in no hurry though. Waiting for rush hour to die down and then we will be off, going south down I-5, cross the Columbia, and then east 100 miles to our 'jumping off place', a bar on the river. We'll be there two nights. We have friends, also on their way to the rally, who are waiting for us on the Columbia. tomorrow we are all going to a special wine tasting event at Maryhill Winery on the WA side of the river. If you take a dog, you get in for free. And we just happen to have a very pretty, freshly groomed sheltie. He's going to be our ticket to some great wines! I have some wine fabric and I think I'll quickly make him a neckerchief to wear. .
BECCA - sorry things are breaking at your house. Not to be a doomsdayer, but things do tend to come in threes though . . . The little girls will love their doll quilts! I remember having one when I was little and it was like gold to me!
IRISH - no tomatoes yet?? It's been over a week since you planted them and gave them your pep talk, right? What's the deal with them??? 600,000 of your closest friends? You must really get writer's cramp at Christmas card time!!
CHICKIE - you can have all the rain you want!! Though it made good cover for us yesterday when we pulled our trailer out front. But boy, did I get wet! Bill was in the truck, but I'm the one outside with the walkie talkie directing. I will admit he did offer to change places.
JANA - yes, we have an exact Stonehenge replica on the WA side of the Columbia, and we will probably be visiting that tomorrow as we'll be camped only 5 miles from there. It's next to the winery we're going to. Also, there is Maryhill Museum there, once a glorious mansion high on the cliffs overlooking the river, built by Sam Hill for his wife, Mary. The same Sam Hill of "Where in the Sam Hill . . .?" fame. I forget how that phrase came to be. Maybe I'll remember when we get there.
I have no clue about supper tonite. We have a few mashed potatoes left over from last night so perhaps we'll have potato pancakes and fried eggs and bacon . . . always something very simple on travel days.
We will have internet at our rally, but that won't be until Tuesday, but I do have my phone so if any of you need me before then, feel free to send me a text, an e-mail, or you can even call me! lol!
hugs around!

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Friday, June 16th
We had a stormy night with power outage. There was a lot of thunder and lightning in the area, but none hit close. I had to go take care of Choc and Maggie before bedtime, and I miscalculated the speed of the storm coming in. Choc and Maggie got out and back inside with minimal wetness. Unfortunately by the time I got back home, it was a downpour. The Hooligans had gone with me (DH, too), and when we returned, Tinker Bell and Boomer didn’t want to get out of the car because of the storm. I got soaked getting them out of the car. Poor Boomer had to be scooped out of the back floorboards and carried inside. DH stood on the porch with a torch so I could see what I was doing. Finally, everyone was inside, car doors shut, and I got to dry and completely change. Then the power went off. It was only off a few hours, but we went to bed.
All is clear and fresh today. Unfortunately, it’s going to be hot again. I have to go to town with DH and help mow at the rentals.
Mary—I feel your wetness! We needed the rain more than you did, I’m sure. Have a fun trip! Ha, ha! Grandpa used to say, “Where in the Sam Hill……?”
Dinner here… something with ground beef. I have a zucchini brought by one of the coffee guys. I need to find Tina’s recipe for those zucchini boats, but I can’t remember what they are called. I’m thinking with some Mexican rice on the side…
Bon appétit!

Good morning!
Mary - we use that Sam Hill phrase all the time! Maybe if Scottie is extra cute, you will get a freebie or two! Matt is finally get the hang of parking his rig in the backyard. It helps that he widened the pad and the gate.
Chickie - rain is good - but wet dogs , not so good! It looked like we might get a storm last night, but it skipped me. Just hot and no wind.
Dinner - I brought up a corned beef from the freezer to cook. It may be tonight or tomorrow. All depends on what my jump in the basket when we go shopping. Sarah and Ethan are coming too.
Time to shower, shampoo, and shine, as the old commercial said,
Enjoy,
Jana

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Friday, June 16th
Good late morning from another warm and not as sunny, but nice, SW. Pa....Not sure if we're to get more rain today but last night, once again had a dilly of a storm...I had just left Jim, was on my way home and thought I might have to pull over and then later, it was nasty...Normally, the cats don't mind, but these bummers were extra loud and I ended up with a lap full of snugglers....
Mary, by now, you're probably well on your way and once again, I'll just ride along and mentally, enjoy the trip with you....My Jackie is leaving on the 29th and asked me to thank you for that list...They are going to try to see quite a few things you had suggested....Maybe I'll ride along with her, also, lol....And my Mom used that "Where in the Sam Hill" quite often....Now you know it's stuck in my head now....And no, those tomatoes are not producing...Just can't understand, maybe they didn't like the tune I was singing....And to avoid writer's cramp, I just take out a full page in our paper, very personal!
I know Vicki is "watching" the house but is there anyone else that we should be concerned about??? Just asking.......
Chickie, wet dogs, oh my! Scared wet dogs a big OH MY! Now, you've made me hungry with those zucchini boats...Jim didn't really care for them and I'd end up eating it all myself...Not sure if I'll be getting any zucchini, the deer seem to have taken a liking to the leaves..(And it's hidden in my flower bed).....
Becca, don't like to hear about things breaking...Even with my new washer, I panic if I think it doesn't sound right....Is this the day your DH has his doctor's appointment? Hoping and praying for some good news....Hang in there dear friend.....
Today is ugly day for sure....Nick had flipped the mattress in our bedroom and this morning I finally got things put back (with BabyGirl's help)..Since Jim isn't here, I haven't been able to sleep in that room but maybe I'll give it a try...That's been our bed for over 50 years and just doesn't seem right, him not being here....The downstairs will wait until tomorrow....Last night's storm did a lot of damage...The rain came so hard, it rolled down the big roof, onto the porch roof and right in the flower beds and of course pushed mulch and dirt right onto the porch...What a mess but I have to wait until it dries up a bit before I try to clean it up.....But, it could have been so much worse....Years ago, the water came down though the yard, took all the mulch and top soil and deposited it in the neighbor's yard a street below..So what's a little dirt on the porch???
As for dinner, I also have left over mashed potatoes and might throw in an egg and call it dinner (of course with lots of butter).....I was going to bake cookies but I'll wait until morning...Jim has gotten his appetite back and loves when I bring him goodies.....
Happy eating...............
You all have a great day.....

Hello everyone,Hot one here today.
We had a long wait at Dr as He was being worked in.have to share my experience with youquilters.I took a dolly quilt to hem while waiting.A man came over to me & said it was sure good to see someone sewing.Asked if I quilted & how. Before it ended Iknew his life history. He has a quilt on his chimney & he showed me the picture on his phone. He even said my stitches were all neat & even.lol
Maryz If I would have had a dollyquilt I would have felt
Ike a princess. One little grand Laurel the twins sister Loves hers. And Avery carries hers with her & wraps the babies.I am amazed.Enjoy your trip.Sounds like fun.
Went to mailbox couple days ago & there are 2 Ansertry DNAboxes. Our DS had them sent.Thought of you.
Irish These Dr visits are getting to be tedious. At least the next one is 3 months.Trying him on pills to see if they help.
So gladyouhad a visit with DGS.Always a special treat.

Chickie Your life is never boring to say the least. Those Holligans are more trouble than kids.Iused to tell my Daushaund that I spent more on him than my children.lol
We ate out again.Couldnt get in where we wanted but we ate & come home worn out.I still have to mow yet.Have a great day. Becca
Have to share this.We were in hi 80s yesterday. In the grocery store I see a lady looked to be in 80s or 90 .She had on long coat buttoned all the way up,gloves & a Tobagan.I couldn't believe it.
