SUPPER CLUB - Sat, June 3rd

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Jun 03, 2017 3:07 am

Good morning!

We never did get any work done in the wood yesterday. The hours just flew by and suddenly the day was gone. Bill was on the phone with Comcast for an hour. More modem problems. Then he was working on the ATV, trying to fit the new battery in. Now its running and we had to load it up to take it to Bremerton, 25 miles north, to get it inspected. After that, we brought it home, switched vehicles, and went to the DOL office to spend half a lifetime in line to get it licensed. I did get in a little bit of sewing and spent quite a bit of time reading my son's book. I'm a bit more than halfway through it. I'm so proud of him! It needs some work, but it's a good, original story. I keep forgetting that it's MY SON'S book and not just a regular book by a regular author! I'm so proud of him. I hope it doesn't show too much - just enough. :o))

Today I think we'll be splitting/stacking wood. I hope to have a little time to read/sew a bit and then we are meeting friends at 3pm for an early supper at a Mexican restaurant. A simple day. At least that's how we've planned it!

TINA - glad to hear Mom has moved to a regular room. She'll be going home soon. I hope the pond stuff works for you! I bet Kevin and Frankie do too. Did you ever get your sewing room switched around?

JANA - everyone in your family sure keeps busy and involved! Did you get Michael's quilt finished yet?

BECCA - I hope all the appointments and errands this week went well for you and your DH. Oh, I did all the moving and rearranging the day BEFORE the chiropractor appt. And my back tolerated it all very well! And I'm feeling 1000% better after seeing him for a month. He is cutting my appointments back to weekly now instead of 3x/week.

CHICKIE - how are all your babies doing? The Hooligans and the Hoodlums? Oh, and then you get to 'borrow' the other three "dog-a-teers"! Are berries ripe at your place yet? Nothing here for another month or two.

IRISH - I saw your Penguins won! Our local news had a story about a woman who had a message on her phone from someone who was trying to give 4 game tickets to their friends. She called them back, told them they had the wrong number. Later she got a call from the same people who said their friends already had two tickets so they only took 2 of his tickets and would this woman like the other two? So she got to go to the game courtesy of a nice stranger! I pointed at the screen and told Bill, "That's Irish's team!! they won!!"

Well, I already told you supper for us will be something Mexican at the restaurant. We were planning to sit on their patio, but looking at the weather today, we may be fighting for an inside table!

I hope there's no fighting at YOUR table tonite!

Good afternoon from warm, sunny, purrrrfect, SW. Pa....There is a slight breeze, great for drying sheets on the line.....

I didn't turn on the "puter" yesterday so had to go back and catch up with everyone and sounds like you all were very busy...Lots of things happening in all your lives and most of it is good stuff, thank goodness....

Jim had an appointment with the slice and dicer but came out with no bandaids, which had to have been a first...We also went to lunch and then stopped at Dairy Queen...He wasn't too anxious about me leaving him but an aide came along and invited him to go outside with her...But, it sure doesn't get any easier leaving him behind...

Today is big time "ugly" day, from top to bottom and lots in between...I do have the sheets on the line and still need to run the vacuum inside and then I can go outside and play in the dirt some more....I did get the tomatoes planted the other day and darn, no red ones yet! The neighbors got the grass cut and I'm thinking maybe I can get the weed whacker out and do some trimming...It seems, everyone in the neighborhood is away for the day, so I can maybe do something without someone running to tell me not too...I have wonderful neighbors, very protective....

Not sure what I'll be having for dinner...I just had another meatloaf sandwich for lunch so maybe I'll make a salad later....(maybe by then a tomato will be ripe, lol)......You know what they say about a watched pot, well that goes for tomatoes too.....

Happy eating.................

Another big Penguin hockey night....The Pens are 2-0 in the run for the Stanley cup and tonight they play in Nashville....
GO PENS!

Good aftwrnoon!

Irish - I've been keeping track on the Stanley Cup - go Penguins! 2 up is a good thing.

Mary - I once had to proof read a book - Matt's Engineering thesis - not nearly as much fun as you are having with your son's book. I hope that it becomes a gest seller!

Becca - my veggies and fruits too are being supplied by the farm - the one Sarah runs. Works great for me - just twll hervwhat I want, and she brings it home. Farmer grown and delivered too!

It is a beautiful day, so something my appear from the bbq for our dinner.

Last night was fun with the kids. Matt did dutch oven cordon blue and dutch oven potatoes. We were out in the boonies! A couple of well kept outhouses and a faucet with running water. There was a very nice cemented area with tables and it was covered. The kids built a fire in the firepit there and I smell like smoke! But the ssying goes, smoke follows beauty LOL! We had more marshmellow flammage than toasted for smores, but the kids had lors of fun. What took most of the worry from me was the camping area had a fence and a gate around the perimeter. The creek was nearby and with all the little ones, it helped - dlowed them down - so we could keep track of all. There has been a large number of kids falling in the creeks and rivers here, drowning, so I was a wee bit worried.

Time to quit being lazy and get something done!
Enjoy,
Jana
