SUPPER CLUB - Mother's Day! 2017

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun May 14, 2017 4:12 am

Good Morning and happy Mom's Day to all our Moms!

We've had a great time with Kenn & Sue and they just left about 0630 this morning, planning to make Mountain Home, ID by tonite. That's almost 600 miles - a lot of miles towing a big trailer. But they have a date with a graduation in NM so they have to put some hustle their bustle.

In the spirit of 'out with the old and in with the new', my DS and DDIL, Mike & Emily, will be arriving soon for brunch. It will be good to spend some time with them. We don't get to see them often. Mike's birthday is in two weeks and we might not get to see him on that weekend so we're going to give him his birthday gift today - a cement birdbath. Better he has to load it into his car than we into ours!! lol!

TINA - sorry the strawberry thing didn't work out. What a neat idea they were, though! I hope lunch is/was (not sure if it was yesterday or today) nice with your mom.

BECCA - that's a bummer about the quilts. I hope none were harmed by the weather. But thank you for giving us a reminder about an outdoor quilt show. We've been wanting to go to the one in Sisters for years but never made it. So now, thanks to you, we're making plans to go this year, FINALLY. Invited Kenn & Sue to go with us but they have a wedding to go to that weekend, so we've already got plans to go next year, too, with them.

JANA - I think your son will pick up the knack of backing quickly. All your kids seem very capable. I wish we had some of those cones sometimes. THey come in handy for RV-ers when parked in odd spots as sometimes happens. We put reflective tape on our slide so it shows when it is slid out. Occasionally we've had to park on a wide street when visiting a sister and it helps drivers to spot us.

IRISH - sending you a Mother's day hug!!

CHICKIE - and how was your mom's big night? I suppose you haven't had a chance to talk to her yet. And I'm sure you're busy making a big family brunch this morning - or at least going to one. I made your baking powder biscuits for Kenn & Sue. They were good, but still not up to your level. I keep practicing though!

LINDA - I've been working on some ideas for something to keep your hubby occupied when he finally retires. . . food bank, model trains (talk to Jana about that!), competition shooting/bullet reloading, charities (Habitat for Humanity is one that keeps people busy), restoring antique vehicles, volunteer medical check-ups for homeless, clogging, gardening, painting (house or pictures), QUILTING. I'll keep thinking . . ;o)

VELDA - what's happening in your world today?

Bill is making a big brunch of homemade hashbrowns, eggs, bacon, sausage, and biscuits for the kids this morning. And for supper we have a lot of food in the fridge so tonite will be leftover lasagna, salad, and garlic bread. I have a huge cooked pork chop, too, so I think I'll dice that up and freeze it for pork fried rice one day next week.

Wishing you all a sweet day.

Good morning!

Happy Mothers to all - moms, aunts , sisters, grandmothets - we all mother! Enjoy the day!

Dinner is a surprise - Crenda is cooking and later Sarah is bringing dessert.

I am at church - then later back home to hide in the Batt Cave.

It is cold, upper 30's, but no wind.

Do something fun!

Good morning :)

Happy Mother's Day to you all!

Yesterday was lunch with Mom and Dad, my brother and sister in law showed up too, they took Mom a bonsai tree which Mom has always wanted, she said she had a really good Mother's Day and was thrilled we were all there.
Frankie bought me a garden thing :) it's 2 little girls and 1 little boys in the middle setting ina long reading a book, it's super cute! I've always wanted one but they're way too expensive but I'm Hatch they have them from Mexico and it was only $28! It's about 2'x3' a very nice size and it's sitting by my waterfall :) I told Frankie too bad it wasn't 2 boys and 1 girl then it could've been Jazmyne and the boys :) I still love it though :)
Tonight I get taken out for supper at the truck stop about 30 miles east, it's my favorite place to eat American food :) it's good to be me!
I hope all your Mother's Day find you saying that it's good to be you today too!
