SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, May 13th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat May 13, 2017 2:53 am

Good Morning!

Kenn & Sue arrived yesterday afternoon in the middle of a cloudburst. We had such a nice evening, catching up and enjoying dinner. Today, Sue and I are off on our own shop-hop and the men are going to Seattle to the Boeing Air Museum. We'll meet back here at happy hour and share our days.

I received my DNA results back from Ancestry.com. And I was surprised to learn that despite all we were told growing up, we are NOT part Cherokee. There is not a drop of Native American blood in me! We are however, part Spanish and part Italian!! Surprise!! And I'm 54% English. My dad, when pressed, always used to say, "Well, maybe you're just a touch English". I'm still Irish, but only 13%, not 25% as we always thought. I haven't told my brothers and sisters yet. Just you all. This has been fun, fascinating, and enlightening!

JANA, nice catch on the date yesterday. What was I thinking? And I'd had coffee and everything! I'd like to be there to help arrange your Batt Cave. Then you'd REALLY be all discombobulated! lol!

CHICKIE - tonite is your mom's big night! Can't wait for you to hear all about it so you can tell us!

LINDA - so you got to see the original Kentucky Fried Chicken! It really burst on the fast food scene after that. We have the original Starbucks. A few years ago our visiting friends wanted to go there but the line was out the door, so DH and I went to a simple coffee shop down the block and waited. So I've seen it, but not gone into it.

BECCA - that Airing of the Quilts sounds awesome! Would love to see it. It sounds much like the big quilt show in Sisters, OR in July. All the quilts are hung outdoors through the whole town! (it's only about 4 blocks long) and visitors come from all over the country to admire them. Maybe this year we can go . .

IRISH - still sending you hugs, thoughts, prayers!

TINA - how are you feeling??

Today is rainy, but not nearly as bad as yesterday. My brother in Alaska has warmer, drier weather than we do! Oh well, we press on. Dinner tonite will be lasagna, broccoli salad, and garlic bread. Sue brought an apple pie so there are afters and we also have ice cream. And you're all invited!!!

Good morning :)
I'm feeling better Mary, thank you :) I'm les exhausted but still have this oh so lovely cough. I think there's 10 school days left. My day off really helped me feel les tired. Say hi to Sue and Ken for me :)
We're going to Mom and Dad's to take Mom her mother's day present; chocolate covered strawberries. .yummy! I used to buy her roses or something to plant but she never takes care of anything so I figured Dad doesn't need more to take care of.
Not sure what supper will be yet, we might eat with them somewhere.

Hello everyone,Cloudy & the rains came a while ago.Really hated it for the people at the show with quilts.Lots were just hanging not protected.

It was a really neat show. Not as pretty work as last year but still very pretty & interesting.I found me some fabric to buy.I also went to the Farmers Market while there.Found a real neat vendor with cookies jellies & cupcakes. My neighbor had given us her jelly & cupcakes before.Shes a great baker.
Then I stopped at Lowes. What a mistake!!! With it being Saturday before Mothers Day everyone was there.I waited in line about 15 mins.Of course I got in the line where there was a problem.Never fails.Ill go back next wk when theres less people.

Maryz. Enjoy your time with Sue. Hope alls well on the Home front with Vicky .

Tina Sure Glad to hear you are feeling better.Do hope you can get more rest this wkend.

Chickie I know it's your day for friends coffee visit & Moms visit.Hope her banquet goes well.

Irish We miss you & hope you are improving every day & getting stronger.Thinking of you .

It will be bacon here for DH .I have chicken breast for a salad. Becca

Good morning!

Mary - come on down! The Cave can always use help!

I got my new machine from my BFF, named Mary too, and she now needs to teach me how to use Ruby. Oh what trouble we will get into over at her shop. They even sent me a 25% discount card for one thing - humm -what?

We are heading off to gather groceries, so dinner may just jump into the basket.

Beautiful day here, windy and slightly cooler, but still dry and nice!

Matt was just here getting the orange cones to set up his practice layout for his rig. We have quite a collection of orange cones. The boys would find so called, abandoned cones, and bring them home. At least it wasn't stray animals! It is one of the family antics over the years.

Well, time to change laundry and get the shopping over with.

Enjoy yourctime with Sue and Kenn,

Jana

I went to pick up my chocolate covered strawberries but they weren't ready and said they were running an hour or so behind so I told them forget it and went and bought her some flowers in a cup. I made arrangements, placed my order 2-3 weeks ago for the strawberries, even talked to them Thursday to make sure they would be ready by 10am Saturday, yep no problem....then I got excuses today so I walked. I had already called and talked to Dad so we made lunch plans and we still ended up almost late because I had to go find her something else. Oh well though, I won't order anything else from the strawberry people. Oh and the picture I chose my order from was nothing like the picture she sent me when they were done, so I think I was lucky on this one. And nobody knew but you all so Mom wasn't disappointed with her present.

Just helped Aaron slice up 3 pork bellies that he cured for bacon. It is yummy! He left me some. We vacuum sealed it in 1lb bags.

Mary - the is always something as a surprise inbour genealogy! Frankly I don't trust those test 100 percent.
