Supper club -Thursday, April 20

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Apr 20, 2017 3:55 am

Good morning!

Poured rain last night but fortunately we had put most of our outdoor stuff away or under shelter. And it was nice to listen to on roof of our trailer. Had a nice day yesterday, found a few thrift treasures ( vintage books, candle holder, cat statue), and stopped in at another couple wineries. Didn't buy much there though. We leave today but decided to stop at a forest camp in the Yakima Canyon, a very scenic place, for one more night out. Our phones don't always work in the Canyon so if I am MIA for a few days you will know where to find me. This is where we were during 9/11 and so didn't get the news for a while.

Today is my Riley Kitty's 18th birthday. She can vote now!! We will celebrate with an extra spoon of wet food today. 🐈🎂

Tina, so happy to hear the stone is gone!! I bet your energy will pick up now. I wonder what's itching Frankie. Sounds like poor kathyquilts! I don't think she ever resolved what was causing her itch but did find an Rx that helps.

Becca - hooray for Gabriel!! Much happiness in twinville!

Chickie, sounds like your little charges are doing very well under your care! You could get a job as an NICU nurse! But for your sake let's hope all the rest of this seasons calves are born healthy!

Jana-bill is the opposite and always goes with Michelin tires. But then we very rarely, if ever, drive in snow.

Irish - are you seeing much of terry? Between his new job and looking for a new house he is probably pretty busy. Did you tell him about your daring-do adventures of a few days ago?

Our friends are going home today. They have been gone for a month and are anxious to see home again. Us - not so much. So will move today from this state park to the forest camp about 20 miles away. Our senior off season pass allows us to camp here in the state park Sun - Thurs for $10/night. Fri/Sat it goes up to $40. Now you know why we are moving. The Canyon is $4.

Supper tonight will Probably be a one-pot dish if rice-a-Roni, canned chicken, and a veggie. Probably broccoli chopped small. And garlic bread. Served alongside the Yakima River. Bliss!

Tomorrow night , after traveling home, we will probably just pop a frozen lasagna into the oven. And there is always salad.

Happy supper!

Good morning! I was out feeding the calves in rain and came back in soaked from rain and from wet calves shoving and pushing around me. We had two new calves born last night; I think we are up to 17 babies now. I love taking care of the calves, but I’ve decided one at a time is MUCH easier than two at a time, and I don’t have enough arms for three although I’m sure I could adapt. Healthy and not needing me is by far the best for the babies!

Yesterday both of the calves were out for awhile. Pocket Lint had fun racing around and kicking up her heels. Blackie moved at a much slower pace, but I’m so glad she got some exercise. She followed Lint out to the watermelon patch area as they explored their surroundings.

Mary—Happy birthday to Riley! That’s quite a kitty milestone! I think we all knew where we were on 9/11 and the day President Kennedy was shot. Well, some of the younger ones weren’t even born when President Kennedy died… Your parks passes have great prices!

Becca—so happy for the good news about Gabriel!!! Know your family is all so happy and grateful.

Tina—that is good news for you! Whew!!! I had childbirth with no pain meds… You are a storng woman! I’m sure you are worn out from your ordeal and pain—hope you feel much better! Poor Frankie! I know he’s miserable. I take Benadryl when I have itch problems.

Irish—hope things are quiet for you. You need some easy days!

We had a fun time out to dinner with the grands, so tonight will be leftover beef tips. I think I’ll make rice and broccoli for sides and some salad.

Bon appétit!

Chickie, I think if you had one more calf, Doyle would invent a milk bar for the babies where you could put the bottles/buckets in a row and spaced buy wooden spacers of some sort. He is a clever guy!

Just wanted to tell y'all that this morning Bill called elder protective services and opened a case history on Vicki'. We let the kids know ahead of time that we were doing this and they are fine with it. As Irish said, they are probably relieved. Now a caseworker will talk to the kids, then visit Vicky, and then let us know how that all went. Cross your fingers. They also suggested a police report might be helpful and I think we will do that too. But not until after we get home which won't be until tomorrow afternoon. Hate doing this and we hoped things would get better. But from the photos of our house that are being sent to us by our grandson, we are going from bad to worse. So we finally did it. 😞

Hi y'all!

Almost dinnertime here, since the tacos last night got preempted, they will appear tonight.

I finally got a 31 year old UFO loaded on my LA. It's a sampler from a class i did when Daniel was in kindergarten. I knew i had it here in Utah after we moved, saw it many times, but when i went to load it, it has disappeared! Looked all over the Batt Cave and finally found the top hidden in a drawer down by my sewing area and the back in a drawer over in the LA area. Sheesh! Well now it is loaded andvi just need to thread the machine and wind several bobbins. I will quilt it tomorrow.

Becca - so happy for your family! Those twins are beautiful!

Tina - as my Grandmother would say, this too will pass, glad that it did!

Chickie - thanks for the cow answers. I like to still learn things out in this world.

Mary - enjoy your last night out. I am happy to see that Bill has taken the starting steps to get Vicki the help she so desperately needs, even though she doesn't think that way. Praying things are not too bad when you get back home.

Irish - miss you and you are in my prayers!

Enjoy,
Jana
