Daily devotion april 17

Psalm 40

This Psalm is a graphic portrayal of what the Lord does for us. Picture the contrast of struggling to move in a slimy, muddy pit with walking on a solid rock. It is the difference between growing in the guilt of sin and failures, discouraged, haveing lost heart -- and experiencing ta sense of victory in which there is a song in our hearts.

The situation is one in chich we often find ourselves. Iniquities have overtaken us; not only are we not capable of living righteously; we are no longer even able to see and discern what is right. We have lost heart because others seek our hurt.

But in this situation the Lord hears our cry; He lifts us up and restores us to a firm foundation. He puts a song in our hearts Evidence of being out of fellowship with the Lord and away from his will is when there is no longer a song of praise going through our minds!

It is awesome to realize that God actually thinks about us. When we are going through times of despair, we usually forget the wonders He has done for us. He does not withhold compassion from us, but His mercies preserve us, for He is our help and our deliverer.

Have you reached out for the Lord lately?

Hugs prayers and God bless
