It's not actually raining at this particular moment in time. hooray! We'll see what it's doing by the end of my post. Sigh. Today we're off to Costco and the grocery store. I never have to go to Costco alone. Bill considers it entertainment and often 'lunch' with all the samples they give out. So while we're out, we swing by the regular grocery, as well, and so I have my own carry-out helper! and he's experienced, too. He was a box boy when he was a kid. I guess it takes him back . . .
SHIRLEY MAE, nice to have you join us! All that BBQ sounds like a great perk of Rod's trade! yum! Hope his new glasses work out for him.
TINA - Sounds like your anniversary week is going well! Did you wash your quilt or just put it on the line to air? I can't fit our king-size into our washer so it means a trip to Tacoma to a laundromat and add the $5 bridge toll to the cost. so it doesn't get washed too often! Let's work a deal - I'll send you some of my rain if you send me some of your warm. Deal?
BECCA - you were a white tornado yesterday with all those chores you got done! I did nothing. I didn't even write out my grocery lists. But I did take a 20-minute nap.

CHICKIE - How's things at your house? I know you're having a big family Easter brunch. How many folks do you expect? And what's on the menu? Going to have an adult egg hunt?
IRISH - you know you worry us if you don't sit down at the table for several days in a row. Don't make me come back there! Wait! I take that back! I'd love to come back there! All I need is time and $$. Sigh. Hope things are OK . . .
JANA - how's the pantry coming along? when you restock like this, do you just go to Costco for most things? My nephew, who always has to be innovative with unusual projects, made a big storage area in the 'attic' of his house and he has enough paper products up there for 3 years. And he says it's extra insulation, too!
Dinner did morph a little bit last night. Same menu - chicken, potatoes, carrots - but I browned the chicken and then layered it all into the crockpot with a bit of celery for flavor. Added some broth and a splash of white wine and enjoyed the aroma all day long. It was so good! and there's enough left for another meal! So no cooking tonite, but I'll have a lot of veggie cleaning and camp meal prep work to do. And I'll probably bake a cake and put it in the freezer to take along. I like to put on my audio book and 'read' when I have a lot of work in the kitchen (or anywhere for that matter). Kind of puts me in the 'zone'.
What's the story at your house for tonite?
