SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, April 9th
Good morning!
37* out there this morning! brrrr!! It should warm up to mid-50's. Maybe. and only 10% chance of rain. Good deal!! I might go back outside this afternoon and do some more yard work. But until then, we're putting a quilt on the LA and I'll work on that until the sun warms comes out and warms things up a bit. Hope to finish this project up by tomorrow.
VELDA - YOU were shocked to find F--h in my freezer?!?! How do you think I felt?? But not to worry - it's gone now! Bill took a picture of it and sent it to Terry and said 'THANKS!!' lol! Happy travels today!
BECCA - I see Annistyn has come home! Hooray! Gabriel won't be far behind. Aren't they about 3 weeks old now? And you are right - if Vicki's kids don't do anything about all her stuff by end of today, we will. They live and work in Seattle, at least an hour away so getting here after work during the week just wasn't do-able for them and it wasn't an emergency. They almost always come by on Sundays. Tuesday is predicted to be dry and we'll want to mow, so we'll move everything over then and mow down the property line. Maybe when she sees a visual line she'll "get in line" with it. But probably she'll just move it back. And when we try to take our trailer out on Saturday, we'll just move it all again. I am a little worried though. Kenderosa Sue and her hubby are coming to visit May 12-14 and will be parking their trailer on our parking pad where they've stayed a few times before. I hope Vicki doesn't flip out! We are keeping Sue updated.
CHICKIE - I know you have been uber-busy with calf and hooligan duty. Did Doyal make it home OK?
TINA - I imagine weekends are full to the brim at your house!
IRISH - another day closer to Terry coming home!! For good!!
JANA - Thought of you and Michael last night when a local TV show featured a unique B&B in Sequim, WA (pronounced Squimm). Antique RR cars parked spoke fashion and each car is a room decorated with a different theme. And then a dining car is a charming restaurant.
As for our supper - I have some thawed chicken in the fridge so I think I'll make chicken stroganoff tonite. We haven't had that in quite a while.

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, April 9th
Good afternoon! Today is laundry day, and we checked cows and hunted mushrooms. We have two new calves—up to 15 now! We found zero mushrooms. I only have a couple of minutes… calf feeding time!
DH only lasted a little over 24 hours with his family before he was ready to come home to peace and quiet and control of the TV remote! I was surprised and not surprised to have him back so early. The cake was a hit. SIL and her family came by on their way back to Wichita so the little one could pet and help feed the calves. He said it was the best part of his trip.
While DH was gone, I got little done other than calf and dog sitting and lunch with Mom yesterday. So much for all my “free time” plans!
Dinner tonight… steak for DH. Corn, asparagus (courtesy of neighbors fresh picked from their garden!), baked sweet potato and steak for DH. I think I’ll have nothing but piles of veggies. There’s a piece of cake for afters.
Note—There used to be the most delightful kitchen shop in a caboose and tea room in dining car near where I worked. It was out in the country. The husband had a business, and he needed his wife to stay home and answer the phones. He bribed her with the caboose and dining car set up in their yard so she could have her own business. We just loved going over there for lunch and shopping for fun toys for home and giving. I can totally see a long arm machine set up in a dining car or caboose! Wouldn’t that make a fabulous sewing studio!
Bon appétit!

Good afternoon!
Y'all know us well! One of Michael's dreams was to have a real live caboose in our backyard- here or Concord. He still looks at them. I may end up with a railroad signal, that is more doable. It would be operational as well. Up in Northern California are a couple of b&b's that are cabooses you sleep in.
I didn't make it shopping yesterday, so will go tomorrow. We have plenty to eat around here, just need to see what strikes my fancy.
Matt and Crenda are leaving for a trip to upper state New York for the week. Their kids are all off to other family for that time. Gracie is doing better. We have learned that she was a very sick little girl.
Time to head to the Batt Cave for a few,
Enjoy,
Jana
Forgot - we got snow! About 4 inches of the heavy wet stuff, but the roads stayed clear and most of it has melted off now.
