SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Feb 21st

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Feb 21, 2017 1:35 am

Good Morning,

I'm up early today. Kids love it because they get breakfast early. They don't realize that it will be that much longer now until supper. Actually, the cats only get a treat - a spoonful of canned food. They have dry all day long, every day. But Scottie has to wait 12 hours for his next meal. Poor dog.

I got a few quilt backs pieced yesterday and a couple of the tops I put together ready for quilting. Also made cookies and helped Bill with a manly project outside - trying to alter the fit of the fifth-wheel hitch. The new trailer rides with its nose up a bit and it should be level. But it's a bugger of a project.

Today - a bit of grocery shopping, a bit of laundry, and a bit of sewing. And whatever else the day brings.

TINA - It's the State Patrol (DMV) that deals with licensing so they are the ones you would need to talk to, not the town police. They should be able to give you guidance. And I'd be so angry at the doctor. I would write a serious letter to him asking if he wants to play a part in a possible similar scenario or is he trying to drum up more business? And he must have a boss you could cc. His disinterest in your mom is disturbing. I'm so sorry she is treating you so badly. What was your dad's response to your complaints about your mom? I hope you are able to stick to your guns and let her be for now. You deserve so much better!

BECCA - good luck at the oral surgeon today. We'll be waiting to hear what they tell you.

JANA - You're not sick again! It's that under 10 crowd you hang out with! Hope you recover quickly! Though with colds, they seem pretty standard - 3 days coming, 3 days here, and 3 days going.

IRISH - As long as Jim feels like he's accomplishing something, it sounds like life stays on an even keel for you. and awesome news about Mr and Mrs Eagle! They are fast workers! Too bad they aren't the ones in charge of Jana's kids' house!!

CHICKIE - what nice weather you're having. I'd like to enjoy the sunshine, too. I took Crazy Scottie out for a long walk this morning. Left the car in the park'n'ride and we walked a mile on the bike/hike trail to the shopping center to mail my SIL's birthday card and then the mile back.. It was 42 degrees and steady rain. Ugh! I think I melted a little.

Tonite's supper - maybe some frozen flautas from Costco. They've been in the freezer waiting for us since Texas. Time to dig them out, I think. And I've got some guacamole to have with them, plus salad. Not too much trouble.

What are you having tonite?

Good morning from another gorgeous, sunny (so far) warm, Sw. Pa...I think it's to get cloudy but this mornings sun rise was unbelievable...Hopefully no one saw me hanging over the porch railing in my fancy PJs, trying to take pictures..(and when I say fancy, they're green and red with raindeer all over them)..Yep, I know, I'm just a bit behind in my seasons....

Mary, Our fur babies, at least the inside kids don't get excited about breakfast..But, poor Jake (who always has a big bed time snack) is waiting by the door and as soon as I open the inside door, he has his paws up on the door and looking in...He is one big spoiled feral, big time..3 cans of food plus anything else I can shovel into him,(should call him Mikie) plus he has a heated bed on cold nights and me to love him....
I think my day might be a little like your's...Have "redded" up the house but do want to run the vacuum upstairs..But, I'm staying downstairs until after the UPS man stops by...I sure don't want to miss him again today, lol..We do have our financial guy stopping by and he's going to find us a better rates (lots of luck) But, he's a very good friend and it's always fun to see him, whether we talk business or not....After he leaves, we might go for haircuts...Both Jim and I need them desperately. And guess who hasn't shaved for over a week...He's going for the hippie look. Told the kids, 1st time in his life, he's had a scruffy beard and probably the last time, lol....

Jana, hope you're feeling better today...I think Mary might be right as to might have given you the "nasties"...But, doing so much good, what's a little discomfort, right? (I can say that, it's not me that's feeling poorly)...But, sure do hope you get rid of it quickly, too many people depend on you and need you well...

Chickie, I'm thinking we should be thanking you for this weather and I for one, really do appreciate it...If by chance, it does turn cold, feel free to send it some where else....How's that little baby doing? There are times when I kind of wish I still lived on the farm but then I think of those chickens and boy, I'm glad Jim took me off the farm and into the "big city" as he calls it..

Becca, you know we'll be thinking of you and praying everything goes well...And for sure, hoping they find the problem...Hang in there, girl friend....

Tina, hope you were able to get some rest...With your house nice and clean, you deserve to sit with your feet up and relax...But, if you'd like to come this way, mine needs a good going over, lol....Did you have your "quilt show" yesterday? You know, we'd love to see pictures of your quilts.....

Our burgers last night were fantastic...That 1st one of the year is always special...I'm thinking tonight, I'll use the extra ground meat and make a meat loaf...Maybe put some potatoes in to bake and also have a veggie, to be named....AND I have an apple pie almost ready to come out of the oven, so we're covered for afters......

Happy eating..............

Good Morning Everyone!
As promised here are some photos. The first two are quilts for the show, the second two are for charity. The CASA is the charity and the quilts are given with a book. The kids in foster care have their own blanket and a book to read.

Tonight is the guild meeting so I will fix pasta and meatsauce, garlic toast and a salad. I may need to leave prior to DH getting home and it is easy to leave for him.

Have a great day everyone!

Hello everyone,Been abusy day .
Maryz The Oral Surgeon doesn't have the answer either.?I took a Tylenol before going.Kept debating whether to or not.Bec I knew I couldn't stand for him to touch my mouth if I didn't.He has to see me when the tooth is hurting. He is going to do a block to determine if the tooth is the problem. He thinks it isn't.Said could be neuralgia which I had already thought of.Will go back next wk if it's hurting.Which I am sure it will be.

Carol Those quilts are so pretty.Must have been a great show.Lots of work.

Irish I always chuckle about the UPS guy.Our DGS that was in Army works there part time now.
Oh when I got Home DH had lost 2 important papers.I started hunting for them.Checked trash & there they were. The fun times we have. These mini strokes are taking a toll.

Jana Sure hope u feel better soon.

Chickie Guess the Holligans have you all tied up today.
Thank you for the prayers & thoughts.

DH wanted his Bacon.Made me a salad & heated a bowl of chili from freezer. Becca

Late Hello there!

Aaron is scrubbing the grill for this year's use. He disassembles the whole thing, cleans it and reassembles. For his hard work, he is grill some steaks, and i have baked taters, cauliflower with cheese sauce.

Just got back from the kids new house. It will be wonderful. We went to Lowes and tbey ordered their washer and dryer and also their refrigerator. Lowes will deliver after they have closed. Which is still about the 10th of March. This was the first time i have been in the house. Kate has been so disappointed over how long, it's good to see a smile as she showed around. We will probably pay for the appliances, but haven't told them, as we are letting them struggle to do what they want. A learning lesson, we hope. Trying not to make it too easy.

Well, time to finish cooking,
Enjoy,
Jana

I’m late, I’m late, I’m late…

This was a beautiful day! The hooligans and I walked down to Ava and took her on her leash with us to see Choc and Maggie. We were at least 70 today.

Irish—I think I’ll keep this weather a little longer and share with you. I laughed at your jammies… mine have Minnie Mouse on them. Last week the UPS driver had on his shorts—a different driver from the usual one. I also had a FEDEX woman driver this week—no shorts, but she threw doggy bones to the Hooligans, and they were so happy. I think I’m in love with your big kitty! …apple pie—yum!!!

Mary—I swell up and absorb rain when I’m out in it. I try to avoid it as much as possible.

Becca—so sorry about your DH’s memory. I have to admit I couldn’t remember what I was after today when I headed for the hall. Second trip was for paper towels (the original item, before I was interrupted by DH when he came in).

Jana—do hope the kids get in their home soon! I know it always takes longer than the estimated time, but this is getting deplorable. So sorry for them! So glad they are actually getting to realize their dream. You are wonderful to help them out!!!

Carol—I love all your quilts! The charity quilts have such a pretty pattern… love knots? Linked together? It’s a charming pattern.

Two of the cows were begging at the gate, so I got a can of range cubes (their treats) and started hand feeding them. Soon I was feeding five or six with a crowd pushing in. I went and got more treats and spilled them around to share. What fun “girls”! We checked out the calf, but the cow is very skittish and ran off with the calf bucking and galloping in front of her—quite a frisky little one! Very healthy.

Tonight we had taco salads. There’s plenty for re-runs tomorrow evening, too. I love not cooking. I know DH wishes I’d put more thought into it, but…

Maybe I can get around earlier tomorrow… Bon appétit!
