Psalm 6

God is good. He puts words of wisdom like bread crumbs for us to find our way back home. I have been suffering these past few days with total exhaustion. I only want to sleep. I wouldn't say I am depressed just weary. Then I open my bible today for my devotion and reading and this is what I read:

David rejoiced because of God's protection and peace. He encouraged others to trust in God. Godly people can place their confidence in God because he listens to them and puts joy in their hearts.

Weariness is tough. I don't mean the physical weariness that comes with mowing a lawn or the mental weariness that follows a hard day of decisions and thinking. No, the weariness that comes just before you give up. That feeling of honest desperation. It's the dispirited father, the abandoned child, or the retiree with time on his hands. It's that stage in life when motivation disappears; the children grow up, a job is lost, a wife dies. The result is weariness--deep, lonely, frustrated weariness.

Only one man in history has claimed to have an answer for it. He stands before all of us in this world with the same promise. "Come to me, all you who are weary...and I will give your rest" Matt. 11:28

Ask God for a new sense of joy and love. When tension mounts, pause to thank God for his love.

God speaks to us because he is walking with us each day. God knows what I am going through, he knows how tired I am, He knows how to heal me.

He also knows YOU; but do you know HIM?

God bless Hugs and Prayers

Izzy I was in the same place yesterday. With DHs health & lots of other things here I found myself in the same place too.And I did ask God to lift & restore me & to feel his presence. My day did get better.
God is always ready to heal & restore us.I praise him for what he does in my life.

May we all feel his presence today as we walk with him.
Prayers for your needs Izzy. Becca

Izzy, thank you for today's devotional. Our walks with the Lord are so precious each day. I so appreciate your bible verses and comments. Makes my day.

Sorry to hear that you are so weary. But I am not surprised. You are doing far more than any one human should try to do. You are being pulled in so many directions and feel each one needs top priority. You are a goat farmer, a mother to a very special DD, a wife to a minister, a loving and caring DD to your parents and lots of other things. Do not let your health get so far down, that you can help No ONE. I don't mean to scold, but at 70 I have had lots of experience in trying to do it all myself.

I had a heart attack at 58, no idea even had a heart problem back then. Drs said basically brought on by stress. Rod had had so many health problems, we were traveling, and so much to deal with. Sometimes when we don't listen to our bodies saying slow down and rest, God puts up a road block to make us rest. God knows best and HE will care for you.

Wish I lived closer to come and help. You are in my prayers that some of the burdens on you will be lifted. God bless you dear friend, love and hugs across the miles. Shirley Mae

I read this this morning and since then, a favorite hymn of mine has been singing in my head -

The Lord is my Light
1. The Lord is my light; then why should I fear?
By day and by night his presence is near.
He is my salvation from sorrow and sin;
This blessed assurance the Spirit doth bring.

(Chorus)
The Lord is my light;
He is my joy and my song.
By day and by night he leads,
He leads me along.

2. The Lord is my light; tho clouds may arise,
Faith, stronger than sight, looks up thru the skies
Where Jesus forever in glory doth reign.
Then how can I ever in darkness remain?

3. The Lord is my light; the Lord is my strength.
I know in his might I'll conquer at length.
My weakness in mercy he covers with pow'r,
And, walking by faith, I am blest ev'ry hour.

4. The Lord is my light, my all and in all.
There is in his sight no darkness at all.
He is my Redeemer, my Savior, and King.
With Saints and with angels his praises I'll sing.

Hugs!
Jana
