SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Feb 13th

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Feb 13, 2017 3:30 am

Good Morning!

JANA - Happy birthday to you and to your DS, Sarah! I know you're worried about Daniel and the dam situation in California, but I hope you are able to celebrate anyway and know we've got everything covered with prayer!

CHICKIE - good luck to your mom! I know she will be thrilled to have her quilt shown.

BECCA - Your butter beans sound so good! I think I might make beans myself today. Thanks for the idea.

IRISH - when my brother's Parkinson's got so bad that he couldn't even be left alone for an hour, their younger son (who lived with them for 43 years until he got a girlfriend to move in with) refused to come by their house even though he lived a mile away. And then he suddenly moved to Utah without even telling his parents he was going! they heard it from a friend of a friend of our massage therapist. Months later. He took all he could from them, and then when they needed help, he skipped. Just sayin', it's not just your family. And I suspect my nephew is far worse than your son.

VELDA - I so admire you for planning your menu and making your list a week ahead of time! how organized of you! Most days I'm sitting here, chatting away to all of you, stalling, because I can't come up with any ideas! No organization here.

We are so glad to be home and today will be spent doing laundry and emptying and cleaning the trailer. But we came home to an appalling situation with our neighbor that has us scrambling to figure out what to do with our trailer now. We are really upset. I poured it all out in Sew-in if you wish to read it. 32 years of good neighbor and strong friendship and we came home to an angry tirade and false accusations. This kept me awake most of the night, fretting. If any of you have a law degree, advice is welcome!

In the meantime, I really like Becca's idea of beans. I think I'll do that as well, adding onions, bacon, and sliced kielbasa.

Oh Mary, what a mess to come home to!!!!! I hope those nasty people never get her property. That would be the biggest nightmare of all. Who are these people? How did they know of her condition? What a mess. Can't believe the kids walked away, no matter how bad she got.

Today I have a luncheon to go to at our machine embroidery group. My friend, Darlene, won't be joining us because she came home from a cruise with the flu and terrible cough. She is in her early 80's and always so active, but this is really keeping her down.

Tonight's dinner is going to be tacos. Easy dinner. DH will do the chopping for me. I have that hand problem, lol

Carole with an e

Oh forgot to mention. DEAR JANE IS DONE!!!!!!!! At least the piecing is done. Now she gets in line for the quilting, WHOO HOO!!

Good morning!

Happy birthday Jana! I know you are really concerned for your CA family. So scary! Daniel is such a hero!

Mary—that’s just awful about Vicky. I hope there is an elder abuse hot line in your state. Something needs to be done. I wish I had a law degree. Still, that couple coming in definitely seems to be elder abuse if they have convinced her to drop her meds. She needs to be declared incompetent, but not by them. I can’t believe her kids walked away either. Scary the scam couple have her POA! I’d have to start with a hot line…

Carole—I just love your Luke stories! Hope your friend gets better… so not fun to get sick on vacation! Who-hoo!!! Congrats on the Dear Jane finish!!!

Beans sound good… not tonight. I have another steak for DH and some sides. I think I’ll do ravioli again for me. I had them with sautéed mushrooms last evening and toasted the raviolis with Brussels sprouts on the side.

Off to my sewing room to work on a comfort quilt… So many in need…

Bon appétit!

Good morning from a semi sunny, not too cold and NO WIND, SW. Pa....

This will be a quickie, I will be back and read all the posts but just can't write today....
Last night with all the wind, our eagle nest and tree were blown down. The mother had been incubating the egg and was able to fly away but of course the egg was lost..The really sad part, along with loosing the egg, is that she is due to lay the 2nd egg either today or tomorrow and now, no nest...But, eagles are survivors and we all know they will be back but today is just sad.....

Sorry to be just a downer but you know me and eagles......

Catch you all later............

Happy Birthday Jana
Tonight we are doing our Valentine's dinner. Steak and baked sweet Potato.
Hope all works out with the damn and floods.
I will make this short, headed to club house for crafts.
Maryz: wow, what a mess to come home to. I sure hope it all gets resolved quickly.

Thank you got the prayers and BD wishes. I have been watching the local Sacramento tv station with aerial coverage of the dam. The water has dropped and a news conference is scheduled for a couple of hours from now. Engineers are on the ground, looking first hand at the damage and making assessments. It appears as if those evacuated may be able to return today or tomorrow. Even with the danger slightly mitigated, I am sure Daniel is still busy as a cat on a hot tin roof.

We are heading out in a little while to go shopping and will have dinner at a very banned restaurant. The restaurant has their special festival going on.

Mary - oh what trouble at your House! I certainly hope you can notify authorities to help her. Glad you saw the powder before Scottie. A lawyer may be needed to protect you and Bill.

Caro,e - with e- Yeah! Jane is done! That is a accomplishment.

Chickie - yes, I need to get in gear and help as well with so many in need!

Irish - sad about the tree and egg - the bald Eagles here are flying through my area on their way back north - sitting out on my desk I have seen several in the last couple of days.

Vel- enjoy your Valentines Dinner!

Time to scoot,
Enjoy,
Jana

Hello,quick fli by.
Happy Birthday Jana & Sarah.Prayers for Daniel & all others to be safe.

Maryz I had a friend that had that happen after her DH died. They were keeping her drugged up too.Moved in her house. She finally wished up & got a lawyer .She tried to sue them but lawyer wouldn't take her case. Her DH paid off their mortgage & she knew nothing about it.Also remodeled their house.
It is a sad case you have beside you.Her children need to step in & take action.Sure hope it gets resolved & they get booted.

What a day but I won't get into that.No cooking here. Will be sandwiches,Salad for me.
Becca
