Supper club Sunday February 5

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Feb 05, 2017 2:58 am

Good morning!

I am typing on my phone this morning. We have not had Internet for four days now on the computer. My phone types goofy sometimes and I do try to proofread but sometimes Miss glaring errors. Please forgive. It's not my fault!

Irish, glad the interview went well. If Terry doesn't get this job, I am a firm believer that the right one will come along. So glad Jim came around and was able to enjoy the visit.

In reference to grandparents names I doubt anybody can top Gongo & Bongo! Bill and I laughed histerically Over that! But my kids called my parents Nana and papa. They called my in-laws Bummer and Papa. My mother-in-law did not like, that thinking I put the kids up to it. I was not her favorite person. After a year she suddenly decided she loved it! Go figure. To distinguish between the two papas they were called Nana's Papa, and Papa Oodoo, which was the closest they could come to our last name, Erdahl. I wonder what Bummer would have thought if they had called her Gongo! LOL! We are called Nonnie & Pop.

My sister-in-law, Terry, is supposed to join us here today. So I suppose it is just as well that we are not getting any TV here as she does not like football. We will enjoy a campfire tonight instead and catch up with her. And hope people will text us highlights of the game.

Supper will be chicken fajitas. And probably some rice and maybe refried beans.

What will your Super Bowl supper be?

HI There!

Mary - you need a digital TV antenna. You could possibly pick up a repeater station for free. It's on the Fox affiliate. But you probably won't miss much, not my favorite teams playing.

My house smells yummy - I have soup cooking from the turkey yesterday. Noodles tomorrow. Tonight will be turkey sandwiches.

Enjoy,
Jana

Good afternoon from a very sunny, cool, (low 40s), Sw. Pa....We even had nice blue skies, so been looking up, quite a bit (in 1 way or another)....

Mary, I love to read about the names the kids come up with...We are just Grammy and PapPap, so original... You would laugh at me trying to figure out how to talk into the tablet and then just giving up and typing...And then the kids are trying to talk me into a new smart phone, that's the funniest thing ever...I just ordered a new battery for my "dumb" phone and if that doesn't work, maybe, I'll go modern....Hey, sometimes, it's a blessing to have no TV....

Becca, I imagine your weather is much like our's, but we are having sun, which means a lot.....Your DH does like his sweets, doesn't he? I kind of miss that around here, but it's better for my hips, no to be baking too much....

Jana, soup is great any time and I'll bet your's is delish! How's the weather in your neck of the woods? I did talk to Kathy and her DH made it back over Donner Pass yesterday..He had gone into California to help 1 of his kids move and said, if he didn't get home yesterday, he'd have to wait for the next storm to pass and see her on Wed. Oh well, spring will be along one of these days, right?

So far today has been a very lazy day....The last 2 nights, Jim has decided, he doesn't like to sleep in bed...Not sure why but if he does come to bed, he'll only stay about an hour and then sits in his recliner..Last night, we were up until 3:00 and I fell asleep and found him in his chair this morning...I'm thinking maybe he doesn't like the darkness because he'll have all the lights on downstairs when I come down...I tried to get him to go to bed this morning but he's still in his chair....I'm going to talk him into going for a ride, pick up a few things and then get gas...Hopefully, that might cheer him up.....
I had been watching the "Kitty Bowl" and loving every one of the kittens....Would love to have a couple kittens in the house but the 2 princesses would be upset.....We have a new pet store, similar to PetSmart and I've been wanting to stop in but afraid, lol..... We will be watching the Super bowl and hoping for a Falcon win...Cari new hubby is a big fan......Other than that, maybe I'll do some sewing....

Not sure what our dinner might be...Soup and sandwich sounds pretty darn good but we'll see....Who know, when and if we go somewhere, maybe the car will decide our dinner...I can only hope!

You all have a great day.....

Happy eating..............
