Supper club -Saturday, feb 4th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Feb 04, 2017 2:21 am

Good morning!

We had a relaxing afternoon yesterday. Sat outside and read most of the time. Foxy let himself out and took many rolling dust baths. He loved being free. Friends who park in front of us at our rv rally every year are here in town and found us out here on the desert. Which is an amazing feat as this is a 5- mile stretch south if I-10 and there are about 300 rv's parked over the desert. ( it is BLM land). The friends told us there is a quilt show in town this weekend. Guess where we're going this morning!

My brother, AL, emailed me that they had to have their bichon-mix fur baby put down yesterday. Her back end quit working. The vet couldn't figure out why. Then after several months it progressed to her front end and she was in obvious pain. He has two other little dogs but you still always love them all.

Irish, please say the interview went well and Terry will soon be HOME! And did jim know him?

Diane- welcome! Happy belated birthday! Sorry I missed it on The Day. When we travel it's hard to keep up and we've been on the road since Jan 28. Hope it was a great bd! I almost missed my DD's bd yesterday but turns out she's on the road too. They drove to Seaside OR for the night. In her new car! And stayed in same hotel my son and DIL stayed in last week! Unknowingly.

Jana I believe you and Sarah celebrate feb 13, right?

Becca, hope you have a good day at your house

As for supper- again no idea. We do have half pizza left from last night. I got a little burnt because that's when our friends stopped by to visit.

Diane Hope your Birthday was super special.

Jana Glad to see Stus hand is doing well. And prospects for a job are looking bright.

Chickie I think of you every time I clean my floors which was Thursday.

Dinner tonight will be whatever DH figures out. I am busy today so no time to cook. He usually does the cooking anyway. DGS is always impressed when "G-ma" cooks. That is what he started calling us when he was younger, G-ma and G-pa. Now his siblings call us that also.

Good morning!

Somehow I got another turkey, so that will pop in the oven for a turkey dinner tonight.

Mary - sad when we lose loved pets. Enjoy the weather - it is stormy up north and heading you me - at least it is Rain!

Becca - prayers for that darn tooth!

Valerie- funny how our grandkids come up with nicknames for us - my kids called my mom, Dommy.

Enjoy!
Jana

Good afternoon from sunny but again cold, SW. Pa...But, that's OK, we're warm inside.....

Mary, see how you are, people will find you no matter where you are.....Sorry to hear about DB's fur baby, it's always hard when the time comes...Don't you worry about your cats when they are out while you're camping? I think I'd be a nervous wreck..Baby Girl goes out on the patio and I panic....AND Terry's interview went very well but they told him, they think he's over qualified and he might not stay with them if he got the job....He did tell them, he's not worried about the title, if he likes what he's doing and gets a decent wage, he's happy.....I just keep saying, the right thing will come along, maybe this one, maybe the next....

Oh Becca, you've really had some bad days, with your tooth and your DH..It's best for you to be in charge of meds, I found that out, myself...I keep our meds in one of those little daily containers and awhile back, Jim took the whole week's worth...Thank goodness it was mostly vitamins but it did mess up his stomach for a day....Yesterday's visit was good...At first, Jim didn't know Terry but after awhile, was so glad to see him......Hope things are much, much better in your household.....

Jana, I too like to hear the different things the kids call grandmas....Our oldest DS used to call Jim's Mom "Budder", not sure why other than she loved butter....And then when I started having grandkids, they called her "old grandma" and me "new grandma" which she didn't like too much...But, whatever they call you, you'll remember it forever..........

Today is finish some uglies and a little Whirlpool Waltz...I hadn't planned on stripping the bed today but, when I went upstairs to go to bed, Jim had taken all the blankets and the top sheet off the bed and then wouldn't get up for me to fix it, so I slept in the other room...Not sure why he did what he did but maybe he thought he was helping.....
I so enjoyed my visit with Terry yesterday...He got rid of the old micro wave and then we just sat and talked and of course I made him lunch....Loved every minute of it.....

For our dinner, we'll be having left over roast/potatoes/carrots...I'm also thinking maybe some cinnamon rolls for after................

Happy eating..............

Good Morning Everyone!
I picked up my quilt from the quilter yesterday and put the binding on last night after basting in the sleeve and label. It was a lot of work, but allowed me to sew the first 20 inches of the 360 inches this morning. I wish I could finish 90 inches today, but I want to go to knitting class this afternoon. I need a little help with the sweater.

Mary - Amazing that your friends found you! Did they use a gps tracker? So sad to hear about your DB dog. I know it makes you sad.

Irish - Glad the interview went well. Sometimes the climate of the Company isn't great when the interviewer has that attitude, so you are so right if not this one, the next one.

Becca - So sorry your tooth is stil a problem. Maybe you should try another dentist???

Chickie - I cleaned my white tile kitchen floor yesterday. It was a mess!!

WeSig - I think I kept a copy of an old Ann Landers column where a reader wrote in that her in-laws wanted to be called something like Grandpere and Grandmere, the child called them Gongo and Bongo. I laugh everytime I think of it.

Jana - Enjoy your turkey dinner. Will you make all the trimmings?

Tonight will be my Fast Hash with Green Beans, Salad and garlic toast.

Well, here I am late again. I had my post all typed and the silly WiFi here at the park went poof!!! And my message was gone!

I spent the whole day sewing on my quilt and finished it. I posted pictures over in Photos, if anyone is interested.

We have a chance to go dancing again tonight. DH and I are learning some new couples dancing (called trail dancing) couples follow around in a huge circle around the outside of the dance floor.

We aren't confident enough yet to do these at any dancing, we are practicing a little each day. Maybe next week we will get brave enough to try them???

Well, better run and get my dinner on the table. Smoked brats, pork n beans, chips and applesauce.

I am trying to read and catch up, but it's hard to do it when you are in a hurry. Maybe tomorrow I can get on here earlier and chat with you all.

HUGS, 💕 Vel
