SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Dec 1
Good Morning!
Still here! But not for long. Decided to pop in for one last meal. Yesterday TINA texted me that her mom was taken to the ER and diagnosis is pneumonia in one lung. She thought mom would be admitted but wasn't sure when last I talked to her.
BECCA - I will be gone for a few weeks, but I won't be forgetting to pray for Lorenza. And what's the story on your fires? Are they under control yet?
JANA - poor Kate! Food poisoning is pretty awful! Had it a few times myself. Great news about Stu! So does he have to go back now to his mission duties or can he spend the holidays with you first?
CAROL - OK - special dispensation for while I'm on the road for "mac & Cheese". No smacks for you. But this is only temporary!! And what surgery? Did I miss something?
IRISH - Oh, if I'm going to motivate you to do something, please don't let it be uglies!! Sewing! That's what we want here. Or just feet up and reading a good mystery. Let's do that instead. I always say clean windows are overrated. I can just see out them more easily to view the yard work I should be doing! But don't get to. haha! And yes, you can have a special dispensation, too. and those eagles are confusing us! So, since it hasn't been kept warm do you think that egg will be viable?
TINA - How is your mom this morning? Will see you in about a week!
CHICKIE - I know you're busy today so how about I plan for you to go out tonite? You want a dispensation, too?
Tonite we plan to be at Milepost 99 in southern Oregon right off I-5. We always stay at Seven Feathers Casino where they have a freebie parking lot for RV's And Bill always wants to eat in their restaurant. Works for me! That is about 350 miles. A long day, but we're getting an early start. He will probably have chicken fried steak. I will probably have chicken or soup/salad. Tomorrow will be leftover pasta. Love having leftovers when on the road. I prefer not to have to cook after a long day in the saddle.
Dispensations for everybody for all of December! My Christmas gift to you all! I will check in when I can.
MZ

Hello everyone, sunny here.Taking a break bec DGD Sawyer,Tallulah & sweet little Wren are coming for the day. What a treat.I get a break from Uglies & decorating.Only Have tree left.
Maryz Thank you for praying for Lorenza.Alton said they are pumping him full of steroids so he has had a little reprieve.Even told him he can go home but that entails a whole new game plan.Dont know if they can get it worked out.
The fires are contained but still burning. They will burn themselves out.Gatlinburg I don't know the statis on theirs. That is really the sad part.Dolly Parton is giving each family that lost their homes a 1000.00 a month for some
Jana What great news about Stu.So thankful he is ok.
Irish I don't rush like I did. Some days but not always.Used to be like Izzy but slowed down.Enjoy your day.
Carol I too wondered about the surgery.Hope all is well.
Chickie Know you're up to something. So happy for you that life on the farm is good.
With Beth's little ones here I'll have the real Mac n cheese chicken tenders.Ice cream for treat.Salad for those who want it. Becca

Hi Everyone!
The surgery is to remove the stent from the right kidney to the bladder to allow the kidney to heal from the infection.
Irish - I loved that there were eagles on the back of Jim's quilt. You are definitely the eagle lady! I so enjoy hearing about the eagles.
Becca - Glad to hear the fires are contained. I always thought Dolly Parton was a very special person. She is being very generous. The stories on TV about the man who can't find his wife and 12 & 9 yo daughters is heartbreaking!
Maryz - Thanks for the dispensation. I need the lean protein and will be enjoying it often.
Jana - That was great news about Stu.
Tina - Guess you are looking forward to Maryz and Bill's visit!
Tonight will be last night's dinner because DH was very late getting home.
Have a Great Day!
Carol

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Dec 1
Good early afternoon from a cold, dreary, damp, SW. Pa....What a change in the temp but this is now Dec. so it was bound to happen......I do regret not getting the rest of the decorations out while it was still warm but, I've always thought, there's something about freezing fingers and runny noses while trying to get the porch lights put up...Heaven forbid I should do it differently....
Mary, by now, you're probably half way to your stopping place...AND I did take your advice on the sewing part....Went upstairs to at least make the bed but there was a huge mound of sleeping fur baby in the middle so that bed is still waiting...So, as long as I'm near the sewing machine, I knocked out a couple more blocks for this super hero quilt (that might get done, lol)....Other than that, that's been my day so far and I have enjoyed it, thank you very much.....
Becca, so glad to hear the fires are contained...Hopefully you all can get back to being able to breathe a little better...Isn't it great to have those little ones visit...Nothing better than Gramma's house for hugs and kisses.....And for sure I don't rush any more...I seem to go ion spurts and those spurts are shutting down rapidly, lol...Dolly Parton really is a special person, very generous.....Enjoy your visit......
Carol, I imagine you'll be happy to get this surgery over....My sister had to have that stent put in twice and said it was nothing to laugh about, very painful....Hoping and praying all goes well and those kidneys behave and heal.....Here's a good one, as long as I've been an eagle lover, I've never seen one in person...We have a nest fairly close but it's really hard to "catch them at home"...And as many times as I was in Florida, didn't really know where that nest was until the last trip down and the eagles had already left their nest....One of these days, I am determined!
As for our dinner, last night was the soup, tonight might be the scrambler...But, with taking care of Dan's fur kids, when we leave, you just never know where the car might go.....
But, sometime this afternoon, I'm going to try to make some zucchini bread, if it doesn't get in the way of my sewing......
Happy eating.................
Just wanted to add....When eagles do lay their eggs, they sometimes delay incubating that 1st egg until the 2nd is laid...This helps them hatch closer together and hopefully eliminate the "food fights" between the eaglets...Usually the last hatched has a harder time surviving...It's terrible to see them peck at each other but this is nature and sometimes nature isn't too pretty....But, the will to survive is very strong and most times, that youngest will find ways and tricks to get fed.......You will find, if a nest is close to a food source, the less fighting but when it's harder for the parents to find food, that's where you'll find the ugliness.....

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Dec 1
Who-hoo!!! A dispensation! Surf without guilt!!! Yippie-yi-ya!!! I think that will happen tomorrow. Tonight is dinner out with friends. But my freezer stands stocked with so many Florida goodies!
I got busy and forgot to make it to the table yesterday. The Hooligans and I made our doggy rounds, went to the bank, to the store for provisions (and treats), then on to Mom’s. Each stop they received a treat. Yes, they are definitely spoiled rotten!
Today, DH arrived from coffee and the post office. He had several boxes and left my truck door open while he brought some inside. The Hooligans jumped in the open, inviting door. There they waited. He couldn’t get them out. I went out with a treat… it didn’t work. Tinker Bell was firmly planted in her jump seat and was ready for a ride. I took them down the road, made a circle and came back. There she stayed when we returned. She’s still out there two hours later… waiting to go for a “real” trip. In a few minutes, she will get her wish, we are going to see Ava, then over to DS3”s to see Choc and Maggie. These dogs adopted me and own me… I guess by now you have realized that.
Dinner last night was a slab of smoked BBQ ribs from the little meat market in town, creamed asparagus, steamed cauliflower, and baked sweet potato. It was quite a colorful meal. I didn’t have time to make a salad before the big native got restless.
MaryZ—have safe travels! Sounds like you have your dinner out planned as well. Enjoy!
Tina—best wishes to you and your family as your mom goes through her latest round of hospitalization. I know your dad has his hands full, as do you! HUGS!!!
Carol—who’s having the surgery??? Best wishes for complete healing with no difficulties!
Becca—so glad the fires are contained! That’s a big step! I heard about the generous offer from Dolly Parton; how wonderful for those families! As someone who lost everything but the pajamas they were wearing in a fire, I totally can empathize with those families. I heard someone talking about their family pictures and felt their sadness… my mom’s baby picture in the big oval frame with the bubble glass… sigh! We were so fortunate that the Knights of Columbus gave us a Wal-Mart card for $500 to get clothes and toiletries, as our credit cards and cash along with medications and driver licenses had all perished. The pharmacy we’d used for years refused to give us a day’s worth of pills on credit, so I changed pharmacies immediately. It made me mad that the pharmacy would charge us for a month of pills even if they didn’t have them in stock and shorted us 15 or sometimes 20 pills, yet he couldn’t give us three or four pills. What kind of customer service in a tragedy was that? Other than him, other businesses were understanding of our predicament. It happened over MLK holiday when banks were closed and we couldn’t get funds until the bank opened. I sincerely hope that local businesses that were spared from the fires will be understanding to the victims and help them with what they need.
Guess I better get the dogs visited, then I can get into my sewing room. I can’t believe this is DECEMBER 1!!! YIKES!!!
Bon appétit!
