Good morning ladies we start into a busy week with the festivities of Thanksgiving. I will be in the kitchen for the most part of wed evening and all morning on Thursday preparing yummies.

But, let us not lose sight of where this Holiday started. The first Thanksgiving was held in the autumn of 1621 and included 50 Pilgrims and 90 Wampanoag Indians and lasted three days. ...
Thanksgiving didn't become a national holiday until over 200 years later! The meal consisted of deer, corn, shellfish, and roasted meat, far from today's traditional Thanksgiving feast.

Although prayers and thanks were probably offered at the 1621 harvest gathering, the first recorded religious Thanksgiving Day in Plymouth happened two years later in 1623. On this occasion, the colonists gave thanks to God for rain after a two-month drought.

Just a lil history lesson for you:) I hope you can sing Thanks to the Lord these next few days. Get out your list of things you wrote down that you were thankful for. Go over them and Sing praises to the LORD!

God Bless Hugs and Prayers

The first pilgrims suffered much persecution for their religious beliefs in Europe. Travelling here to this promised land, seeking to live their religion, they were indeed grateful to God for their blessings. One blessing being the Indians that taught them how to live in this land and prosper.

We too are grateful to those ancestors for what we have. We are a blest nation. The religious freedom we have is truly a blessing to count and be grateful for. Our Heavenly Father does hear and annswer our prayers. He has so much to bless us with, if we simply follow Him, as He asks.
