SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Nov 20th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Nov 20, 2016 2:29 am

Good morning!

It's rainy again! So maybe no wood-splitting again today. It will mean more days AFTER thanksgiving, but that's OK. Pressure will be off us by then. We want to leave for TX by Nov 30,but that's an arbitrary date. We can go a few days later if necessary.

IRISH - I am so rooting for Terry to get his job in PA. And it's only 6 months until Nick graduates, right? We can work this out! I am so hoping we can also manage to get you to Ireland. We always called 'clean the fridge night' "Open Galley Night".

BECCA - you have so much going on in your life it must wear you out simply praying for it all. Let me help you with that. ;o)

JANA - yay! Stu's home! And with balloons to celebrate! We will be doing three birthdays on Thanksgiving. We will be getting an ice cream cake, I think. We've met a lot of planes the last month and every single one of them has arrived early. What's going on here? Can't depend on that extra 10 minutes to get to the airport any more!

MARY Q - at our house you NEVER have to figure out what's for breakfast. At least not for my Bill. He eats Cheerios every single morning of his life. for years. and his cholesterol is quite low. They are oats, you know, and oats are good for cholesterol. I just can't handle ANYTHING every day, day in, day out. and my cholesterol isn't low, I might add.

VELDA - yes, we're headed for Texas after all. We may be staying at an RV park in Georgetown this time. At least for a month. I prefer the setting of the Corps park - a beautiful wooded campsite on the lake - but our friends are hosts at a day-use county park near the RV park we are considering. They suggested we stay there and it's cheaper and has sewer hook-ups. Not sure where we'll end up. Bill left message for the park but as far as I know no one has called him back.

CHICKIE - Boomer sure knows how to 'help'. and he's all about the 'payday', I see! haha!!

In a while I'll get a big pot of chili going in the crockpot. and later tonite will fix cornbread. It's a chili kind of day. I'll even put in my fresh/frozen Hatch chilies I've been hoarding. Time to start cleaning the freezer. Can't take it all with us.

What's the story in your kitchen?

Good morning,

I figured out dinner yesterday! I saw a leg of lamb at Costco, so that will be roasted and I will do browned rice, gravy, rolls and a fresh veggie. Afters is BD cake.

Mary - enjoy the game and a cold one! I am rooting for any team that will beat my Niners. That way we xan draft a good quarterback and dump the obnoxious one! I love cheerios too.

Becca - glad the cold front came through and cleared out the smoke. Those firefighters are heroes! You can see the hand of God in answer to prayers in stories of homes and lives saved. What blesdings!

Enjoy,
Jana

Good afternoon from a cold, windy, snowy, SW. Pa...Yep, we got a coating but if I had my way, that would be it and it's time for Spring! Do you get the feeling I'm not a happy camper when it comes to winter weather????

Mary, I think I'm glad you're getting the rain, that means, MAYBE you'll get some rest today....With all you've been doing, by the time your caravan pulls out of the driveway, you'll really need to get away......You know, I'm turning green just thinking about it, lol.....Oh my, I sure do appreciate everyone rooting for Terry and the next chapter of their lives....It will be a blessing to have them close to home...

Becca, what's up with the gout???? My heavens, what's next? I remember my DFIL having it and how painful it was and felt so sorry for him....We did laugh because Jim's Mom always said, it was because he drank too much...Poor guy had a beer ever night, lol....I sometimes think they really don't know what causes it....Was so glad to see the air is a little better in your area,,,,,AND you are going to think I'm such a dummy.....In our paper this morning, there is a big article about Lake Lure and how the owners of Esmeralda Inn and Restaurant in Chimney Rock had to be evacuated...Terry often talked about Chimney Rock and the times he and the boys camped near there...AND, here's the dumb part, I did not know, Dirty Dancing was filmed at Lake Lure....Always happy to learn something "new".....
Sorry to hear about your DB...Praying he doesn't continue to suffer.....AND you my dear, take it easy....Find a book, have a cup of tea, put those feet up and relax....

Jana, I now have this vision of you floating through the airport attached to a huge bunch of balloons...Isn't that sweet of Ethan and I'll bet big brother loves every minute....And what is it about planes coming in early??? Maybe they're all using super fuel...The only time I like to go to the airport is if I'm actually getting on that plane and there is, usually sun when we land....Of course that doesn't happen if you're coming back home to Pgh. from Ft. Myers during the winter, lol....I don't think you have to be reminded to enjoy your time with the family, have a feeling, you have that all taken care of.....

Not much happening in our household today...We had another sleepless night so it's kind of quiet this afternoon....Jim is watching the Steelers, maybe with an eye or 2 closed....I do plan on working on the quilt, would like to get it finished this year, lol....

For our dinner, I put a pork tenderloin in the oven...Will bake a couple of potatoes and have a veggie...Also, for afters, I finally did make those cinnamon rolls last night and OH my, so darn good.....

You all have a great day......

Happy eating..............

I am a little late, but I want to join you all anyway. We are doing left overs tonight and I am adding a box mix of Mac N Cheese for side dish. We have a few beef brats left over and a few baked beans, so we need a little something to go with that. Thought Mac N Cheese sounded good.
Georgetown is about 3 1/2 hours from Lyn and me. Probably won't get to see each other.

Hi all :)
Vel, I'm even later than you ;) I just sat down and put my feet up. .. I've been busy all day getting the house ready for Thanksgiving company :) Frankie has been helping me LOL some times making double work for me. ... Irish I thought of you during our helping times and Frick and Frack LOL I think we qualified today ;) and I've been squaring blocks and using my embroidery machine and texting Mary and Chickie :)
I made fajitas tonight for supper, they were yummy!

I'm sorry I'm a hit and miss supper gal lately, I hope you all know I think and say prayers foryou all all day long.
I forgot to tell you all that Kevin could use some prayers, he applied at UPS for seasonal at the moment and he's hired if he passes his background check. He put on his application about his past case and they still interviewed him and he passed that and they told him the job is his if he passes his background check and he reminded them about his case and they said the type it was shouldn't affect him being hired just do long as he had nothing else. .. which he doesn't, so prayers would be greatly appreciated! We're just hoping whoever is above the interview person is willing to give him a chance.

I'm going to try and relax a little. I hope you all had a great day and evening.
Tina
